5 Method of Heating
The heating fins are filled with a special oil that conducts heat from the heating element out
to the metal surfaces of the fins.
This in turn warms the air around them which gently and silently heats the room.
You will notice the surfaces in the room (i.e. walls, furniture, etc) will heat up and will radiate
the heat back into the room.
This type of heating is very different to the “normal” fan heater which only spot heats the air
and blows the heated air directly onto the person. (personal heater).
The Oil Filled Heater will warm the complete room and persons in the room. This type of
heating is not instantaneous and may take 30 – 60 minutes to reach full temperature
depending on the ambient temperature, room size, insulation, etc.
Be careful never to damage or puncture the fins because as the oil inside heats up, the
pressure inside rises creating a pressurised vessel.
Like any electrical appliance, this product may cause injury or could cause damage to
property if used whilst the heater is damaged.
6 Operation
NOTE: Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and
curtains, etc. at least 90cm from the top and all sides of the heater.
DO NOT drape clothes, laundry, towels etc. over the heater.
To use, insert the plug into the power point and switch on.
6.1 Low, Medium and High Heat Settings
•First, ensure the heater is plugged in and switched on at the power
point, the Timer Switch in the centre section of the Timer is set to
the “I” (On) position and that the adjustable room Thermostat is set
to the High Position. (Rotate Fully Clockwise).
Note: To use the timer function, refer to the “Timer” section in this manual.
•Switch “I”: With the “switch II” is in the “0” position, press “switch I” to the “I”
position for “Low Heat” setting. The Indicator Light in the switch will
illuminate indicating power is being supplied.
•Switch “II”: With the “switch I” is in the “0” position, press “switch II” to the
“II” position for “Medium Heat” setting. The Indicator Light in the switch will
illuminate indicating power is being supplied.

•Switch “I” and Switch “II”: press both switches to the “I” and “II” positions for “High Heat”
setting. Both Indicator Lights in the switches will illuminate indicating power is being
supplied.
•To switch heating off, switch both switches to the “0” position. Both Indicator Lights in the
switches will turn off.
•When first setting up the temperature setting, switch on both switches “I” and “II” to (High
Heat Setting) and turn the thermostat clockwise to “High”.
•When the room reaches the desired temperature, still with both switches set to “I” and “II”
(High Heat Setting), slowly turn the thermostat down (anticlockwise) until you hear it
“Click” off. The Indicator Lights will turn off.
•Leave the thermostat in this position and the heater will now cycle on and off and maintain
the desired room temperature.
•As the heater cycles on and off, the indicator lights in the switches will also turn on and off.
Note: As the thermostat maintains room temperature it will switch on and off. As it
switches on and off, you may notice a blue flash from inside the heater. This is NOT
dangerous and no cause for alarm. It is the Room Thermostat contacts operating.
•At the same time you turn down the room thermostat, you may switch off one of the heat
switches to reduce the power consumption. This will set the heating elements to either low
or medium depending on which switch you turn off, but will increase the amount of time it
takes to reheat.
•On very cold days this may not be practical, as heat losses can exceed the heat
generated by your heater. Larger rooms and open space areas may also find the low or
medium heat setting ineffective.
•You will need to experiment with this heater to establish the exact setting required for any
particular room or space.
•Best performance and efficiency is achieved with an insulated home, closed windows &
doors and with drapes closed.
CAUTION: Even after the heater has been turned off, it will remain very hot for some time.
DO NOT touch the hot surfaces during heating or after being turned off.
Keep children away from the heater at all times.

6.2 Timer
The heater is equipped with a timer so that it can be programmed to switch on and off at
your desired time.
NOTE: As with all electrical appliances, never use the heater when unattended or asleep.
Always switch off and unplug electrical appliances when not in use and when leaving the
house.
This timer is a 24 hour timer and is divided into 15 minute intervals.
Power supply to the heater is required for the timer to keep time. If the heater is unplugged
from the power point, the timer will stop.
Next time the heater is plugged in and switched on at the power point, the timer will need
to be set to the current time again as follows:
1. Plug the heater into the power point and switch on.
2. Rotate the outer section of the timer (Clockwise Only) so the
current time of day lines up with the small arrow. (DO NOT
TURN IT COUNTER CLOCKWISE)
I.E. if the current time is 4.00pm, rotate the outer section of
the timer (Clockwise Only) until “16” lines up with the
arrow tip. “16” represents 16.00 hours which is 4pm.
If the current time is 9.30pm, rotate the outer section of the timer (Clockwise
Only) until the arrow tip lines up half way between 21 and 22. “21” represents
21.00 hours which is 9pm and “22” represents 22.00 hours which is10pm.
Each increment between the main numbers are 15 minute intervals.
3. The timer has a small switch in the centre section. The function of this switch is as
follows: “I” = Unit is always On,= Timer function is ON and “0” = Timer function
and heater is Off.
4. Set the timer switch to position.
There are 96 small plastic pins on the timer. Each pin corresponds to 15 minutes
interval.
Pushing the Pin outward sets the time you want the heater to turn ON.
Pushing the Pins inward sets the time you want the heater to turn OFF.

i.e. With the timer set to the current time (say for example 4pm “16” on the timer) and
you wish the heater to turn on at 5pm and turn off at 8pm, push all the Pins
outward that are between the numbers 17 and 20. “17 represents 17.00 hours
which is 5pm and 20 represents 20.00 hours which is 8pm.
You can set the heater to turn on and off multiple times a day by setting the pins as
desired.
If you wish to use the heater continuously without the timer function, set the timer
switch to the “I” (On) Position.
If you wish to stop the timer function and prevent heating, set the timer switch to the
“0” (Off) position.
Note:
The indicator lights, in the heat selector switches, will be On when the timer is set to “I”
(On) position or the timing function is set on has switched On the heating function.
The indicator lights, in the heat selector switches, will be Off when the timer is set to
“0” (Off) position or the timing function is set on has switched Off the heating function.
CAUTION: Do not use the timer function unattended or while asleep.
The heater will not operate if timer is set to the position but the pins are not set
according to the times required.
If the heater loses its electricity supply, e.g. Switched off at the mains socket or in the
event of a power failure, the current time of day will need to be reset again after the
power is resupplied and if you wish to use the timer function.
7 Cleaning
Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carried out, DISCONNECT the appliance
from the ELECTRICITY supply.
If the appliance is hot, allow it to completely cool before cleaning.
