Care and Maintenance

No regular care is required for this product.
No regular cleaning is required. Warning: Great care must be taken to avoid using water or water based
cleaning agent. A barely damp cloth should be used. The Thermostat can be easily cleaned with a soft cloth
wiping over the outer cover only. The programmer should be switched off before cleaning.
Maintenance
No maintenance is required for this product.

Regulations
The installation and electrical connections must be carried out by a suitably competent person and all work
must be in accordance with the latest edition of BS7671, IEE Wiring Regulations.
The electricity supply to the installation must be isolated before carrying out installation or maintenance.
Terrier heating controls satisfy the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (89/336/EEC)
and the Low Voltage Directive (73/23/EEC).
Terrier heating controls are manufactured to a strict quality assurance system in accordance with ISO 9000:
2001.

INSTALLATION & ASSEMBLY:
For correct operation, the thermostat must be positioned approx. 1.5m from
the floor, and always away from draughts and heat sources as shown in
Figure 2. It can be fixed either through a flush mounted connection box, or
directly to the wall, by means of two of the holes on the back part of the
thermostat base.(Important: Locate it on an absolutely flat surface).
1. Remove the thermostat dial by pulling gently outwards.
2. Remove the single screw as shown below and remove the cover (Fig. 3).
3. Fix the thermostat backplate either directly to the wall or to a suitable flush
mounting box with 2 suitable screws (Fig. 4).
4. Connect the electric cables to the terminals in accordance with the wiring
diagram (Fig. 5), also shown inside the thermostat lid.
5. Replace the cover and thermostat dial.

LIMITING THE
TEMPERATURE
RANGE:
1. Set the
thermostat dial
to the desired
temperature.
2. Pull the dial off.
3. Position the stops housed in the
central part of the inside of the dial in
the holes that correspond to the chosen
maximum and minimum temperatures
(Fig 6, above).
4. Replace the dial in its original setting.
WARNING:
Disconnect mains supply before fitting or removing the cover. A switch
having a contact separation of at least 3mm in all poles must be incorporated in
the fixed wiring as a means of fully disconnecting the mains supply.
SETTING:
To set the required temperature, turn the dial until the temperature shown on
the dial aligns with the index mark just below the dial.
