Chapter 1 Brief Introduction
Thanks for choosing TWL54/108C CardBus wireless adapter. It is a
standard CardBus adapter that fits into standard 32-bit CardBus slot. It is an
enhanced high-performance supporting high-speed wireless networking at
home, or at office. TWL54/108C CardBus wireless adapter is able to
communicate with any 802.11b and 802.11g compliant products.
1.1 Features

1.2 Applications
TWL54/108C CardBus wireless adapter offers a fast, reliable,
cost-effective solution for wireless client access to the network in
applications like these:
1. Remote access to corporate network information E-mail, file transfer
and terminal emulation.
2. Difficult-to-wire environments Historical or old buildings, asbestos
installations, and open area where wiring is difficult to deploy.
3. Frequently changing environments Retailers, manufacturers and those
who frequently rearrange the workplace and change location.
4. Temporary LANs for special projects or peak time-Trade shows,
exhibitions and construction sites where a temporary network will be
practical. - Retailers, airline and shipping companies need additional
workstations during peak period. Auditors requiring workgroups at
customer sites.
5. Access to database for mobile workers Doctors, nurses, retailers,
accessing their database while being mobile in the hospital, retail store
or office campus.
6. SOHO (Small Office and Home Office) users. SOHO users need easy
and quick installation of a small computer network.

Chapter 2 Installation Guide
This chapter describes the instructions that guides you through the
proper installation of your TWL54/108C CardBus wireless adapter. The
installation CD has integrated the software pack with the driver,
configuration software that during the installation and uninstallation process
the software pack system will automatically install/uninstall the driver. The
complete installation of the TWL54/108C CardBus wireless adapter consists
of the following (Windows 2000 as an example, for the installation under
other OS, please kindly refers to this manual with the system prompts
accordingly);
Step1 Shut off your computer, insert TWL54/108C wireless adapter into
an available CardBus slot, Restart your computer, the Windows will
auto-detect the CardBus wireless adapter and a Found New Hardware
Wizard window will show up;

Click Cancel and install the driver from the Installation CD.
Step 2 Insert the CD into your CD ROM, Double click MY COMPUTER>
Your CD ROM driver>TWL54C&108C folder, double click the icon.
Step 3 Choose the installation language (Here we choose English), Click
Next.
Step 4 Click Next at the prompt window

Step 5 ChooseI Accept for the terms of the software license agreement,
then click Next.

Step 6 Choose Install Customer utilities and driver and click Next.

Step 7 Click OK at the prompt window.

Chapter 3 Configuration
The WLAN Utility enables you to make configuration changes and
perform user-level diagnostics on your TWL54/108C CardBus wireless
adapter in the Windows XP/2000 operating system environments. Please
run Start->programs->TENDA->TENDA customer utilities or simply double
click TENDA customer utilitiesat the desktop.
3.1 Current Status
This is to display the working status of TWL54/108C CardBus wireless
adapter: Link Status, Wireless Mode, Network Type, Server-based
Authentication, Signal Strength, IP, Current Channel, type of encryption, etc.

3.2 Profile Management
Profile The Profile field allows you to set values for all parameters by
selecting a previously defined profile. To create the profile, go to the Profile
field, type a profile name and set the corresponding parameters. If one of
the profiles is no longer used, you may remove it by clicking the Delete
button. After changing parameters, save the profile and click the Apply
button to take effect. You can have multiple profiles and modify the profile at
ny time.

New Create a new Profile and make the network settings.
General Please take care of the SSID of the Network Name(s). The SSID
is the unique ID used by Access Points and other wireless network
equipment to identify various workgroups. A wireless clients associating to
any Access Point must have the same SSID of the workgroup intend to
connect.

Security Security settings of connection. You should know the encryption
and the key of the AP to connect, e.g.: if the encryption type of the AP to

connect is WEP of 64-bit hexadecimal, default key is 1 and the key is
1231231230, you should choose Shared key (Static WEP) and then
Configure according to the figure below and click OK.

Advanced To enable the advanced configuration, go to the Configuration
tab and click the Advance button. The Advanced configuration provides
advance function about Transmission Power, Wireless Mode, Power Save
Mode, and Network Type.

Transmission Power: To configure the transmission power levels;
Power Save Mode: Normal, Max, off ;
Wireless Modes: 54Mbps,11Mbps, Super G, eXtended Range (XR), QoS
(Super G not applicable for TWL54C) ;
Network Type: There are 2 network types for the TWL54/108C CardBus
wireless adapter to operate. If you need to access company network or
Internet via Access Point, select "Infrastructure". If standard "802.11
Ad-Hoc" is selected, you need to set wireless stations with the same SSID;
802.11b preamble: Preamble frame is to control the packet size. Default
setting is Short & Long;
Preferred APs:You can input specified AP MAC addresses as the
Preferred Aps;

Note:Channel can only be configured under Ad hoc network type;
Modify: To modify a selected Profile;
Delete: To delete an existing Profile;
Activate:To activate the connection of the Profile;
Input: To input a saved Profile;
Output: To save a chosen Profile;
Scan: To rescan the wireless workstations around, choose found
workstations, click “Activate” to connect;
