Installation
1.PlacetheSymondoBoxontheupperedgeoftheDIN
railwiththelockingcatchontop.
2Engagethedevicebypressingitdown.Ensurethatthe
lockingcatchesengagecompletelyandthatthedeviceis
firmlyseatedontherail.
Disassembly
RemovetheSymondoBoxfromtheDINrailbyinsert-ing
twoscrewdriversintotheeyeletsandpullingthemdown-
wards.
Separation walls and cover
Theseparationwallsandthecovercanberemovedforeasier
connectionofthecables.Theymustthenbereinstalledin
ordertosafelyseparateareascarryingmainsvoltagefrom
areascarryinglowvoltages.
Openthecover(90°degree)andthenpullitoutofthesideof
theattachment.
Iftheterminalblocks(B-I)aretobesuppliedwithavoltageotherthanthemainsvoltage,proceedasfollows:
1. RemoveexistingbridgesA1-B1andA2-B2
2. ItisabsolutelynecessarytoinsertaseparatingwallbetweenA-B.
3. ConnectthepowersupplytoB1(L)andB2(N).

Low-voltagecablessuchastemperaturesensorcablesmustberoutedseparatelyfrommainsvoltagecables.
Beforeworkingontheunit,switchoffthepowersupplyandsecureitagainstbeingswitchedonagain!Checkthatthereis
nopowerflowing!Electricalconnectionsmayonlybemadebyaspecialistandincompliancewiththeapplicablereg-
ulations.Theunitmaynotbeputintooperationifthereisvisibledamagetothehousing,e.g.cracks.
Thecustomermustprovideanall-poledisconnectingdevice,e.g.anemergencyheatingswitch.
Thestrainreliefsaresuitableforflexiblecables
withacablesheathdiameterof5mmto8mm,
primarilyusingthelowerstrainrelief(as
shown).Thecablesmustbecheckedforfirm
placement.Solid,thickerandthinnercables
mustalwaysbelaidfirmlyandmustbefixedon
theinstallationside.
Massivewiresorcableswithspecialwireend
sleevescansimplybepressedintotheter-
minals.Forotherwires,thetrowelmustfirstbe
completely pressed onwithascrewdriveras
shown.
Wireferrulesmadeofbrasscanbe
difficulttoclampduetotheirasym-
metriccrimpingshape.Inthiscase,
removethewireferrule.Theplug-in
terminalsarealsosuitableforflexible
cables.
