Prior to
Installation
WARNING: IGNORING THIS INFORMATION COULD VOID YOUR WARRANTY
• Please ensure you have been provided a copy of the clients “Scape Delivery & Installation Requirements”
document prior to delivery and installation. This document will ensure that you have been provided with the
relevant delivery and installation support, tools and fixings that you will require. A copy of this document
also resides at the back of this installation guide.
• Tait’s Scape modules are built to be strong, durable, and last for many years. However, placing the modules
on un-level ground can create leveraging stresses that can cause cracking and even breakage that is not
covered in the product warranty.
• For transporting the pieces, it is recommended to use a truck with tail gate lift function.
• A furniture dolly or similar lifting equipment is required to transport modules from truck to their final location.
• Care must be taken when moving modules into position to avoid damage, never drag the products. Where
manual lifting is required we recommend the following:
Scape Module (from 150kg): Min. 2 persons
Scape Long Module (from 250kg): Min. 2 persons
Scape Island Module (from 270kg): Min. 4 persons
• For transporting modules in lifts or around narrow corridors, modules may need to be strapped to a hand
trolley for ease of manoeuvring.
• Avoid using sharp objects to open packaging, this may damage product surfaces.
• Once components are un-packaged, place components on soft, clean and debris-free protective surfaces
to avoid scratching or marking the components. Please also prevent product components knocking or
contacting one another as this may also scratch, mark or dent the pieces.
• Ensure installation is carried out by qualified person/s.

SAFETY
• Children must not be left unattended in the presence of Scape modules installed with the Canopy
component.
• Never lean against Scape Components (Side Table, Table, Canopy, Backrest) during installation to Scape
Modules as products may topple over.
• Please ensure you have completed the correct fixing method for your Scape configuration, either
freestanding, weighted or fixed installation.

Prior to fixing any components, check the GRC
base is sitting level with the ground
FREE STANDING INSTALLATION
Four pairs of blocks are to be placed in the Module and 8 pairs of blocks are to be placed in the Long
Module. Blocks to be pushed close to the wall as shown.
NOTE: THIS ASSEMBLY METHOD SUITS SCAPE MODULE & LONG MODULE ONLY.
If weights are to be added, place the weights in the module in the below configuration.
Tait recommends the use of DEKO 250 x 150 x 150mm Instant Concrete Foundation Block (13kg each).
The blocks should be stacked in pairs as shown above to increase stability
If not level, adjust the levelling feet included
accordingly to make level. Clockwise to lower
foot, anticlockwise to raise foot.

Levelling Base
Prior to fixing any components, check the GRC base is sitting level with the ground. Remove existing
levelling feet and if GRC base is not level, use levelling packers under the GRC feet to correct.

Fixing to be M12 bolt with minimum length of
150mm, topped with an M12 mudguard washer.
Refer to number and placement of holes in
diagrams below.

Side Table
& Canopy

Side Table and Canopy are suited to all Scape Modules. The installation for the Side Table and Canopy
are identical. Please cross-check the sales order to confirm you have the correct part, location and
colour for the specified configuration.
Insert fixing bracket, with the nuts facing the
centre of the tube. Insert threaded studs into
tube and into the corresponding nut.
Insert the component into the correct holes in
the GRC base, insert the washer and loosely
tighten the nuts

& Canopy

Check level of the Side Table/Canopy and once satisfied, fully tighten the nuts
The tubes should meet flush to the GRC base
and the components should be firmly in place

MUST HAVE FIXED OR WEIGHTED INSTALLATION.

Backrest is suited to Scape Module and Long Module Only. Backrest requires two persons for
installation. Backrests are available in both left and right orientations. Please cross-check the sales order
to confirm you have the correct part, location and colour for the specified configuration. Weighted or
fixed installation is required with a minimum weight of 100kg per backrest required.

Insert the supplied threaded studs, mudguard washers and nuts in all four holes. Tighten with spanner.
First attach the long side of the Backrest (A) using the bottom most hole, before attaching the short
side (B) using the same bottom hole. Proceed to tighten all four nuts.

With two people, place the module and insert
the supplied top spacers, threaded studs,
mudguard washers and nuts in all four holes
Table is suited to Scape Module only. Table component requires two persons for installation. Please
check the sales order to confirm you have the correct part, location and colour for the specified
configuration. Depending on the table configuration, please see pages to follow for correct installation
method (freestanding, weighted or fixed).

the table as shown above, insert the M8 bolts.
Tighten the bolts using the 5mm T-bar Allen key.

Scape Island with Planter Only: Where drainage risers are specified for planting section, apply silicone
around base of drainage riser and place into drainage hole ensuring a water proof seal has been created.

Fixing GRC Seat
to GRC base
Take the correct GRC seat making sure there is foam padding applied on the underside.
INSTALLATION
With assistance, place the seat on the base, be careful to prevent your fingers being pinched in
between the two parts.

Take the correct timber seat making sure there is double sided foam tape applied on the underside.
Remove the release liner of the tape and prepare to attach to the GRC base.

With assistance, align the seat with the base, taking care to maintain an even distance around the edge of
the base. Once happy with placement firmly apply pressure to ensure a strong bond.
CAUTION: DOUBLE-CHECK ALL COMPONENTS AND FIXINGS ARE LOCATED IN CORRECT POSITION
AND FASTENED CORRECTLY BEFORE SEALING SEAT TO GRC BASE.
This assembly method applies to the timber seats for the Scape Module and Long Module.
