OverviewofTach‐ItModel#6510‐TL:
TheTach‐ItModel#6510‐TLisatabletopL‐ClipLabelApplicator.Onceloadedwiththelabelstobeappliedto
theproduct,anoperatorsimplyplacestheboxtobesealedontothetopplatemovingitforwardagainstthe
PressurePlateforActuation.Thisactionappliesthelabelfromthesidetothebottomofabox.
Utilizingastate‐of‐the‐artnon‐contactLabelSensor,theTach‐ItModel#6510‐TLdetectsthegapbetween
labels.Asthegapisrequired,thelabelsmustbedie‐cut.Thenormalgapis3mmor1/8”.Becauseofthe
sensorbeingused,unlikeothermachines,ourModel#6510‐TLdoesnotblacklinesprintedontheliner.
Easytosetupanduse,theTach‐ItModel#6510‐TLwillsecurelysealchipboard,tuckandmanyothertypesof
boxes.Labelscanberoundandclear(thistypeoflabelisoftencalledawaferseal)orothershapesand
materialsoflabels.TheLabelSensorcandetectalltypesoftransparentandopaquelabels.

Assemblingthe6510‐TL:
1) UnpacktheModel#6510‐TLandallaccessoriesandplacethemontoaflat,level,drysurfacethat
allowsfullaccesstoallsidesofthemachine.
2) TheLabelRollArmwillbepackedseparatelyandmustbeattachedtothemainframeoftheModel
#6510‐TL.PleaseseeFigure5below:

3) ToattachtheLabelRollArm,unpackitfromanyprotectivepackagingandtherewillbe3screwslocatedonthe
arm.Removethese3screwswithaPhillipsheadscrewdriver.
4) HoldingthearmontheonthebacksideoftheMainFrame,insertoneoftheLabelRollArmScrewspreviously
removedfromtheLabelRollArmthroughoneoftheholesattherearoftheMainFrame.Tightenuntilsnug.
5) Inserttheremaining2LabelRollArmScrewsintotheremaining2holeslocatedatthebackoftheMainFrame
andtightenfully.ThentightenthefirstLabelArmRollScrewtightly.TheLabelRollArmisnowinstalled.
6) Packedseparatelywillalsobe2RollGuidesand2SpringCollars.Place1SpringCollarontotheLabelRollShaft
andinsert1oftheLabelRollGuideswiththe3‐inchinsertfacingawayfromtheMainFrameontotheLabelRoll
Shaft.TheRemainingLabelRollGuideandSpringCollarwillbeusedtosecuretherolloflabelsandwillbeused
duringthelabelfeedingprocess.
7) PlugthesuppliedpowercordintotheIECPowerInputandFuseHolder(SeeFigure3).Donotplugintooutlet.
8) TheU‐PintosecurethelabelwastetotheLabelWasteRewinderwillalsobeusedduringthelabelfeeding
processandsetaside.

2) PlacetherolloflabelsontotheLabelRollShaftandagainsttheLabelRollGuide.Ensurethatthe3‐
inchcoreinsertgoesintothecoreofthelabelroll.Thelabelsshouldbefeedingfromthetopof
therolloflabelsandwhentheleadingedgeofthelabellinerispulled,thelabelrollwillrotateina
counterclockwisedirection.
3) Placethe2ndLabelRollGuideontotheLabelRollShaftsothatthe3‐inchcoreinsertgoesintothe
coreofthelabelrollandsecurewiththeSpringCollar.DonotpresstightwiththeSpringCollars.
Thiswillcausetensiononthelabelrollduringoperationofthemachine.TheSpringCollarsshould
besnugagainstthelabelrollsothatthereisnolateralmovementofthelabelrollalongtheLabel
RollShaft.
IfthelabelstobeusedontheModel#6510‐TLareona1”core,simplyreversetheLabelRollGuidessothat
the3‐inchcoresarefacingawayfromtherollofLabelsandsecurewiththeSpringCollars.
4) TaketheleadingedgeofthelabellinerandfeeditbetweentheLowerUrethanePressurePlateand
theBlackRollerShaft.SeeFigure7.
5) ContinuetakingtheleadingedgeofthelabellinertowardstheLabelWasteRewinderandaround
thesecondBlackRollerShaft.Makesurethatthelabelisgoingthroughtheslotinthemiddleof
theLabelSensor,SeeFigure9.
6) ContinuefeedingtheleadingedgeofthelabellinertotheBrassSeparatorPlate.Keepingthelabel
lineragainstthebronzeSeparatorPlatecontinuefeedingitupwardbetweentheBrassSeparator

unpackedduringtheassemblyoftheModel#6510‐TL,securethelabellinertotheLabelWaste
Rewinder.MovetheO‐RingslocatedontheBlackRollerShaftsagainstthelabelliner.
8) Thelabelsarenowthreadedcorrectly.
9) BoththeLowerUrethanePressurePlateandtheTopUrethanePressurePlatehavethumbscrews
thatwillallowtheassemblytorotateontheshafts.Loosenthethumbscrewsonbothpartsand
rotatetheassemblysothattheUrethanePressurePlateisputtingpressureonthelabels.Thiswill
addsometensiontothelabelsandhelpmaintainconsistencyinthefeeding.Makesurethatthe
UrethanePressurePlatesareinthemiddleofthelabelandmovethelabelsthroughtheUrethane
PressurePlate.Ensurethatthelabelsmovefreelyandthereisnottoomuchtension.Ifthereis
toomuchtensionreducethepressureontheUrethanePressurePlates.
10) Pullthelinersothatanyslackinthelabellinerisremovedanduntilalabelisfedabouthalfway
abovetheTopPlate.SeeFigure4.NowitistimetosetuptheLabelSensor.

SettingupoftheLabelSensorandLabelPosition:
ThesensorusedontheModel#6510‐TLisspecificallydesignedtodetectclearlabelswithoutanyblack
indicatorlinesprintedonthelabelliner.Ifthelabelsbeingusedhavetheblacklinemarksorareopaque,itis
notaproblemduetothestate‐of‐the‐artLabelSensorusedonthismachine.

5) PlugthePowerCordintoaproperlygroundedandsurgeprotectedelectricaloutletoftheproper
voltage.TurnthemachineonusingtheOn/OffPowerSwitch,SeeFigure1.
6) Holdthelabellinerandmovethelabelsforwardandbacksothatlabelsaretravelingcompletely
throughtheslotintheLabelSensor.Ensurethatatleast2or3labelsaretravelingcompletelythrough
thewidthoftheLabelSensor.SeeBelowandseeFigure8onthepreviouspage:
a. WhenagapbetweenthelabelsiswithintheslotoftheLabelSensor,aYellowIndicatorLight
shouldilluminate.Ifthisisnothappening,pressthe“+”buttonontheLabelSensor2or3
times.Testagainbymoving2or3labelsthroughtheLabelSensorandseeiftheYellow
IndicatorLightilluminates.IfnotrepeattheaboveuntiltheYellowIndicatorLightilluminates
whenthegapinthelabeliswithintheslotoftheLabelSensor.
b. SometimestheLabelSensormaybesettoosensitive.Tocheckthis,movethelabelsthrough
thegapintheLabelSensor.IftheYellowIndicatorLightilluminatesatanyplaceonthelabel
thatisnotthegapbetweenthelabels,theLabelsensoristoosensitive.Pressthe“–“button
ontheLabelSensor2or3timesandmoveafewlabelsthroughthesensorandensurethe
YellowIndicatorLightonlyilluminatesatthegapbetweenthelabels.IftheYellowIndicator
lightisstillilluminatingwhenthelabeliswithintheslotofthesensor,repeattheaboveby
pressingthe“–“button2or3timesandtestagain.ContinuethisstepuntiltheYellow
IndicatorLightonlyilluminatesatthegapbetweenthelabels.Ifthereisprintingonthelabel,
theLabelSensormaydetecttheinklayeronthelabel.Ifpossible,findapathwithinthelabel
withnoprintingandusingtheLabelSensorAdjustmentInandOut,alignthelineembossedin
thesensorwiththepathwithnoink.Testagainandifnecessary,adjustpertheinstructions
above.
c. TheLabelSensorhasaunique“Teach‐In”ModetohelpconfiguretheLabelSensortothelabels
beingused.Pressthe“+”and“‐“buttonssimultaneouslyfor1secondthenletgo.ARed
IndicatorLightnexttothe“+”buttonwillblink.Moveseverallabelswiththesubstratethrough
theLabelSensor.AftermultiplelabelshavepassedthroughtheLabelSensor,pressthe“‐“
buttontostoptheTeach‐InMode.Repeatstep6aboveandifnecessaryfinetunetheLabel
Sensorbyusingaandbabove.
7) WiththeOn/OffSwitchintheOnposition,presstheLabelApplicationRollerAssemblywithanobject
thatwillnotdamagetherollerandseeifonly1labelisfedthroughthemachine.Ifmultiplelabelsare
fed,repeatstep6‐a.Ifalabelisnotfullyfed,repeatstep6‐b.

8) TosettheLabelSensorAdjustmentForwardandBack,confirmthatalabelisfedhalfwayuptheBrass
SeparatorPlateasshowninFigure4ofthismanual.Ifalabelisnotinthispositionandwiththe
On/OffSwitchintheOffposition,pullthelabellinerneartheLabelWasteRewinderuntilthelabelis
fedasshowninFigure4.
9) TheLabelSensorAdjustmentForwardandBackwilldeterminethefeedpositionofeachlabelasitis
fedthroughthemachine.TurnthePoweronthemachinebyusingtheOn/OffPowerSwitchandpress
theLabelApplicatorRollerAssemblyandcheckinwhatpositionthenextlabelfedasshowninFigure
4.Ifthelabelisnotfedhighenough,thenmovetheLabelSensorbyusingthelabelSensorAdjustment
ForwardandBackslightlyforwardtowardstheLabelWasteRewinderandtestagain.Ifthelabelis
feedingtoomuch,thenmovetheLabelSensorbacktowardstheLabelRollShaftbyusingtheLabel
SensorAdjustmentForwardandBackslightlybackandtryagain.Duetothemanytypesoflabels,this
stepwillrequiresometrialanderror.Forfineadjustmentstothelabelfeedposition,usetheLabel
LengthControlasshowninFigure1ofthismanual.
10) Oncethepreviousstepshavebeencompleted,tryapplyingalabeltotheproducttobesealedusing
theModel#6510‐TL.Ifthelabelappliesasdesired,theModel#6510‐TLisreadyforuse.Ifthelabel
doesnotapplyasdesiredbutthelabelisfeedingconsistently,adjustmentscanbemadebyusingthe
SeparatorPlateAdjustmentThumbScrew,seeFigure2.Forsmallerlabels,theBrassSeparatorPlate
mayneedtoberaisedtoallowforthelabeltoapplyevenlytothepackage.Forlargerlabels,theBrass
SeparatorPlatemayneedtobesetlowerforproperapplicationofthelabeltothepackage.Toadjust
thepositionoftheBrassSeparatorPlate,usetheSeparatorPlateAdjustmentThumbScrewtoraise
andlowertheBrassSeparatorPlate.Thismayrequiresometrialanderrorforproperadjustment.
SettinguptheProductGuides:
1) ThefinalstepistosetuptheProductGuide.
2) TosetuptheProductguide,loosenthe2ProductGuideThumbScrewsandmovetheProductGuideto
thepositionnecessaryfortherequiredplacementofthelabelsonthepackage.SeeFigure4.
3) TherearemultiplethreadedholesintheTopPlateoftheModel#6510‐TLandifneededtheProduct
Guidecanbefullyremovedandthenplacedinapositionthatwillprovidethenecessaryplacementof
thelabelonthepackageandtheProductGuideThumbScrewsreplacedandtightened.
4) TheModel#6510‐TLcanalsobeflushmountedintoatableforlargerboxesifdesired.
UseoftheTach‐ItModel#6510‐TL:
1) Oncealloftheabovehasbeencompleted,theModel#6510‐TLisreadyforuse.
2) PlacethepackagetobesealedontotheTopPlateoftheModel#6510‐TLandpushthepackage
forwardoverthegapintheTopPlateandagainstthePressurePadforActuation.Makesurethatthe
packagepushesthePressurePadforActuationcompletelyforwardsothelabeltobeapplied.
3) Ifnecessary,theoperatormayneedtolifttheleadingedgeoftheboxbeingsealedslightlytoallowit
tomoveoverthegapthelabelcomesthrough.Thiswillensureapropersealifnecessary.
4) Removethepackageandthenextlabelwillbefedandthemachineisreadyforthenextcycle.

UrethanePressurePlates.Ifnecessaryloosenthesesothatthe
labelswillfeedfreely.
TheLabelApplicatorRollerdepressesamicro‐switchlocatedon
thebacksideoftheMainFrame.Confirmthatthemicro‐switch
isbeingdepressedwhentheLabelApplicationRolleris
depressedbelowtheplate.Alsoifcapableconfirmthatthe
signalfromthemicro‐switchispassing.
WhentheLabelApplication
Rollerisdepressedbelowthe
plate,thelabelsfeedwithout
stoppingsomultiplelabelsare
fed.
Confirmthatthelabelsareproperlyfedandthatthelabelsgo
throughtheslotwithintheLabelSensor.SeeFigure9and
followtheFeedingtheLabelssectionofthismanual

AdjustthepositionoftheLabelSensorbyusingtheLabel

labelisfedabovetheTopPlateandsecuretheLabelSensor
AdjustmentbytighteningtheTumbScrew.

Thelabelisnotbeingremoved

Confirmthatthelabelwillpeelcleanlyfromthelinerby
removingafewlabelsbyhand.Ifthesurfaceofbackinglabel
linerispeelingwiththelabel,thedie‐cutofthelabelisnogood
andthemachinewillhavedifficultypeelingtheselabels.Try
anotherlabelrollordifferentlabel
