Safety notes
Caution icons
You will find the following caution icons
in these instructions:
Danger High risk!
Failure to observe the warning
may result in severe personal
injury or death.
Attention Moderate risk!
Failure to observe the warning
may result in property dam-
age.
Minor risk!
Points which should be ob-
served when handling the unit.
Safety notes
Danger Risk of electric shock!
Faulty installation of electri-
cal equipment or mains volt-
age which is too high can cause electric
shocks.
• The AC adapter plug is suitable for
use with a power supply voltage of
100–240 V~ / 50/60Hz.
• Only use the enclosed mains adapter.
When connecting the unit, make sure
that the correct voltage is present. You
will find detailed information directly
on your mains adapter.
• Immediately disconnect the AD adapt-
er plug and discontinue using the de-
vice if its case or the connection line
is defective or exhibits other visible
damages.
• The AC adapter plug is the separator
of this device. This separator must be
readily accessible.
• If the unit emits smoke or smells of
burning or other unusual odours, dis-
connect it immediately from the power
supply and do not operate it.
• Never open the housing of the mains
adapter. Its overhaul must be per-
formed by an authorised specialist
company only.
• Only use the accessory products speci-
fied by the manufacturer.
• Only use the unit in indoor areas.
• Do not operate the unit in damp areas
and protect it from drops of water or
splash water.
Make sure that no vases or other con-
tainers filled with liquid are located
near the device so that no liquid may
penetrate the housing. If water or oth-
er
foreign objects penetrate the hous-
ing, immediately disconnect the AC
adapter plug. Send the unit to our serv-
ice address in this case.
• Never touch the mains adapter with
wet hands.
• Check the unit regularly for damage.
Danger Danger to children!
Children may put small parts
in their mouth at play and suf-
focate.
• Ensure that children do not remove
small parts from the unit or take them
off of the unit (e.g. batteries from
the remote control, knobs etc.). They
could swallow the parts and choke.
• If a battery is swallowed, immediately
consult a physician with the child.
• Never allow children to operate elec-
trical devices unsupervised.

Danger Danger of chemical
burns!
Leaking battery acid may lead
to chemical burns.
• Do not allow battery acid to come in-
to contact with skin, eyes and mucus
membranes. In case of contact with
acid rinse the affected location imme-
diately with plenty of plain water and
if necessary see a doctor.
Danger Danger of explosion!
Batteries (particularly lithium
batteries) can explode if used
improperly.
• Never attempt to recharge batteries.
• Only use batteries of the same or
equivalent type.
• Do not heat or short circuit batteries
or rechargeable batteries and do not
dispose them in fire.
• Do not expose batteries and storage
batteries to direct sunlight.
Danger Danger of injury/dam-
age!
Setting up the device in a lo-
cation that is not suitable may cause in-
jury to persons and/or damage to prop-
erty.
• Arrange the unit so that cables do not
pose a tripping hazard.
• Do not place the unit near sources of
heat (e.g. heaters, ovens, other heat
generating equipment such as ampli-
fiers etc.).
Danger to hearing!
Loud noise may lead to hear-
ing loss.
Very high noise pressure may sudden-
ly be emitted, especially if a subwoofer
is activated and set to full volume. This
may have psychological consequences
and also cause physical injury. Children
and pets are particularly at risk.
• Set the volume control of your amplifi-
er/TV set to a low setting.
• Always maintain a certain distance to
the speaker at high volumes.
• To avoid damage to health, avoid ex-
tended listening at high volume.
Attention Risk of damage!
Other influences may damage
or destroy the unit.
• If the unit is to be left unsupervised
for a long period (e.g. during a holi-
day), or if a thunderstorm is forecast,
disconnect the mains adapter from the
socket. Otherwise, sudden overvolt-
age may cause a defect.
• Leaked batteries may damage the re-
mote control.
In case of prolonged absence, remove
any batteries from the remote control.
• If the device is subjected to warm tem-
peratures after being cold (e.g. after
transport) condensation may occur in-
side of it.
In this case wait at least 2 hours be-
fore you connect and activate it.

Connecting
Sound transmission
The jack 7 LINE OUT serves as audio
output of your iTeufel®Dock v3.
• Connect this jack with the audio input
jack(s) of your amplifier or TV set (e.g.
Audio In, Line In, AUX).
• A stereo cable with 2 jack plugs (3.5
mm) or with one jack plug (3.5 mm)
and 2 RCA plugs is required for the
connection.
Image transmission
The output jacks 5 COMPOSITE or 6 S-
VIDEO are available for playback of
your videos and photos.
• Connect one of the two jacks with
the corresponding input jack of your
TV set. If your TV set features both
jacks, you should preferably use the
S-VIDEO
connection which provides a
slightly better image quality.
• A video RCA cable is required for the
COMPOSITE connection.
For the S-VIDEO connection you need
an S-VIDEO cable.
• Please note that no sound is trans-
ferred via both video jacks. You need
to transfer sound separately with the
jack 7 LINE OUT as described above.
Selecting the signal source
• Set the connected jack as the signal
source (source) on your amplifier or
TV set.
Connection with iTunes
• Connect the jack 4 USB with a USB
jack of your computer.
• A cable with a USB plug of type A
and type B each is required for this.
• To synchronise your iPod/iPhone start
iTunes on your computer as usual.
Your iPod/iPhone is recognised au-
tomatically and can be synchronised
now.

Care and cleaning
Clean the device regularly with a soft,
damp microfibre cloth. Please be abso-
lutely sure to observe the following notes
in the process:
Danger Risk of electric shock!
In contact with live parts, wa-
ter can lead to electric shock
or short circuit.
• Make sure that no liquid penetrates
the mains adapter or the device.
• Pull the plug mains adapter out of the
socket before cleaning.
Attention Risk of damage!
The wrong cleaner could dam-

Protecting the environment
Batteries and rechargeable
batteries
Batteries and rechargeable
batteries must not be dis-
posed of with household
waste!
Every consumer is required by law to
bring all batteries and rechargeable bat-
teries, whether they contain harmful sub-
stances*) or not, to a collection point run
by the communal authority or borough
or run commercially, so that they can be
disposed of in an environmentally friend-
ly manner.
Please only hand in fully discharged bat-
teries and rechargeable batteries!
*) labelled with: Cd = Cadmium, Hg =
Mercury, Pb = Lead
Disposal of the unit
Used units must not be dis-
posed of with household
waste.
If the unit is no longer opera-
tional, every consumer is re-
quired by law to dispose of used devices
separately from household waste, e.g. at
a collection point run by the communal
authority borough. In this way it is en-
sured, that used devices are properly re-
cycled and that negative consequences
on the environment are avoided.
For this reason, electrical equipment is
labelled with the symbol shown here.
