TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE USE OF THE AUTOMATED PILL DISPENSER
*** If you use a pharmacy or carer to fill the device please ensure they also read this sheet.
Lock & Key
When You receive the device it will be unlocked with the key inside
To open the lid put your pointer finger through the opening in the lid,
and press and lift with your thumb on the outside
DO NOT BREAK THE LOCK!!
To lock and unlock, gently turn the key ¼ turn only.
Towards the ‘O’ to OPEN or Towards the ‘L’ to lock
The lock has a tamper resistant feature, if the lock is over turned backwards
and forwards, the wrong way, or someone attempts to break into the device, the lock WILL break.
We cannot repair the lock if it is broken. A replacement device will be necessary
Breaking the lock will be caused by incorrect operation of the lock
THE LOCK IS NOT COVERED BY ANY REPLACEMENT WARRANTY
Please take care with the lock
Battery Replacement
Use the batteries supplied. Batteries should last approximately 6 months
This varies , depending on how many alarms are used per day and how long the alarms sounds for
When replacing batteries always use good quality batteries (e.g. Duracell, or Energizer)
DO NOT Use rechargeable batteries
Battery saving feature
The device has a battery saving feature.
The LCD screen will go blank after periods of inactivity
The time will still be retained and alarms will sound at the programmed times
To activate the LCD , tip the device or press ‘3’
To Select 12 Or 24 Hour Format
1. Press buttons ‘2’ & ‘3’ simultaneously to switch between 12 hour or 24 hour display
To Set The Current Time
1. Press button ‘1’ for approximately 6 seconds, until the colon symbol (‘:’) flashes
2. Press button ‘2’ to change the hours, Press button ‘3’ to change the minutes
3. Press ‘1’ to lock in the time setting

To Set The Alarm Times
1. Press button ‘1’ and release
2. ‘Alarm 1’ symbol should be shown, flashing on the left hand side
4. Press button ‘2’ to change the hours, Press button ‘3’ to change the minutes
5. Press ‘1’ to lock in the time setting and advance to the next alarm
6. ‘Alarm 2’ symbol will flash, continue as above the change the hours & minutes
7. If required, continue as above to set alarms 3 - 4 –5 & 6 and press 1 to return to the time display
8. Only program the alarm times you need , leave the remaining unused alarms on ‘--:--‘
9. If you need to cancel an alarm change the hours to ‘--:--‘
this setting will appear if you change the hours to the one after 23:00 or after the midnight setting
Loading Medicines
Load the pills in an anti clockwise direction, do not leave any spaces
The device comes with 6 templates/ dosing rings, for 1 to 6 doses per day
Use the correct template to aid loading
All of the templates assume medicines will be filled to start from a Monday
If you start on a different day, or are doing 5 or 6 dosage alarms per day,
you may need to modify, disregard, or create your own template
Ensure The tray is aligned and rotating correctly
After filling, lifting, or moving the tray, to ensure cogs are aligned correctly,
always go into test mode and rotate the device mechanically
Each time you open the device, move the tray, lift the tray, or fill it, you might not have the tray sitting
on the cog correctly. It is wise to position the tray a few spaces back, then go into the test mode and
use the motor to rotate the tray to the correct position.
Use the built in test function to rotate the tray
oEnsure the LCD display is visible (If left for long period of inactivity Tip to activate, or press 3)
oLift the tray and position a few spaces back
oPress button ‘2’ for approximately 6 seconds, until Test Mode ‘CH’ is displayed
oPress button ‘1’ to run through the test
oThe device will show all display (CH1), rotate (CH2), alarm and flash (CH3)
oTip the device to stop the alarm and wait for it to return to CH
oRepeat the test by pressing button ‘1’
oStop the tests when the next due dose is immediately to the right of the opening in the lid
oWhen finished exit the test mode by pressing button ‘3’
To Change The Alarm Sound/Tone
1. Hold down button ‘3’ and at the same time hold button ‘1’
2. The device will rotate around 3 different alarm tones and also a silent setting
3. Symbols indicate the chosen tone ;
A - Tone 1
B - Tone 2
C - Tone 3
Blank - No audible alarm, just flashing light
4. Release the buttons when the desired tone is heard
To stop the alarm
During normal operation. When the alarms sound, simply tip the medicine out of the hole,
this will stop the alarm.
Direct Light
Ensure the device is not under a direct light or sunlight.
This can affect the sensor that detects how many spaces the device rotate.
