Lift Intercom System (MSA2)
These system provides an intercom connection between a telephone in the
engine room an the lift emergency system NRT in the cabine.
This is very helpful e.g. while maintenance or installation works.
The MSA2 comes in a plastic housing with integrated power supply.
There are several connectors in the lower part of the MSA2 (see picture 1),
TAE-connectors for lift phone and telephone, selector switch and modular
connector for telephone line.
•Connect your telephone line (public telephone line or PABX) with either
modular connector or the 2-pin connector right of them.
•Connect your engine room telephone set with connector TAE1.
•Connect the lift emergency call telephone NRT with either TAE2 or with
the 2-pin connector left of them.
•The selector switch is if the communication time between engine room
telephone and lift phone is restricted to 30 minutes or not.
If switch is ON, communication time is restricted to 30 minutes.
After that time a emergency call is possible, even if the engine room
telephone is not on-hook.
A renewed connection between engine room telephone to lift phone
may established by on-hook and off-hook of the engine room
telephone.
If switch is OFF, there is no communication time limit, which may cause
an always busy line by the MSA2.

The MSA2 were designed for wall mounting, and should be mounted near
the lift emergency phone connector in the lift engine room. A standard dial
tone telephone is used as engine room telephone.

How to establish an intercom connection
After installating and connecting the components you can establish an
intercom connection ONLY BY ENGINE ROOM TELEPHONE.
There are the following possibilities:
1. Intercom connection with last used speech unit and with standard
communication time:
-Off-hook your engine room telephone
-lift emergency phone NRT is called automatically
-NRT connects, answers with a single beep tone and after further
seconds voice connection will be etablished.
In this case the last used speech unit is selected and the maximum
communication time equals the communication time set in the NRT
-If the communication time expires, the NRT disconnects
-On-hook your engine room telephone
A new intercom connection may be established again as described.
2. Intercom connection with selectable speech unit and maximum
communication time:
-Off-hook your engine room telephone
-lift emergency phone NRT is called automatically
-NRT connects and answers with a single beep tone
-now enter access code (default: 0000) immediately
-the correct access code will be acknowledged by a single beep
tone. You are in lift phone’s programming mode now
-enter command sequence #607
-NRT enters extended voice connection with maximum
communication time (30 minutes)
-You may select the active speech unit by key 1, 4 or 7
(please also refer to NRT’s User Guide)
