User’s optional interface modules are depending on their applied network
interface. The optional modules of the WAN interface (see Figure 1.1B)
might include V.24, V.35 RS-530 and X.21. The Console port is used to
monitor and operate the device via PCs or Terminals.
User should not change any modules without
permission from the manufacturer.
The inspection of any damages from shipment includes bending or loosing
hardware components, and broken connectors.
To prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD)
damage, user should avoid not open up the
case to avoid touching internal components.
1.1.2 Connecting Power to the Device
The AC power requirement of the WANpro 2000 device is 115/230 VAC
auto-range input. Before you switch on the device, be sure that you plug the
power cord.
It is strongly recommended that you should
also screw a Protective Ground (PG) wire to
the earth to protect your system.
1.1.3 Connecting to the Network
There are several optional interfaces and connectors such as WAN port
(RS-232 Cable), LAN port (RJ-45), ISDN port – unavailable (RJ-45). The
basic connection of devices could be shown in Figure 1.2.
The WANpro 2000 device is working like a Bridge or Gateway DTEs to
communicate remotely through the RJ-45 for LAN port to Ethernet Network
and RS-232 cable to DCEs for WAN port.
For details of using modules, you need to
contact your local sales representative.
PCs or Terminals could be used to setup system configuration or monitor
system status via Console Port. The DCE could be a Modems, ISDNs or
xDSL Series devices and so on that connect to the WANpro 2000 device
through WAN Port (25 DB).
