5. MAINTENANCE POLICY
The Component Maintenance Manual provides procedures that will enable
an approved repairer, who is unfamiliar with the component, to restore
the Soap Dispenser to a serviceable condition. These procedures are
prepared for the shop mechanic who performs work.
6. REVISION SERVICE
This manual will be updated as required by revisions. Changes to
hardware given in service bulletins will be included in this manual
with revisions. Configuration changes will be shown in the text by the
service bulletin number, i.e. pre SB- and post SB-. Procedures of
illustrations not identified by pre SB- or post SB- refers to all
configurations.
7. SHOP VERIFICATION
The procedures within this manual have been shop verified by the
manufacturer. The sections Testing, Disassembly and Assembly and
Storage were verified by actually performing the functions described in
these sections.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1. GENERAL
This section has description and operation information for the Liquid
Soap Dispenser.
WARNING: IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE OF THE LIQUID
SOAP DISPENSER, LIQUID SOAP MUST HAVE A VISCOSITY < 30
MPA/S, NACL-SHARE < 1 % AND BE FREE OF ALCOHOL AND
AROMATIC COMPOUNDS. WE RECOMMEND TO USE ONLY THE ORIGINAL
APPROVED SOAP MANUFACTURED BY CBS - CARSTEN DAUS GMBH.
2. DESCRIPTION
NOTE: The piston assembly is interchangeable for all versions.
A. The Liquid Soap Dispenser, herein referred to as the unit, is
installed in aircraft lavatories. The unit is mounted on the
lavatory cabinet surface; the soap container is mounted in the
cabinet. At standard installation, the soap container is mounted
vertically below the dispenser.
NOTE: If soap container cannot be installed vertically below the
dispenser use a flexible tube of appropriate length to
connect the dispenser to the soap container.
B. The piston assy (1-10) and piston (2-10) are made of vanadium steel;
cover (2-60) and shank (3-10) are made of ABS-plastic. The cover is
chrome-plated.
C. The Liquid Soap Dispensers consist mainly of 3 or 4 parts:
- Piston Assy (faucet/pump) which is mounted on the counter top
- Shank Assy which is installed through a hole in the counter top
and supports the Piston Assy
- flexible hose that connects the soap container with the dispenser
(except B822 Series)
- Soap Container (250 ml, 500 ml or 1000 ml) and a wall mounted
holder (except B822 Series) for the soap container
Part numbers containing the letter “K”are lockable versions.
B822- Series = The soap container is mounted vertically below the
dispenser as standard. Available with 2.5”or 4.0”
piston spout length, 250 ml, 500 ml or 1000 ml soap
container, placard in English, English/German,
English/French, English/Spanish or English/Italian

B822K Series = key version (lockable) of B822- Series.
B823- Series = Version with soap container mounted in a displaced
position and connected to the dispenser by a flexible
hose/tube of appropriate length. Available with 2.5”

B823K Series = key version (lockable) of B823- Series.

only a few models are still in use.
B825K Series = key version (lockable) of B825- Series. - This is the
previous version of the B828K Series and only a few
models are still in use.
B828- Series = Version with soap container mounted in a displaced
position and connected to the dispenser by a flexible
metal pipe of appropriate length. Available with 2.5”
or 4.0”piston spout length, 500 ml or 1000 ml soap
container, placard in different languages (see above).
B828K Series = key version (lockable) of B828- Series.
3. OPERATION
A. The piston conveys approx. 0,76 ml (0.03 oz.) soap to the piston
outlet by each manual depression of the piston. Single-hand
operation of the unit is possible.
NOTE: Cleaning of the soap container must be carried out after
18 months (Ref. to chapter CLEANING).
4. TECHNICAL DATA
A. Filling capacity
The unit is available with a filling capacity of:
- approx. 0,25 l (8.45 oz.) for approx. 325 washings
- approx. 0,50 l (16.19 oz.) for approx. 650 washings
- approx. 1,00 l (33.81 oz.) for approx. 1300 washings
