INTRODUCTION
The mr Handsfree Blue Alert Gold is a unique 2-in-1 device that combines a Bluetooth®handsfree carkit with a legal GPS
speed camera warning system.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS WHEN USING THE BLUE ALERT GOLD FOR THE
FIRST TIME:
Place the battery.
Charge the battery.
Set the device ON.
Important!
You have 3options:
Option 1: The Blue Alert Gold can be used as Bluetooth®carkit ONLY.
(No speed camera warnings will be given in this setting!)

Option 2: The Blue Alert Gold can be used as Bluetooth®carkit + GPS warning system.

Option 3: the Blue Alert Gold can be used as GPS warning system ONLY.
It is possible to use the Blue Alert Gold without a connection with your mobile phone during 1 hour (for camera warnings only).
After 1 hour the unit will turn off automatically (to save the battery).
To re-start this “GPS only” function without mobile phone/Bluetooth®connection, press and hold the CENTRAL BUTTON to
continue your trip for another hour.

4. Choose / select language.
The GPS warning system of the Blue Alert Gold can be programmed into 5 different languages:
English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Set the language of the GPS warning system
→ See p.8MENUBUTTON–Language’.
5. Pair the mobile phone to the Blue Alert Gold.
→ Seep.5.CENTRALBUTTON–Pairing’
6. Install the Blue Alert Gold software on your PC.
You can find this CD in the box. This CD contains download software. This software enables your PC to download the data-
base with camera locations into your Blue Alert Gold.
7. Go to www.mrhandsfree.com to download the database into your Blue Alert Gold.
8. Connect the Blue Alert Gold with the USB cable to your PC.
9. Download the database into your Blue Alert Gold.
See separate sheet ‘DOWNLOADDATABASELOCATIONS’.
10. Mount the Blue Alert Gold on the dashboard of your car.

INSTALLATION OF THE BLUE ALERT GOLD
You have 2 installation options: on the sun visor (a) and on the dashboard (b)
a) On the sun visor (see illustration II): you need holder + clip
=> How to change display for sun visor position?
In the menu, there is an option to turn the information
on the display in the good position for sun visor mounting.
• Press the MENU-button 12 times until “Ud.OF” appears on the display
(Ud = ‘Upside down’)
• Press the ADD/DEL button to change the direction (On= upside down).
=> LED brightness:
When you choose to mount the Blue Alert Gold on your car’s sun visor, the information on the display could be rather bright for
your eyes, especially when driving at night. How to adjust the LED brightness?
• Press the MENU-button 13 times until “LEd 3” appears on the display.
• Press the ADD/DEL button to set the LED brightness: 1 = low brightness, 2 = middle brightness, 3 = high brightness
b) On the dashboard (see illustration V):
Fix the Blue Alert Gold on the dashboard using the non slip rubber pads or Velcro strips (see ‘illustration V’)
1. Non slip rubber pads: The rubber pads (= non slip) will help preventing the Blue Alert Gold from slipping on the dashboard.

Installation tips:
• Make sure the dashboard is clean and free of dust or grease before sticking the Velcro strips! (for dashboard mount)
• Make sure the unit is clean and free of dust or grease before placing the non slip parts. (for dashboard mount)
• For optimal performance, the microphone should always be located at a maximum distance of 50 cm from the driver’s mouth.
• The LED-screen with built-in microphone should be directed to the driver.
Make sure that the mounting cannot cause any damage to your body or your passengers body in case of an accident or
unexpected movement !
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The Blue Alert Gold comes with a rechargeable battery. Open the battery compartment cover and place the battery
(See illustration III). Make sure that the Blue Alert Gold is fully charged before using the device!
Important!
Only use the original chargers included in the packaging to avoid damages.
The Blue Alert Gold offers 2 charging options:
1. Via the USB cable: connected to your computer
2. Via the car charger: connected to the cigarette lighter
The LED indicator (5) will light red when the charging process begins.
The battery is fully charged when the red LED indicator (5) turns off.
Important!
If the Blue Alert Gold has not been used for a long time, it might take some time before the red LED indicator (5) will turn on.
To ensure optimal battery quality, you should always charge the battery when the red LED indicator (5) is ashing.

PARTS & FUNCTIONS

1. CENTRAL BUTTON
(=ON/OFF-button and button for Pairing / Answer a call / End a call / Reject a call / Voice dialing / Redial / 2nd call )
Turning on:
Press and hold (3 sec) the Central button (1) until you hear a melody and the blue LED indicator (4) starts flashing.
Turning off:
Press and hold (3 sec) the Central button (1) until you hear a melody and the red LED indicator (4) lights up briefly before
turning off again.
Attention!
The Blue Alert Gold will also turn off automatically if there has been no Bluetooth®connection between the Blue Alert Gold
and another mobile device for more than 1 hour.
Pairing:
You are required to pair the BlueAlert Gold with your mobile phone before using it! Make sure that the BlueAlert Gold is turned off
(LED indicator = off). → Make sure that the Bluetooth® function of your mobile phone is turned on and let your phone search
for Bluetooth®devices. → Press and hold the Central button (1) of the Blue Alert Gold until the LED indicator (5) starts flash-
ing by blue and red colours alternately.
Your mobile phone, which is still in search mode, will show the Blue Alert Gold in the list of found Bluetooth® devices.→ Select
the Blue Alert Gold in your mobile phone and enter the PIN code 0000 to pair both devices. →The blue LED indicator (5) will
start flashing again. You will hear a long beep.

Answer a call:
Press the Central button (1) to answer a call.
End a call:
Press the Central button (1) to end the current call.
Reject a call:
Press the Central button (1) for 3 seconds to reject the call.
Voice dialing:
Press the Central button (1) until you hear a tone that indicates that you can pronounce the desired name (=’voice tag’).
→ Say the voice tag. →The phone will now play the voice tag and starts dialing the related phone number.
Redial:
Press the Central button (1) 2 x quickly. → The phone will dial the last dialed number.
2nd call:
Double press the Central button (1) once shortly to answer the 2nd call and to put the current call on hold. Press the Central
button (1) twice to switch between two calls. Press the Central button (1) once during the 2nd call, to end one of the two
calls.
2.GPS SWITCH
(to switch the GPS warning system function on or off)
To switch the GPS warning system function on:
Slide the GPS Switch (2) to the right. Your unit is in ON position (Blue LED indicator is flashing).
You will hear “Fasten your seatbelt. Be careful.”
(= ‘ready’) will now appear on the display.

3. (+) AND (-) VOLUME BUTTON
(Adjusting the volume of the Bluetooth®carkit / Restoring default settings of the Bluetooth®carkit)
Adjusting the volume of the Bluetooth®carkit:
Press (+) to increase the volume level.
Press (-) to decrease the volume level.
Restoring default settings of the Bluetooth®carkit:
In Standby mode, press and hold both Volume buttons (+) & (-) simultaneously for 10 seconds. You will hear two beeps and the
blue and red LED indicator will flash alternately.
4. MODE BUTTON
(Activate Mute mode / Transferring calls from the Blue Alert Gold to the mobile phone and back)
Activate Mute mode:
During a conversation, press and hold the MODE button (4) for 3 seconds to temporarily turn off the microphone of the
Blue Alert Gold. The red and blue LED indicator will flash alternately.
Deactivate Mute mode:
Press and hold the MODE button (4) for 3 seconds.
Transferring calls from the Blue Alert Gold to the mobile phone and back:
During a conversation, press the MODE button (4) twice to continue the conversation through your mobile phone. To con-
tinue the conversation through the Blue Alert Gold, press the MODE button (1) twice again.

5. LED INDICATOR
(Can turn red/blue or red & blue)
Red indicator: - Flashes in Standby mode: low battery capacity (+ warning tones)
- Lights continuously while charging the battery or when in mute mode
Blue indicator: - Flashes in Standby mode
- Lights continuously during a call
Red + blue indicator: - Flash alternately in Pairing mode
- Flash alternately after restoring default settings
6. MICROPHONE
At all times, please point the microphone (6) (located in the LED screen) towards your mouth. For optimal perform-
ance, the microphone should be located at a maximum distance of 50 cm from the drivers’ mouth. Make sure no
objects are located in front of the microphone.
7. MENU BUTTON
Using this button you enter into the menu where various settings for the GPS warning system can be pro-
grammed.
Conrmation of requested setting is done by the ‘ADD/DEL button (9)’ (see next chapter).
