in its entirety before using the product to get the best performance and ensure
safe and proper operation.

Precautions for use
oDo not use any battery other than the NP-L7S made by IDX Company, Ltd.
oIncorrect battery handling could cause rupture, fire, smoke, heat or fluid leak-
age and could lead to reduced performance or malfunction. Always abide by
the prohibitions in the battery owner’s manual.
oBatteries (including products that contain them) should not be exposed to
sunshine, fire or excessive heat.
oDo not connect the output cable of this unit to its DC IN connector when
batteries are installed. Doing so might reduce performance or cause a
malfunction.
oBefore changing the batteries, turn the LX-1000 off. Furthermore, if a power
cord is connected to the DC IN connector, disconnect it.
oAlways use batteries in sets of three.
oCharge the batteries completely using the following battery charger before use.

oAlways remove batteries before disposing of this product. To dispose of a
removed battery, follow the instructions in its manual.
oAlways remove the batteries before transporting this product.
oThis product is designed specifically for the LX-1000. Do not use it with any
other product.
Assembly procedures
1 Remove the rubber feet from the LX-1000 unit.
Keep the removed rubber feet and screws.

2 Use screws to attach the LX-1000 unit and the BU-LX1000
battery unit(s).
Use the included connection screws to attach them at the joints (in
4locations).
Tighten the screws with a torque of 60N·cm (6kgf·cm).
3 Attach the rubber feet removed from the LX-1000 unit to the
bottom of the BU-LX1000 battery unit.
Tighten the screws with a torque of 60N·cm (6kgf·cm).

Connecting cables
When using the main unit (LX-1000) alone or with a single expansion unit
(AU-LX1000EPIO), they can be powered with a single battery unit (BU-LX1000).
When using two or three expansion units, two battery units are necessary.
Connect battery units and, if using them, AC adapters (included with the
LX-1000) as shown in the following illustrations.

Using with an external power supply
Power can be supplied to the LX-1000 by connecting AC adapters included with
the LX-1000 to the DC IN connectors of BU-LX1000 units.
The LX-1000 unit operates on 8V–36V DC.
To supply power using equipment other than the included AC adapter, correctly
follow the pin number assignments in the “DC IN power connector” chapter of
the LX-1000 Instructions for Use.
Equipment could be damaged if connections are made with incorrect pin num-
bers or voltage that exceeds the guaranteed voltage operating range is supplied.
Installing and removing batteries

Screw A
1 Loosen the 2 screws (A) on the front and open the cover.
2 Insert the batteries (3) in the direction shown by the arrows
on them.
3 Close the cover and tighten the two screws (A) to x it in
place.
oFollow these procedures in reverse to remove the batteries.
