IMPORTANT SA ETY INSTRUCTIONS
Before using this appliance, read all instructions
and familiarise yourself with the operation of the
unit
1. This appliance can be used by children aged fro
eight (8) years and above, persons with reduced
physical, sensory or ental capabilities, or persons
with lack of experience and knowledge only if they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user
aintenance shall not be ade by children without
supervision.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
3. The unit should only be used in accordance with
these instructions. Do not carry out any
aintenance other than is shown in these
instructions or as advised by Teal Patents service
support.
4. Do not connect the electrical ele ents with wet
hands.
5. Do not use with a da aged cable or connector. If
the supply cable is da aged, it ust be replaced by
the anufacturer, its service agent or si ilarly
qualied persons, in order to avoid a hazard.
6. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, da aged or sub erged in water do not
use. Contact the seller or Teal Patents.
7. Do not dis antle the unit or atte pt to repair the
unit.
8. This equip ent is for heating water for
handwashing only. It is not designed for washing of
crockery or other ite s.
9. Water dispensed is not suitable for drinking.
10. Water is dispensed at a te perature of 38-40˚C.
11. The appliance ust be connected to a otor
vehicle power supply.
12. Do not stretch the cable and beware of sharp
corners which ay da age the cable.
13. Unit ust be ounted on the vehicle using suitable
ttings.
14. Unit should be positioned where it does not
obstruct access to key ele ents of the otor
vehicle.
15. Unit ust only be lled with clean cold water.
16. Do not overll, only ll to the level of the bae.
17. The unit should not be operated without water.
18. This unit ust not be subjected to a high pressure
water jet.
19. Waste water is discharged fro the base of the unit.
A suitable container ust be in place to collect this
water.
20. Any spillages should be cleaned-up as soon as
possible to avoid slipping hazards.
21. Waste water should be disposed of to a foul drain.
22. Keep unit away fro direct heat sources.
23. Do not place in a hot area of ore than 150˚C.
24. Do not alter the unit in any way this will invalidate
the warranty and ay ake it unsafe to operate.

Non voltage sensing

anage ent syste ’, ‘s art alternator’ or other si ilar
ter s.
In these syste s, when driving the vehicle alternator is
periodically disconnected fro the battery to increase
econo y.
Your Teal sink will have 3 wires connected.
•12V + Red. To vehicle battery or auxiliary battery.
•0V - Black. To vehicle battery negative.
•White signal wire (W.W.). When the W.W. receives a
positive signal, the sink will switch on.
The ost co on connection for the W.W. is at the
ignition fuse, though alternative connection points ay
be used. Do not connect the W.W. to other vehicle
syste s that ight have alternate power e.g. alar s as
the Teal sink ay not switch o.
The unit will switch o (regardless of W.W. voltage) when
less than 11.9 volts are detected, thus preserving the
battery’s integrity.
Consult the vehicle handbook as to how to connect the
Red/Black wires to the battery as direct connection to the
battery ter inals can defeat the ‘battery anage ent
syste ’ – if tted.
Voltage sensing
In these syste s the alternator will charge the battery
whenever the engine is running.
Your Teal sink will have 2 wires connected.
•12V + Red. To vehicle battery or auxiliary battery.
•0V - Black. To vehicle battery negative.
The White signal wire is unused.
The unit will switch on when it detects a voltage above
13.8 volts and switch o below 12.8 volts.
Consult the vehicle handbook as to how to connect the
Red/Black wires to the battery as direct connection to
the battery ter inals can defeat the ‘battery
anage ent syste ’ – if tted.

Installation

or operation using an auxiliary leisure battery
where the voltage output is at a static +/-12 volts
Non voltage sensing.
Your Teal sink will have 3 wires connected.
•12V + Red. To auxiliary battery.
•0V - Black. To vehicle battery negative.
•White signal wire (W.W.) to 12V +. To auxiliary
battery.
The unit will switch o when less than 11.9 volts are
detected, thus preserving the battery’s integrity.
To control this unit the installing auto electrician ust
wire the positive feed (red) via a switch or relay.
24V installation details:
non ‘smart’ charging / traditional vehicles
Voltage sensing.
In these syste s the alternator will charge the battery
whenever the engine is running.
Your Teal sink will have 2 wires connected.
•12V + Red. To vehicle battery or auxiliary battery.
•0V - Black. To vehicle battery negative.
The White signal wire is unused.
The unit will switch on when it detects a voltage above
25.6 volts and switch o below 25.1 volts.
Consult the vehicle handbook as to how to connect the
Red/Black wires to the battery as direct connection to
the battery ter inals can defeat the ‘battery
anage ent syste ’ – if tted.
Vehicle Mounting
This unit has been designed for xing to a otor vehicle
only. It ust not be used in any other application.
Before installation check that you have all the parts
listed.
Please ensure that you use appropriate ttings before
co encing.
Before co encing installation check that you have
appropriate tools and a suitable workspace.
Failure to follow these instructions ay result in
personal injury, da age to the product or da age to
property.
Check that you will not need to access the area or
ele ents within it in the position where you intend to
x the TEALwash.
If you are unsure consult a suitable qualied installer.
Ensure that the position of the unit allows sucient
space for the opening of the lid and the safe opening of
the bowl.
Using the supplied te plate identify the locations for
the 4 ounting points.
Fit suitable fasteners in each hole.
Mount the unit using the 4 bolts provided.
Note: the bowl ust be lowered to provide access to the
two lower ounting holes.
Do not overtighten xings as this ay da age the unit.
Take care not to drop tools or xings into the unit.
Check that the unit is upright and level before lling.
Electrical Connection
This unit ust be connected to a vehicle’s electrical
power supply using cable provided. Do not atte pt to
replace this.
Waste Water
Attach the waste water hose to the waste pipe on the
botto of the handwash unit using the clip provided.
Ensure that the hose is located past the raised ridge on
the waste pipe before tting the clip.
Do not overtighten the clip as this ay da age the unit.
A container ust be placed to collect the waste water.
Suitable containers are available fro Teal Patents or the
retailer.
Waste water hose ay be cut to suit position of unit and
waste container.
Mounting the TEALwash

Fill the unit with cold water until water can be seen
below the bae.
Do not use pre-heated water as this ay da age the
unit.
Do not overll – if there is water above the bae use the
tap to reduce the water level before operating.
Close lid and ensure seal is fully engaged.
Connect to the vehicle’s power supply to switch on the
unit.
An orange LED indicates that the power is connected.
Allow to heat up for approxi ately 15 inutes.
The green LED will light to indicate water is at the
correct te perature.
Use tap to discharge water to wash hands.
If a continuous ow of water is required fully depress
the tap lever.
Note: a re ovable bowl (part nu ber TW Loose bowl) is
available as an optional extra if you prefer to wash
hands in this anner.
Waste water will drain fro the sink, inside the bowl and
down through the waste pipe into a container.
If water sits in the bowl, slowly close the sink to allow
the water to drain away.
When the sink is closed, waste water will ow into the
waste water hose and the waste water container.
When the water tank is e pty of water the red LED will
light.
Disconnect the unit and allow to cool before relling.
LED display
The unit has an LED display to indicate the status.
LASHING GREEN - unit on standby. Either waiting for
higher battery voltage or white wire to go to +12V.
SOLID GREEN - unit at te perature.
SOLID AMBER - unit heating.
SOLID RED – no water / tilt fault.
LASHING RED - hardware fault.
Operating instructions
E pty the waste water container to a foul water drain
and rinse with clean water. Ensure hose is fully e ptied
before re oving container, to avoid spills.
If unit is left unused for an extended period it is
reco ended that it is e ptied of water and
replenished with fresh water.
Clean all surfaces with an anti-bacterial wipe or
disinfectant paying particular attention to frequent
contact points.
Do not use abrasive cleaners which ay scratch the
external surfaces.
This unit ust not be subjected to a high pressure water
jet.
It is reco ended that the unit is cleaned with a
cleaning solution such as Milton according to the
instructions on a weekly basis.

Optional extras
At the end of its useful life, the
handwash unit should not be disposed
of in general household waste.
Units should be taken to a recycling
facility for electrical and electronic
ite s.
Please see WEEE regulations.
Disposal

All Teal Patents products are tested before leaving the
factory.
The unit is covered by a two year return to anufacturer
warranty fro date of purchase – please ensure that you
retain proof of purchase.
Any faulty ite s will be repaired or replaced, and the
repairs guaranteed for the re ainder of the original
warranty period.
Should a unit need repair, those repairs only will be
covered by a further 12 onths warranty.
Exclusions
Teal Patents will not be liable to repair or replace goods
where:
•The fault has been caused through isuse,
accidental da age, use contrary to the
anufacturers instructions, da age in transit or
power surges.
•The appliance has been used on a voltage supply
other than that specied on the product
•Repairs have been atte pted by so eone other
than Teal Patents or an authorised dealer
•The appliance is second hand
•The warranty does not cover any clai s for
consequential loss or da age.
This guarantee does not eect your statutory rights as a
consu er.
Guarantee
No water dispensed. Check water level in tank
Water cold. Check Orange LED is on. If not, check power
supply. If LED is on leave unit for 15 inutes to fully heat
water. If water is still cold unplug unit and return to
supplier.
Red LED solid. Unit cut-out activated.
•Low water.
•Check water level. Rell if required and press
and release reset button.
•Unit tilted.
•Return unit to upright position. Rell if
required and press and release reset button.
Red LED ashing. Hardware fault.
•Unplug unit. Check water level and rell if required.
Plug unit in. If fault persists contact Teal or the
retailer.
Water around unit. Clean up any spillage fro lling
unit. Check waste pipe is securely tted. If further water
is seen switch o unit and contact the supplier for
advice.
