the unit. When removing the cord from the power out et, remove it by ho ding the p ug not by pu ing the cord.

11- When wiring this unit and a other equipment used in connection to this unit make sure that a of your equipment is turned OFF.
12- Once insta ation and wiring is comp ete power on a your equipment with the vo ume and eve contro s turned DOWN. Once a
the equipment is ON s ow y raise the vo ume or eve contro s to their proper positions.
13- When grounding this unit, be sure to do so correct y, so as not to defeat the bui t-in grounding in this unit.
14- When you have finished using this unit, be sure that both tray doors are c osed using the open / c ose button before powering off
the unit.
15- Before p acing, insta ing, rigging, or suspending any product, inspect a hardware, suspension, cabinets, transducers, brackets
and associated equipment for damage. Any missing, corroded, deformed, or non- oad rated component cou d significant y reduce
the strength of the insta ation, p acement or array. Any such condition severe y reduces the safety of the insta ation and shou d be
immediate y corrected. Use on y hardware which is rated for the oading conditions of the insta ation and any possib e short-term,

Congratu ations and thank you for your purchase of this Technica Pro Professiona 4 Channe Mixer, the DJ5U.To get the
most from your DJ5U, it is recommended that you review a of the information provided in this instruction manua before
operating this equipment.
If you've spent any time at a in professiona audio, you know the name Technica Pro and what it stands for — incredib e
performance & sound, and the u timate in re iabi ity under harsh conditions. And now, Technica Pro offers the same
techno ogy in a series of professiona mixers bringing more of what sets Technica Pro apart from a others.

DJ5U Top Pane :
1. Microphone Volume Control: U e thi knob to adju t the volume of the microphone .
2. Microphone Ba Control: U e thi knob to adju t the microphone’ ba
3. Microphone Treble Control: U e thi knob to adju t the microphone’ treble.
4. Aux (1/8”) Input: Connect your MP3 player or computer here. Make ure to pre the input elector button
(5) until “MP3” appear on the di play creen to play the ignal from the MP3 player or computer.
5. Microphone XLR Input: Connect your microphone to thi XLR input. The microphone volume will be
controlled by the microphone volume knob (1).
6. Seven Band Equalizer (Left Channel): U e the lider to increa e or decrea e the re pective frequencie .
The equalization point are 63Hz,125Hz, 250Hz, 2KHz, 4KHz, 8KHz and 16KHz.
7. LED Sound Meter: The meter will re pond to the ignal connected to the unit’ input.
8. Seven Band Equalizer (Right Channel): U e the lider to increa e or decrea e the re pective frequencie .
The equalization point are 63Hz,125Hz, 250Hz, 2KHz, 4KHz, 8KHz and 16KHz.
9. Power Button: Before the unit i powered on, all of the level control hould be turned down all the way.
Once powered on, lowly begin to rai e the level of the input . Thi will prevent damaging both the peaker
and the amplifier.
10. SD Card Input: In ert your SD card into thi lot. The unit will only read .mp3 & .wma file from SD card.
The maximum torage ize of the SD card cannot exceed 32GB. The SD Card will operate on Channel 2.
Make ure the Channel 2 input elector i et to USB/SD to play the ignal from the SD Card.
11. USB Input: In ert your USB fla h drive into thi lot. The unit will only read .mp3 & .wma file from the
USB fla h drive. The maximum torage ize of the USB fla h drive cannot exceed 32GB. The USB will
operate on Channel 2. Make ure the Channel 2 input elector i et to USB/SD to play the ignal from the
USB fla h drive.
Do NOT attempt to connect a computer, laptop or MP3 player directly to the USB input a it will not be able
to read the audio file from tho e device .

12. Play / Pau e Button: When the Channel 2 input elector i et to USB/SD, pre thi button to pau e the
ignal from the USB fla h drive or SD card connected to the USB/SD input. Pre thi button again to play.
The play/pau e function will only work for the USB fla h drive & SD card input .
13. Previou Track Button: When the Channel 2 input elector i et to USB/SD, Pre thi button to go back
to the beginning of the previou track on either the USB fla h drive or SD Card input .
14. Next Track Button: When the Channel 2 input elector i et to USB/SD, Pre thi button to go forward
to the beginning of the next track on either the USB fla h drive or SD Card input .
15. Microphone ¼” Input: Connect your microphone to thi ¼” input. The microphone volume will be
controlled by the microphone volume knob (1).
16. Headphone Output: Connect your headphone here. Make ure the headphone volume knob (21) i turned
down before making the connection.
The output of the headphone will be determined by the Monitor Selector (19).
17. Ba Control: Turn thi knob in order to increa e the ba for channel 1-4
18. Balance Control: U e thi knob to adju t the balance to the right or left. To keep the balance centered
keep thi knob i the center po ition.
19. Monitor Selector: U e thi knob to elect which channel( ) will be played through the headphone output.
Select CH1 to hear Channel 1 through the headphone (etc..). Select Mic to hear the microphone through
the headphone . Select Main to hear all channel / microphone through the headphone . Be ure to have
the headphone volume knob (21) turned down, until you are ready to u e the headphone and then lowly
turn up the volume.
20. CH2 / CH3 Cro fader: The cro fader will allow you to mix the audio from channel 2 & 3 and play that
audio through the output . Set the cro fader to the left to hear channel 2 only. Set the cro fader to the
right to hear channel 3 only. Set the cro fader to the middle to hear both channel 2 & 3.
21. Headphone Volume Knob: Turn thi knob to increa e or decrea e the volume of the headphone . The
volume hould be et to zero and then lowly turned up.

drive or SD Card Input .
29. Treble Control: Turn thi knob in order to increa e the treble for channel 1-4.
30. Mid Control: Turn thi knob in order to increa e the mid level ignal for channel 1-4.
31. Ma ter Volume Control: Move thi lider up to increa e and down to decrea e the ma ter volume.
32. Channel 4 Volume Control: Move thi lider up to increa e and down to decrea e Channel 4 volume.
33. Channel 3 Volume Control: Move thi lider up to increa e and down to decrea e Channel 3 volume.
34. Channel 2 Volume Control: Move thi lider up to increa e and down to decrea e Channel 2 volume.
35. Channel 1 Volume Control: Move thi lider up to increa e and down to decrea e Channel 1 volume.

DJ5U Rear Pane :
1. Power Supply: Only u e the power cord provided with the unit to power the unit. When connecting and
di connecting the power cord, be ure the power of the unit i off. Connect the cord to the rear of the unit
and then connect it to the outlet.
2. Fu e: The fu e pecification are .5A /250V. If your fu e i blown, replace the fu e with one of the exact ame
pecification .
3. Ma ter Output 1 (RCA): Connect the ma ter output to the device next in the ignal path (pre-amplifier,
equalizer, amplifier..)
4. Ma ter Output 2 (RCA): Connect the ma ter output to the device next in the ignal path (pre-amplifier,
equalizer, amplifier..)
5. Line 4 Input (RCA): Connect the output from your tereo audio ource (CD Player, DVD player, Laptop…)
to thi input. Thi input will be controlled by Channel 4.
6. Phono 4 Input (RCA): Connect the output from your phono audio ource (Mixer) to thi input. Thi input
will be controlled by Channel 4.
7. Line 3 Input (RCA): Connect the output from your tereo audio ource (CD Player, DVD player, Laptop…)
to thi input. Thi input will be controlled by Channel 3.
8. AUX Input (RCA): Connect the output from your tereo audio ource (mp3 Player) to thi input. Thi input
will be controlled by Channel 3.
9. Line 2 Input (RCA): Connect the output from your tereo audio ource (CD Player, DVD player, Laptop…)
to thi input. Thi input will be controlled by Channel 2.
10. USB/SD Input (RCA): Connect the output from your tereo audio ource (CD Player, DVD player,
Laptop…) to thi input. Thi input will be controlled by Channel 2.
11. Line 1 Input (RCA): Connect the output from your tereo audio ource (CD Player, DVD player,
Laptop…) to thi input. Thi input will be controlled by Channel 1.
12. Phono 1 Input (RCA): Connect the output from your phono audio ource (Mixer) to thi input. Thi input
will be controlled by Channel 1.

Operating Instructions:
Power
Connection
AC Power cord Connection
To connect the power cord to your unit imply plug female ide of the power cord into the power cord input
which i on the rear of the unit. Then plug the male ide of the power cord to an electric outlet. The AC
power cord upplied purpo efully ha polarized 2 blade with one wider than the other. If your outlet i not
equipped to handle thi type of plug, do not attempt to forcefully plug thi AC power cord into the outlet, and
do not alter the plug o that it can fit in the outlet. The only cour e of action you can take i to find another
outlet which i properly equipped to handle a grounded plug or have an electrician upgrade your electrical
outlet. Be ure that the plug i well connected o that it doe not fall out while you are in the middle of
u age. If at any point in time the upplied AC power cord i punctured or damaged replace it with a new
power cord from a local electrician.
Power Switch
After the power cord i connected the unit will till not be powered on until the power witch i pu hed into
the “On” po ition. When turned on, the power indicator will illuminate, to indicate that the unit i indeed
powered on and ready to receive a ignal. Once the unit i witched off, the LED will turn off after a few
econd .
NOTE: ONLY PLUG IN THE AC POWER CORD WHILE THE UNIT’S POWER SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION
AND THE VOLUME IS TURNED DOWN. TURNING ON THE UNIT WITH THE VOLUME TURNED UP MAY
DAMAGE THE AMPLIFIER / SPEAKER. ALWAYS TURN DOWN THE VOLUME PRIOR TO TURNING OFF THE
UNIT. WHEN POWERING ON THE MIXER, FIRST POWER ON THE SIGNAL SOURCE, THEN POWER ON THE
UNIT. ONCE THE MIXER IS POWERED ON, SLOWLY TURN THE VOLUME UP. WHEN POWERING OFF THE
MIXER, FIRST LOWER THE VOLUME, THEN POWER OFF THE MIXER, AND THEN POWER OFF THE SIGNAL
SOURCE.
LED Power Indicator
When the unit i connected to the power cord and witched on, a mall LED on the power button hould
light up, to indicate that the unit i indeed powered on and ready to receive a ignal. Once the unit i
witched off, the LED will turn off after a few econd .
Input / Output Connection
Connecting Audio Source(s to the DJ5U Mixer
USB & SD Card Inputs
There are input jack for a USB fla h drive or SD card on the top panel of the DJ5U allowing you enjoy your
mu ic in ju t a matter of econd . The USB fla h drive & SD Card hould not be larger than 32GB. The DJ5U
will only play .mp3 and .wma file from the USB fla h drive or SD Card torage device . Do not attempt to
play any other file type a thi will cau e the unit to cea e playback.
After connecting your USB fla h drive / SD Card, et the Channel 2 input elector to USB/SD. You can adju t
the volume u ing the Channel 2 volume control & the ma ter volume control.
When connecting a USB fla h drive or SD Card to the DJ5U, fir t load the device with all the ong you want
to play. Then imply plug the device into the USB or SD Card input on the top panel of the unit and pre
play on the USB / SD control panel. U e the USB / SD Card control to play / pau e the audio or go to the
next / previou track.
AUX IN Input (1/8” & RCA
The AUX IN can be u ed to connect a MP3 player u ing the 1/8” input on the top panel or a tereo ignal
device uch a a CD / DVD player u ing the RCA input (on Channel 3) on the rear panel. After connecting
your device to the AUX IN, et the Channel 3 input elector to AUX. You can adju t the volume u ing the
Channel 3 volume control & the ma ter volume control.

RCA Inputs for LINE (stereo and Phono Audio Sources
Connect up to 4 tereo audio ource to line 1-4 and 2 phono ource to Phono1 & Phono4.
When connecting a tereo audio ource (ex. DVD player) to the DJ5U, connect the audio output from the
DVD player to the LINE2 or LINE3 input on the DJ5U. It i recommended to u e the LINE2/3 input becau e
only Channel 2 & 3 have the ability to be mixed u ing the cro fader.
RCA Outputs
Once your audio ource are connected to the input on the DJ5U, connect the ma ter output on the DJ5U
to the audio input on the device next in the ignal’ path (pre-amplifier, equalizer, amplifier).
Connecting Microphone to the DJ5U Mixer
There are two microphone input on the top panel of the DJ5U, one i ¼” the other i XLR. It i important to
note that the e input are to be u ed olely for a microphone. Do not attempt to u e the e input for any
other u e. To u e, imply plug a microphone into the ¼" or XLR input while the DJ5U and microphone i in
the OFF po ition and the microphone volume i turned down. Once plugged in power-on the DJ5U, then
power-on the microphone, then lowly increa e the microphone volume knob which i located to the left of
the microphone input.
U ing the Cro fader
The cro fader will allow you to mix the audio from channel 2 & 3 and play that audio through the output .
Set the cro fader to the left to hear channel 2 only. Set the cro fader to the right to hear channel 3 only.
Set the cro fader to the middle to hear both channel 2 & 3.
U ing the Monitor Selector
U e the monitor knob to elect which channel( ) will be played through the headphone output. Select CH1 to
hear Channel 1 through the headphone (etc..). Select Mic to hear the microphone through the headphone .
Select Main to hear all channel / microphone through the headphone . Be ure to have the headphone
volume knob (21) turned down, until you are ready to u e the headphone and then lowly turn up the
volume.
