STARPHONIC Bravura Model features its innovative new “Multi Snare Frame,” equipped with a mechanism that
adjusts the contact of the snare side head and wires allowing up and down movement as well as TAMA’s unique
snare wire individual tension adjustment of 3 dierent kinds of wires. Follow the instructions below and get your
desired sound.
1.HOW TO ADJUST HEAD-TO-SNARE WIRE CONTACT
In order to adjust the space between the head and wires to your desired
sound, turn the knobs on top of the strainer and the butt (Image 1-A and
Image 2-B) which allows up-and-down movement of the whole snare frame
to adjust the height of the snare wires.
To obtain snare wires’ even contact across the head, it is important to set
the Multi Snare Frame completely level to the snare head.
After switching o the strainer, turn the tension knobs on the strainer and
butt till the circle marks on the hexagonal shafts on both sides are on the
same level. (Image 3) This allows the Multi Snare Frame to be completely
level to the snare head.
When the pressure of the snare wires against the snare head is too weak or
too strong, turn both knobs on the strainer side and the butt side evenly to
adjust the height of the wires for your desired position.
2.ADJUSTING SNARE WIRE TENSION
The Multi Snare Frame can hold full surface contact snare wires with three
kinds of materials that create dierent kinds of sound. It allows you to adjust
the tension of the three dierent snare wires individually as well as adjusting
them all together.
2-1. SETTING THE SNARE WIRES INDIVIDUALLY
In order to adjust tension of the three types of snare wires individually, rst
switch o the strainer. Then turn the three adjustment knobs (Image 4 C)
until the wires are even to a level surface.
*Turning the knobs clockwise will increase tension and counterclockwise
will reduce tension.
Once all the tension wires become level to an even surface, turn the strainer
back on so the snare wires are once again touching the snare side head.
Keeping the strainer on, turn the three adjustment knobs separately to
adjust the tension of each for your desired sound.
Hi-Carbon coils balance the response of the entire snare drum, while guitar
strings enhance the snappy onset sound and crisp attack. Black coated
nylon wires bring out full resonance of the shell while controlling the sustain.
2-2. ADJUSTING ALL THREE KINDS OF SNARE WIRES EVENLY
The knob D on the butt side allows an even tension adjustment of the
three types snare wires at once. After adjusting the three types of wires
individually as described in 2-1, turn knob D to adjust the tension of all the
three types of wires at the same time.

Adjustment of Snare Wires – STARPHONIC Model
Replacing Snare Wires
[STARPHONIC Bravura Model]
STARPHONIC Concert Snare Drums feature Hybrid Snare Wires with two
dierent materials that provide dierent kinds of sound.
To replace snare wires, with a drum key, take off the bolts on the cover
plates of both strainer and butt (Image 13-H), and remove the snare wires.
To install new snare wires, t the end plates on both ends of the wires into
the strainer and butt (Image 14) and then put the cover plates back on
tightening the bolts tight using a drum key.
*The Fine Adjuster is equipped on the strainer side. When replacing snare
wires, make sure to install the Fine Adjuster back onto the strainer side
cover plate.
[STARPHONIC Model]
STARPHONIC Bravura Concert Snare Drums are equipped with three kinds
of snare wires that can be replaced separately. When replacing snare wires,
rst switch o the strainer. Then remove the square head bolts on both ends
of the snare wires (Image 11-G) with your drum key and loosen the tension
adjustment knobs on the snare wires and take the wires out the frame itself.
To install new snare wires, place the plates of the snare wires to both ends
on the hooks as seen in Image 12 and connect them with the square head
bolts. Lastly, tighten the three tension adjustment knobs C on the side of
the strainer. Be sure that the snare wires are level to the snare head.
E
TROUBLE SHOOTING - When you don’t get snare wire sound
If you do not hear the sound of the snare wires when the strainer is on, it is
possible the snare wires are set too far from the head. Continue turning the
adjustment knobs on both the strainer and butt until the snare wires and
head are touching.
If, after turning the knobs all the way, there is still no snare wire sound, it
may be necessary to shorten the snare cords connecting the frame to the
shell. In order to do this please follow these steps:
1. Begin by lifting up the black hooks on the sides of the Multi Snare Frame
(Image 6) and remove the snare cords
2. Detach the Multi Snare Frame from the snare drum shell.
3. Loosen the adjustment knobs on the strainer and butt until you see the
circle marks on the hexagonal shafts (Image 7).
4. Use the provided hexagonal wrench (5mm) to loosen the hexagonal
screws (Image 8-E) to adjust the two snare cords that are fixed on both
strainer and butt sides by pulling them to make them shorter.
5. After making sure that the lengths of each pair of the snare cords are
equal then tighten them both tightly.
6. Then hook the snare cords back onto the Multi Snare Frame
7. Place the black hooks back down. (Image 9)
8. When turning the strainer on, be sure that the Multi Snare Frame is
completely level to the snare side head.
1-1. ADJUSTING WITH THE STRAINER
STARPHONIC Concert Snare Drum model features Hybrid snare wires – A
combination of two dierent wires, six guitar strings sandwiched with three
nylon coated stainless wires, producing its unique sound. In order to adjust
the tension of the entire snare wires, turn the knobs on the strainer and butt
until you get your desired sound.
1-2. ADJUSTING WITH THE FINE ADJUSTER
In addition to the entire wire adjustment function, STARPHONIC Concert
Snare oers a “Fine Adjuster,” which allows an individual adjustment only of
the 6 guitar strings in the center of the Hybrid Snare Wires.
After adjusting the tension of the entire snare wires, control the tension only
of the middle 6 guitar strings by turning knob F (Image 10).

Handling the Multi Snare Frame
Replacing Snare Heads
[STARPHONIC Bravura Model]
STARPHONIC Concert Snare Drums feature “Freedom Lugs,” which allow
head replacement without taking the tension bolts out of the hoop.
When replacing drum heads, after loosening the tension bolts, tilt the
tension bolts with the hooks together away from the hoop and remove the
hoop as shown in Image 18. There is no need to take the tension bolts out
of the lugs.
After placing the new drum head, put the hoop back down and t the hooks
with the tension rods into the groove on the hoop. After placing all the
hooks with the tension bolts into the groove, tune the drum as usual.
[STARPHONIC Model]
1.REPLACING BATTER HEADS
STARPHONIC Bravura Snare Drums feature “Freedom Lugs,” which allow
easy head replacement and doesn’t require tension bolts to be taken out of
the hoop.
When replacing drum heads, first loosen the tension bolts, then tilt the
tension bolts with the hooks together away from the hoop and take o the
hoop as shown in Image 15. No need to take the tension bolts out of the
lugs!
After placing the new drum head, place the hoop back down and fit the
hooks with the tension rods into the groove on the hoop. After placing all
the hooks with the tension bolts into the groove, simply tune the drum and
you are done.
2.REPLACING THE BOTTOM HEAD
When replacing the bottom heads, rst detach the Multi Snare Frame from
the snare drum. Do so by lifting up the four black hooks on the sides of the
frame (Image 16), and remove the black cords connecting to the strainer
and butt from the frame. (Image 17).
After removing the Multi Snare Frame from the drum, follow the same steps
as the batter head replacement mentioned above.
After replacing heads, reinstall the Multi Snare Frame onto the snare drum
by reversing the removal steps.
IMPORTANT - Be sure to refasten the black snare cords by using the black
hooks seen in Image 17. Otherwise, the frame may come off the snare
drum during performance.
STARPHONIC Bravura Model features the “Multi Snare Frame,” with dual
adjustable mechanisms: one that tailors the head-to-wire contact and the
other that allows individual tension adjustment of three kinds of wires .
Each unit comes from Tama manufacturer with three tension adjustment
knobs on the strainer side and one knob on the butt side. You can choose
the positions of the strainer and the butt by removing the frame from the
snare drum and turn it around (180 degrees) and reinstall.
In order to detach the frame from the snare drum, unhook the four black
hooks on the sides of the frame to release the black cords that connect the
strainer and butt from the frame. After taking the frame o the snare drum
(Image 19), turn the Multi Snare Frame 180 degrees and put the black cords
back onto the frame in the reverse order. Be sure to refasten the black snare
cords by using the black hooks seen in Image 16. Failure to do so could
loosen the frame from the snare drum while performing.
[MULTI SNARE FRAME - HANDLE WITH CARE]
*To make these two amazing mechanisms possible: snare wires head
contact adjustment and snare wires individual tension adjustment, the Multi
Snare Frame system had to adopt the method of attaching the frame to the
snare drum only with the snare cords. Take great caution when handling
because impact on the frame or drum head could signicantly damage the
system and impact performance.
*You will notice the four tension bolts by the multi snare frame on the snare
side have longer metal sleeves because these four bolts are designed to
protect the Multi Snare Frame from direct contact to the desk or oor when
placed down for tuning.
Make sure you set these four bolts in their designated positions to protect
the Multi Snare Frame. Be sure not to put these long tension bolts on other
spots!
*The Multi Snare Frame is equipped with four metal hooks where the snare
cords are hooked together with their black lock levers. When turning o the
lock levers and taking o the snare cords, you can detach the snare frame
itself from the drum. However, avoid doing so unnecessarily, as this requires
adjustment of the lengths of them every time they are removed.

HOW TO TUNE THE SNARE DRUM
To ensure maximum performance of your snare drum, it must be tuned
correctly.
Let’s discuss the optimal tuning method.
<TENSION ADJUSTMENT>
The standard way to tune a drum head is to tap the head lightly (with a
nger or a drum key) in front of each tension bolt. As shown in Image 21,
keep tuning in the order of diagonal lines. If you tighten one spot too much,
that causes the head tension to be uneven, which makes it dicult to tune
to balanced tension of the entire head.
When turning the bolts with a drum key, turn all the tension bolts until you
begin to feel resistance. From that point on, give a half or quarter turn to
each bolt till you get the same pitch from the entire head. To lower the pitch,
loosen tension bolts more than want and then tighten the bolts to raise the
tension to obtain a balanced tone.
Because it is difficult to hear the pitches on specific spots on the head,
rest ngers on the center of the head to mute when turning the bolts. This
makes it easier to pick up the pitches close to the tension bolts.
The shell bottom edge where the snappy snare wires contact are cut more
deeply than the rest of the edge of the shell. Thus, the bolts adjacent to the
snare wires require higher tension in order to enhance the response of the
snare wires.
<CHECKING TENSION WITH TENSION WATCH>
For more precise tuning TAMA oers their unique Tension Watch products,
the TW100 and TW200. They allow tuners to see the degree of tension in
numbers and help create maximum performance.
By placing the Tension Watch on the head, you can visually measure the
tension, which allows easier and faster tuning.
Our snare drums come standard with a REMO Diplomat batter head that is
set for tension 80, and snare side head set for tension 55.
<SNARE SIDE HEAD TUNING>
Also, for optimal drum tuning, it is important to balance the batter and snare
sides. Whenever you tune the batter side make sure you do the same for
the snare side.

スネアワイヤーの調整
スターフォニック・ブラヴーラ・モデルでは、スネアワイヤーを上下させることでスネアサイドヘッドとの接触具合
を調整できる機構と、3 種類のスネアワイヤーのテンションを個別に調整できる機構を取り入れたマルチ・スネア・
フレームを採用しています。次の手順に従い、お好みのサウンドに調整してください。
1. スネアワイヤーのヘッドへの接触具合を調整する
スネアワイヤーを上下させてスネアサイドヘッドとの接触具合を調整する
には、ストレイナーとバットの上部にある調整ノブ ( 写真 1 の A および写
真 2 の B) を回して、マルチ・スネア・フレームの高さを上下させます。
スネアワイヤーを均等にスネアヘッドに当てるには、マルチ・スネア・フレー
ムをスネアサイドヘッドと水平にすることが大切です。
ストレイナーのスイッチをオフにした後、ストレイナーとバットのテンショ
ン調整ノブを回し、それぞれの六角軸にある丸い印が見える高さを揃えてく
ださい ( 写真 3)。これによりフレームを水平にセットすることができます。
スネアワイヤーの当たり具合が弱い時、または当たり具合が強い時には、ス
トレイナー側のノブとバット部のノブを均等に回転させて、お好みの高さに
調整してください。
2. スネアワイヤー・テンションを調整する
マルチスネアフレームには、サウンドの異なる 3 種類の全面当たりスネア
ワイヤーを装着することができます。これらのスネアワイヤーはそれぞれ独
立してテンション調整を行うことも、3 つを均等に調整することも可能です。
2-1. それぞれのスネアワイヤー・テンションを調整する
それぞれのスネアワイヤーのテンションを調整する際には、まずストレイ
ナーのスイッチをオフにします。そして、ストレイナー側の 3 つの調整ノ
ブ（写真 4 の C）を回して、ワイヤーが地面に対して水平になるように調
整してください。※右回りに回転させるとスネアワイヤーのテンションが強
くなり、左回りに回転させると弱くなります。
全てのスネアワイヤーが水平になったら、ストレイナーをオンにしてスネア
ワイヤーがスネアサイドヘッドに接触するようにします。この状態のまま 3
つの調整ノブを回転させ、それぞれのスネアワイヤーのテンションをお好み
のサウンドになるように調整してください。
ハイカーボン・コイルはスネア全体の反応を整え、ギターストリングは音の
立ち上がりと歯切れの良さを引き出します。また、ブラックコーテッドのナ
イロンワイヤーは全体のサスティーンを引き締めつつ、シェルの鳴りを引き
出す効果があります。
2-2. 3 つのスネアワイヤー・テンションを均等に調整する
バット側の調整ノブ D では 3 本のスネアワイヤーのテンションを均等に調
整することができます。上記「2-1. それぞれのスネアワイヤー・テンショ
ンを調整する」の手順にて、それぞれのスネアワイヤーのテンションを調整
した後、調整ノブ D を回してテンションバランスを維持したまま 3 本同時
にテンションを調整することができます。

※スネアワイヤーのサウンドが得られない場合
ストレイナーをオンにしてもスネアワイヤーのサウンドが得られない場合
は、スネアワイヤーがヘッドから離れすぎている可能性があります。その場
合、スネアワイヤーのサウンドが得られるまでストレイナーおよびバット部
の調整ノブを締めて調整してください。
また、ストレイナーやバット部のノブを締め切ってもスネアワイヤーのサ
ウンドが得られない場合、フレームをスネア本体に繋いでいるスネアコー
ドの長さを短く調整する必要がありますので、次の手順に従ってスネアコー
ドの長さを調整してください。
まずマルチスネアフレーム本体側面にある黒いフックを立てて ( 写真 6) ス
ネアコードを外し、マルチスネアフレームをスネア本体から取り外します。
次にストレイナーとバットの調整ノブを六角軸の丸い刻印 ( 写真 7) が見え
る程度まで一旦緩めます。付属の六角レンチ (5mm) で六角ネジ ( 写真 8 の
E) を緩め、ストレイナー側およびバット側に固定されている 2 本のスネア
コードを数 mm 引っ張り出すようにして短く調整します。固定する時には、
それぞれペアのスネアコードの長さが揃っているか確認しながらしっかり
と固定してください。
次に、マルチスネアフレームにスネアコードを引っ掛け、黒いフックを倒し
てセットします ( 写真 9)。ストレイナーをオンにする際、マルチ・スネア・
フレームがスネアサイドヘッドに対して水平にセットできていることを確
認してください。
1-1. ストレイナーを使った調整
スターフォニック・コンサート・スネアドラムでは、中央の 6 本にはギター
ストリングス、その両サイド 3 本ずつにナイロン・コーテッド・ステンレ
スワイヤーという、異なるサウンドのスネアワイヤーを組み合わせたハイ
ブリッド・スネアワイヤーを採用しています。
スネアワイヤー全体のテンションを調整する場合は、ストレイナーとバッ
トそれぞれの調整ノブにてテンションの調整を行ってください。
1-2. ファインアジャスターを使った調整
スターフォニック・コンサート・スネアドラムでは、スネアワイヤー全体
の調整機能に加え、ハイブリッド・スネアワイヤーの中央にある6 本のギター
ストリングスだけを独立して調整するファインアジャスター機能がありま
す。
ストレイナー全体でのテンション調整を行った後、写真 10 の調整ノブ F
を回すことで中央のギターストリングスの強弱を調整してください。

スネアワイヤーの交換
[STARPHONIC Bravura モデル ]
スターフォニック・コンサート・スネアドラムでは、2 種類の異なるサウン
ドのスネアワイヤーを組み合わせたハイブリッド・スネアワイヤーを採用
しています。
スネアワイヤーを交換する際には、ストレイナーおよびバットの固定プレー
トのボルト ( 写真 13 の H) をチューニングキーを使って外し、スネアワイ
ヤーを取り外してください。
スネアワイヤーを取り付ける際には、スネアワイヤーの両端にあるエンド
プレートをストレイナーおよびバットに写真 14 のようにはめ込み、固定プ
レートを被せます。固定プレートはチューニングキーを使ってしっかりと
固定してください。
※ストレイナー側にはファインアジャスターが装備されています。スネア
ワイヤーを交換する際には、このファインアジャスターを忘れずにストレ
イナー側の固定プレートに取り付けてください。
[STARPHONIC モデル ]
スターフォニック・ブラヴーラ・コンサートスネアドラムでは、3 種類の
異なるスネアワイヤーを装備でき、それぞれを個別に交換することも可能
です。
スネアワイヤーを交換する際には、まずストレイナーをオフにしてくださ
い。次に交換するスネアワイヤーの両端にある角頭ボルト ( 写真 11 の G)
をチューニングキーで取り外してから、スネアワイヤーのテンション調整
ノブを緩め、スネアワイヤーをフレーム本体から取り外してください。
スネアワイヤーを取り付ける際には、スネアワイヤー両端のプレートを写
真 12 のようにフックに引っ掛けてから角頭ボルトで固定します。
最後にストレイナー側の 3 つのテンション調整ノブ C を締めて、スネアワ
イヤーがスネアヘッドと水平になるようにしてください。

スネアヘッドの交換
[STARPHONIC Bravura モデル ]
スターフォニック・コンサートスネアドラムでは、ドラムヘッドの交換の
際にテンションボルトをフープから抜き取る必要のないフリーダムラグが
採用されています。
ドラムヘッド交換時には、テンションボルトを緩めた後、写真 18 のように
フープを固定しているフックごとテンションボルトを斜めに倒し、フープ
を取り外してください。テンションボルトをラグから取り外す必要はあり
ません。
新しいドラムヘッドに交換した後は再びフープを取り付けて、テンション
ボルトの先端についたフックをフープの溝にはめ込むように固定します。
すべてのテンションボルトの取り付けが終わりましたら、通常のスネアド
ラムのようにチューニングを行ってください。
[STARPHONIC モデル ]
1. 打面ヘッドの交換
スターフォニック・ブラヴーラ・コンサートスネアドラムでは、ドラムヘッ
ドの交換の際にテンションボルトをフープから抜き取る必要のないフリー
ダムラグが採用されています。
ドラムヘッド交換時には、テンションボルトを緩めた後、写真 15 のように
フープを固定しているフックごとテンションボルトを斜めに倒し、フープ
を取り外してください。テンションボルトをラグから取り外す必要はあり
ません。
新しいドラムヘッドに交換した後は再びフープを取り付けて、テンション
ボルトの先端についたフックをフープの溝にはめ込むように固定します。
すべてのテンションボルトの取り付けが終わりましたら、通常のスネアド
ラムのようにチューニングを行ってください。
2. ボトムヘッドの交換
ボトムヘッドを交換する際には、最初にマルチ・スネア・フレームをスネ
ア本体から取り外す必要があります。
フレームをスネアドラム本体から取り外すには、フレーム側面にある 4 つ
の黒いフック ( 写真 16) を起こして、ストレイナーやバットと繋いでいる
黒いコードをフレームから取り外してください ( 写真 17)。
フレームをスネア本体から取り外した後は、打面ヘッドの場合と同様の手
順にてヘッドの交換を行ってください。
また、ヘッドの交換を行った際には、マルチ・スネア・フレームを取り外
す時と逆の手順でスネア本体に取り付けてください。その際、黒いスネア
コードを黒いフックを倒してセットしてください。フックでの固定を行わ
ない場合、演奏中にフレームが脱落することがあります。

マルチスネアフレーム取扱い方法
スターフォニック・ブラヴーラ・モデルでは、スネアワイヤーとスネアサ
イドヘッドとの接触具合を調整できる機構と、3 種類のスネアワイヤーのテ
ンションを個別に調整できる機構を取り入れたマルチスネアフレームを装
備しています。工場出荷時には、このフレームはストレイナー側に 3 つの

置を入れ替えることができます。
フレームをスネアドラム本体から取り外すには、フレーム側面にある 4 つ
の黒いフックをオフにして、ストレイナーやバット部と繋いでいる黒いス
ネアコードをフレームから取り外してください。フレームをスネア本体か
ら取り外したら ( 写真 19)、本体の左右の向きを反転させて取り外す際と逆
の手順で黒いコードをフレームに取り付けます。その際、黒いスネアコー
ドを黒いフックで必ずセットするようにしてください。フックでの固定を
行わない場合、演奏中にフレームが脱落するなどの現象が発生することが
あります。
[ マルチスネアフレームの取扱い上の注意 ]
※マルチスネアフレームは、スネアワイヤーのヘッドとの接触具合と、ス
ネアワイヤー自体のテンション調整を独立して調整できる 2 つの機能を同
時に実現するという機構上、スネアコードのみによるスネアドラム本体と
フレームの取り付け方法を採用しています。
そのためフレームに強い衝撃が加わると、フレーム本体およびドラムヘッ
ドやスネアワイヤーに損傷を与える恐れがあります。本フレームに強い衝
撃が加わらないようお取り扱いにはくれぐれもご注意ください。
※スネアサイド側のマルチスネアフレーム付近の 4 箇所のテンションボル
トには、金属製のスリーブを装着した長めボルトを採用しています。チュー
ニングのために机や床などに置いた時に、机や床にマルチスネアフレーム
直接が接触するのを避け、マルチスネアフレームを保護します。
この 4 箇所のテンションボルトを規定の場所以外にセットすると、マルチ
スネアフレームを保護するための機能が十分に発揮されないことがありま
す。これらのテンションボルトは既定の場所以外に使用しないようにして
ください。
※マルチスネアフレームは側面 4 か所に、スネアコードをひっかけるメタ
ルフックと黒いロックレバーが設置されています。ロックレバーをオフに
してスネアコードを外せば、スネアフレーム自体を取り外すことができま
す。スネアコードを取り外すと再度長さを調整する必要がありますので、
必要な時以外はスネアコードを外さないでください。

スネアドラムの性能を十分に引き出すためには正しいチューニングを行う
ことが必要です。そこでここでは一般的なチューニングの方法を紹介しま
す。
< テンション調整の方法 >
一般的にチューニングは、各テンションボルトの近くのヘッドを指やチュー
ニングキーなどで軽く叩き、写真 21 のような対角線の順に音程を揃えてい
きます。特定の場所を集中して締めすぎると、ヘッドに偏りが発生するた
めヘッド全体のテンションを揃えることが難しくなります。
チューニングキーで締める際に抵抗が感じられるくらいになったら、半回
転ずつ、4 分の 1 回転ずつなど少しずつテンションを掛けて、ヘッド全体
の音程を揃うようにします。
逆に音程を下げる際には、実際に下げる量より少し多めにテンションを緩
めた後、若干テンションを上げてから揃えるようにすると、音程を揃えや
すくなります。
また、特定の箇所のヘッドの音を聞き分けることは非常に難しいため、ヘッ
ド中央を指で軽くミュートしながらテンションボルトを締めると、各ボル
ト付近の音程が聴き取りやすくなります。
また、スネアサイドのエッジはスネアワイヤーの当たる部分が他に比べて
少し深く削られています。したがって、スネアワイヤーの近辺のテンショ
ンボルトは他より少し強めにテンションをかけることで、よりスネアワイ
ヤーの反応を高める効果が得られます。
< テンションウォッチによるテンションの確認 >
TAMA ではドラムのテンションを数値化して確認できるテンションウォッ
チ「TW100」「TW200」という商品を取り扱っています。
このテンションウォッチはヘッドの上に置くだけで、視覚的にテンション
を確認することができるため、チューニングを手軽に行うことができるよ
うになります。
※工場出荷時には REMO® の Diplomat® ヘッドで打面ヘッドを 80、スネ
アサイドヘッドを 55 にセットしています。
< スネアサイドヘッドのチューニング >
スネアドラムのチューニングでは、打面側 ( バターサイド ) と裏側 ( スネア
サイド ) のバランスを整えることが重要です。基本的にはバターサイドの
チューニングを行った際には、スネアサイドのチューニングも行うように
してください。
