Travel Mode - Systems Overview
Before taking off in your GO, there are a few operations you should fa-
miliarize yourself with. Understanding the safe operation of these sys-
tems will reduce chances of injury or damage.
• Lift System
• Stabilizer Jacks
• Dolly Jack
• Coupler Connect/Disconnect
• Secure Tailgate
• Secure Set Pins
Lift System:
The Lift System enables you to raise and lower the Upper Rack and Pod
Assembly between Travel Mode, Transport Mode and Camping Modes.
Remove all Set Pins. Remove the Lift System Winch Handle from Front
Storage Pod Lid and insert into the Winch Opening. Turning Winch Han-
dle clockwise, raise the Upper Rack and Pod Assembly to desired
height. To lower the Upper Rack and Pod Assembly, reverse direction
(counter clockwise) and lower to desired height.
Stabilizer Jacks:
The Stabilizer Jacks are mounted underneath the Deck at all four cor-
ners. They are spring loaded and retracted, for traveling. To access
each Stabilizer Jack, crouch or kneel at each corner of the GO, facing
the center of the GO. Firmly grasp the Stabilizer Jack and push away
from you, toward the center of the GO and allow Stabilizer Jack to drop
down into position. Next, release the Tab on Stabilizer Jack and allow
the Extension Leg drop to the ground. Using the Stabilizer Jack Adjust-
ment Rod, make final adjustments to level GO. Before traveling, make
sure all four Stabilizer jacks have been returned to their retracted posi-
tion. For additional details on the Stabilizer Jack operation, please watch
the GO set-up video.

9
Dolly Jack:
The Dolly Jack is used to safely disconnect the GO (Coupler)
from the Tow Vehicle. Once disconnected, the Dolly Jack allows
you to easily push the GO into desired location. The Dolly Jack
is connected to the Tongue with a spring-loaded mount. By pull-
ing out the curved , metal Release Handle, you can free the Dol-
ly Jack and allow it to rotate into vertical position. By turning the
top, plastic handle you can raise and lower the GO on and off
the Coupler.
Coupler Connect/Disconnect:
To connect and disconnect the standard 2” Ball Coupler, simply
grab the Coupler Handle, squeeze the trigger and lift up. With
Handle raised, lower the Coupler down onto the Hitch Ball, the
indicator graphic on the left side of the Coupler shows if the
Coupler is engaged—positive indicates that the Coupler is se-
cured, negative indicates that the Coupler is not secured. For
additional details on the Coupler Connect/Disconnect, please
watch the GO set-up video.
Secure Removable Tailgate:
It is extremely important that the Removable Rear Tailgate is
secured to the Bed Platforms by using the long, Velcro Strap, to
prevent damage while traveling. Wrap the Velcro Strap around
the Bed Platforms and the Tailgate and secure, before driving.
Secure Set Pins:
Before traveling, be sure all (4) Set Pins are inserted into the
proper locations on the Upper rack Assembly, (note: by raising
the Lift System very slightly, you can further lock them into posi-
tion). For additional details on the Set Pins, please watch the
GO set-up video.

Transport Mode enables you to transport loads that are too large to safely
move in Travel Mode. By raising the two Bed Platforms to a vertical posi-
tion, locking the frame down and securing it with straps, you can safely
load up to 800 lbs of gear on the deck. To load a vehicle onto the deck,
remove the control-tilt set pin and push down on the rear bumper to tilt
the bed for loading. Remove the tailgate, if necessary, to provide room for
the vehicle. When finished, the deck should return to level and the set pin
should be replaced. Be certain to chseck with your state regulations re-
garding loads that extend beyond your trailer.
Before moving, make sure:
• The Control-Tilt Set Pin is secured
• The (4) Locator Pins are securely engaged
• The (8) Set Pins are secured
• The (4) Ratchet Straps are connected and tightened

Section 1: Pre-Trip Preparations
Preparation Overview
Before leaving on your first trip with your new GO, read the infor-
mation in this manual very carefully. After reading through the
manual, run through the following checklist at least once. (If you
need to reference any of the sections to help you along the way,
there is an overview at the beginning of each section designed to
give you a quick refresher.)
Pre-Trip Checklist
1. Loading: Properly load and secure your GO camping trailer by
carefully and evenly distributing the weight, properly following
add-on equipment (Thule, Yakima, etc.) guidelines, and not ex-
ceeding the overall weight. (see Towing Guidelines)
2. Wheel Lug Nuts: Check the torque on your wheels before your
first trip, 50-75 ft lbs. Recheck them at 25 and 50 mile intervals to
be sure they remain secure. (see Suspension System)
3. Tire Inflation: Tires leave the dealer at the recommended pres-
sure. Refer to tire pressure chart, located on the tongue. To help
insure that you don’t run into premature or uneven tire wear, al-
ways check the tire pressure before heading out on the road.
(see Suspension System)
4. Trailer Coupler: Do a visual check to make sure the trailer cou-
pler is securely latched to the tow vehicle’s ball hitch and the indi-

plastic storage boxes. Suffocation can occur
if a person is locked inside a storage box.
Damage can occur if weight is placed on top of
boxes.

cator marker is in the “green” section. (see Towing Guidelines)
5. Safety Cables: Check that safety cables have been attached to
your tow vehicle (cables should criss-cross beneath the Tongue/
Drawbar) (see Chassis System)
6. Electrical: Attach the 4-wire connector to the tow vehicle’s mat-
ing electrical outlet. Check to see that all camping trailer lights
are functioning properly. (see Electrical System)
7. Latches and Pins: Check the locating pins, securing pins, stor-
age box latch and camping pod latches to be sure they are all
properly fastened and locked. (see Set-up Instructions)
Tool Kit
Before leaving on your first trip it is a very good idea to put together
your own tool-kit that contains the following items:
1. 3/4” Lug Wrench or 3/4” socket (for lug nuts)
2. Socket set with metric sockets (10, 13 and 17mm)
3. Tire Pressure Gauge
4. Phillips Head Screwdriver
5. Small Level
6. Pliers
7. Adjustable Wrench (1” standard)
8. Metric Hex Set (4, 5 and 6mm)
9. Spare Key to Storage Box
10. Electrical Tape
11. Duct Tape
12. Repair Kits for Tent and Mattress Pads
Be sure to take the tool-kit and manual with
you on every trip. If a problem arises on a trip,
it is very likely you will be able to trouble-shoot
and repair it enough to return home.
It is advised to carry a tool kit while travel-
ling with a GO. Please see above list for
more information.

Section 2. Towing Guidelines
Towing Overview
The SylvanSport GO is a remarkably light and well handling camping
trailer that you should be able to master quickly. GO was designed to
be very friendly to first-time towers. There are some things you have
to know and practice in order to assure an enjoyable experience and
avoid problems (or an all-out disaster). The basic items to consider
are:
1. Know the weight of your GO before it is loaded and after.
2. Qualify your tow vehicle to be sure it is capable of carrying the
load.
3. Prepare your tow vehicle with a hitch system and electrical sys-
tem. (2” ball, flat 4-wire electrical)
4. Learn and practice the basics of driving with a trailer.
Determining Weight of GO Camping trailer (before and after
loading):
Empty, the GO camper weighs 840 lbs. The gross vehicle weight
rating (GVWR), or gross vehicle mass (GVM) is the maximum op-
erating weight/mass of a vehicle as specified by the manufacturer.
The GO is rated to 1800 lbs. GVWR. The load capacity is the GVWR
less the trailer weight. The GO’s maximum load capacity is, thus,
960 lbs. Always be aware of how much you are loading on your GO
camper. It is unsafe to exceed the GVWR of any vehicle.
Qualifying your Tow Vehicle:
First and foremost, you must know if your vehicle can haul the load.
It is extremely important that you find out what your tow vehicle’s
towing capacity is. You can usually find out what the towing capaci-
ty of your vehicle is through several sources. The vehicle owner’s
manual, the vehicle manufacturer’s website, or calling a dealership
are several good ways to determine this. Once you know the weight
capacity of your tow vehicle it is easy to determine how much addi-
tional gear you can load onto your GO camping trailer.
Preparing your Tow Vehicle:
It is essential that you determine the max.
tow rating your vehicle can handle (GVWR)
and that you do not exceed that amount
when the GO is fully loaded.
