Wir gratulieren Ihnen zum Kauf des PowerPacks
BasicKids.
Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vor
Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes sorgfältig durch und
bewahren Sie die Anleitung gut auf.
PowerPacks BasicKids liefern Energie für
ThermicSoles Kids.

SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
Wenn Sie Wärme oder Kälte nicht richtig
wahrnehmen können (z.B. Diabetiker, behinderte
Menschen, etc.), halten Sie bitte vor Verwendung
des Gerätes Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt.
Kontrollieren Sie Ihre Füße regelmäßig auf
Rötungen der Haut. Zu hohe Heizleistungen über
längere Zeit können Verbrennungen
verursachen. Kinder sollten den Artikel daher nur
unter Aufsicht von Erwachsenen verwenden.
BasicKids Batterie-Gehäuse nie mit Batterien
oder Akkus bestückt lagern!
Das Batterie-Gehäuse ist spritzwassergeschützt.

Wenn Sie die PowerPacks an Ihren Schuhen
befestigt haben, sollten diese im Freien stets
(auch wenn nicht eingeschaltet) an die
beheizbaren Sohlen angeschlossen werden, um
ein Eindringen von Feuchtigkeit bzw. Schmutz in
Anschlussbuchsen oder Stecker zu vermeiden.
Ansonsten Wasser ausfließen und das
PowerPack austrocknen lassen.
Das Therm-ic PowerPack BasicKids kann nicht
mit einem Therm-ic Ladegerät geladen werden.
Stecken Sie keine Metall- oder andere
Gegenstände in Anschlussbuchsen oder Stecker,
da dies das PowerPack beschädigen kann!
Sollten Sie einen Schaden an
Anschlussleitungen oder anderen Teilen des
Artikels feststellen, darf der Artikel nicht weiter
benutzt werden. Nehmen Sie keine
Veränderungen am Artikel vor und
zweckentfremden Sie ihn nicht. Lassen Sie
Reparaturen an Teilen des Artikels oder dessen
Anschlussleitungen nur vom Hersteller
durchführen.
Niemals Batterien und/oder Akkus
unterschiedlichen Typs gemischt in ein BasicKids
Batterie-Gehäuse einlegen.
Batterien niemals wieder aufladen!
Explosionsgefahr!
Batterien von Kindern fernhalten, nicht ins Feuer
werfen, kurzschließen oder auseinander
nehmen.
Sofort einen Arzt aufsuchen, wenn eine Batterie
verschluckt wurde.
Batterien keinen extremen Bedingungen
aussetzen, z. B. auf Heizkörpern! Erhöhte
Auslaufgefahr!
Verbrauchte Batterien oder Akkus immer aus
dem Gerät nehmen und entsorgen, da durch
auslaufende Batteriesäure das PowerPack
beschädigt werden kann.
Kontakt mit Haut, Augen und Schleimhäuten
vermeiden. Bei Kontakt mit Batteriesäure die
betroffenen Stellen sofort mit reichlich klarem
Wasser spülen und umgehend einen Arzt
aufsuchen.

FUNKTIONSBESCHREIBUNG
Die PowerPacks BasicKids haben zwei
Betriebszustände: POWER-OFF - BETRIEB
Diese werden durch die Betriebsanzeige (rote
LEDs) am PowerPack deutlich gemacht.
Die Heizleistung kann in 3 verschiedenen
Heizstufen individuell eingestellt werden.
SICHERHEITSFUNKTIONEN
PowerPack BasicKids und Kids Einlegesohle
(blauer Stecker) sind in der Heizleistung und
Laufzeit aufeinander abgestimmt. Die Kombination
mit üblichen Therm-ic Einlegesohlen (roter Stecker)
führt zu einer Verkürzung der Laufzeit und zu einer
für Kinder ungeeigneten Erhöhung der
Heiztemperatur (siehe Tabelle Heizleistung).
Verwenden Sie daher für Kinder die PowerPacks
BasicKids nur zusammen mit ThermicSoles Kids!
WICHTIGE HINWEISE ZUR ANWENDUNG
Batterien bzw. Akkus wie im Gehäuse abgebildet
einlegen. Dabei unbedingt auf die richtige
Polarität der einzelnen Zellen achten. Batterie-
und Gerätekontakte vor dem Einlegen bei Bedarf
reinigen.
Batterie-Gehäuse schließen und
Heizelementekabel fest anstecken, bis ein
deutliches Einrasten bemerkbar ist.
Bei Inbetriebnahme Stufe 3 nicht länger als
jeweils ein paar Minuten eingeschaltet lassen; bei
Dauerbetrieb kann ansonsten zu große Hitze
entstehen – Verbrennungsgefahr!
PowerPacks stets auf Stufe 1 oder 2 stellen, um
behagliche Wärme der Füße beizubehalten
(Heizung sollte fast nicht spürbar sein).
Optimale Heizleistung wird dann erreicht, wenn
Schuhe bzw. Sohlen trocken sind.

BEDIENUNG
Das PowerPack BasicKids besitzt zur Anzeige der
Heizleistung eine Betriebsanzeige (1.1) mit 3
LEDs. Zur Einstellung der Heizleistung dienen die
beiden Funktionstasten (1.2).
Die PowerPack BasicKidss sind ausgeschaltet,
wenn keine LED der Betriebsanzeige leuchtet.
Einschalten: Durch kurzes Drücken der
Funktionstaste „+“ (ca. 1 Sekunde)
wird das PowerPack BasicKids mit
der niedrigsten Stufe der Heizleistung
eingeschaltet.
Ausschalten: Durch langes Drücken (ca. 3
Sekunden) auf die Funktionstaste „-
“(bis die Betriebsanzeige erlischt)
wird das PowerPack BasicKids
ausgeschaltet.
Hinweis:
Wenn das PowerPack BasicKids 24 h lang nicht
bedient wird, schaltet es sich automatisch aus.
Wenn die Kapazität der Batterien/Akkus erschöpft
ist, beginnt die Heizstufenanzeige zu flimmern.
Einstellen der Heizleistung:
Über die Funktionstasten an den PowerPack
BasicKids können 3 verschiedene Heizleistungen
eingestellt werden.
Mit jedem Druck (ca. 1 Sekunde) auf die
Funktionstaste „+“ wird die Heizleistung erhöht, mit
jedem Druck (ca. 1 Sekunde) auf die
Funktionstaste „–“ wird die Heizleistung verringert.
Das Aufleuchten der LEDs der Kontrollanzeige (1
LED = niedrige Heizleistung, 3 LEDs = hohe
Heizleistung) zeigt die eingestellte Heizleistung an.

Heizelement
Die Heizdauer ist abhängig von der Batteriewahl!
Für optimale Heizleistung empfiehlt Therm-ic
folgende Batterie- oder Akkutypen:
Alkaline Batterien, AAA, 1,5 V
NiMH Akkus, AAA, 1,2 V (wieder aufladbar)
Bei Verwendung anderer Batterie- oder Akkutypen
wird unter Umständen bei tiefen Temperaturen
keine ausreichende Heizleistung erreicht. Achten
Sie beim Kauf von aufladbaren Akkus darauf, dass
diese für Anwendungen unter 0°C (32°F) geeignet
sind und eine Kapazität kleiner als 1000mAh
haben. Ihr Fachhändler berät Sie gerne.
WARTUNG, LAGERUNG UND PFLEGE
DER POWERPACKS
Die PowerPacks müssen ohne Batterien oder
Akkus in trockenen Räumen bei
Zimmertemperatur, ausgeschaltet (Stufe 0) und
abgesteckt von der Heizsohle gelagert werden.
Reinigen Sie die Teile bei Bedarf mit einem
weichen, leicht angefeuchteten Tuch und einem
milden Spülmittel.

BEFESTIGUNGSMÖGLICHKEITEN DER
POWERPACKS
Sie können die PowerPacks mit dem Drahtbügel
direkt an der Außenkante des Schuhs befestigen
(Bild 2.1). Allerdings empfehlen wir bei langfristiger
Anwendung eine der nachfolgenden
Befestigungsmöglichkeiten.
Sie können die PowerPacks auf folgende Arten
befestigen:
mit dem Therm-ic Velcro Strap sicher am Schuh
oder Unterschenkel anbringen (Bild 2.2)
mit dem Therm-ic Power Strap Adapter am
Velcro Strap anbringen (Bild 3)
mit dem Therm-ic Skischuhadapter (Bild 4) oder
dem Therm-ic Universal Powerpack Adapter am
Schuh anbringen (Bild 5)
mit Hilfe des Therm-ic Verlängerungskabels (in
den Längen 80 cm oder 120 cm erhältlich) in die
Jacke- oder Hosentasche stecken oder an der
Hüfte (z.B. Gürtel usw.) befestigen (Bild 6)
Zubehör ist unter www.therm-ic.com oder bei
Ihrem Fachhändler erhältlich.
Wichtiger Hinweis:
PowerPacks nicht an glatten, rutschigen Stellen
befestigen – Verlustgefahr!
ENTSORGUNG
Wenn das Gerät einmal ausgedient hat, dann
entsorgen Sie es samt seiner Verpackung im
Interesse des Umweltschutzes ordnungsgemäß
und gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen
Vorschriften.
Werfen Sie die PowerPack BasicKids nicht in den
Hausmüll, sondern geben Sie die Teile an einer
Sammelstelle für Elektroschrott ab.
Verpackungsmaterialien sind Rohstoffe und
können wieder verwendet werden. Führen Sie
diese deshalb dem Recycling zu.
Akkus und Batterien müssen an den vorgesehen
Sammelstellen abgegeben werden.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the PowerPack
BasicKids.
Before using the device for the first time, please
read these Instructions for Use carefully and keep
these instructions in a safe place.
PowerPacks BasicKids supply energy to your
ThermicSoles Kids.
PACKAGE CONTENTS
2 PowerPack BasicKids enclosures with
integrated heat level switches (batteries are not
included in the package)
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
If you have problems sensing hot or cold objects
(e.g. diabetics, disabled persons etc.), please
consult your doctor before using the unit.
Check your feet regularly for reddening of the
skin. Excessive heat levels over prolonged
periods can lead to burns. Children should only
use the unit under the supervision of adults.
Never store the BasicKids battery housing with
batteries or battery packs inside them!

The battery housing is water-resistant. If you
have attached the PowerPacks to your shoes,
the packs should always be connected to the
heatable soles when outdoors (even if not
switched on). This will prevent moisture and dirt
from entering the connecting socket or plug. If
water does enter the connectors, drain the
PowerPack and let it dry.
The Therm-ic PowerPack BasicKids can not be
charged with a Therm-ic charger.
Do not insert any metal or other object into
connecting sockets or plugs as this can cause
damage to the PowerPack.
Do not use the unit if you discover any damage to
connecting cables or other parts. Do not make
any modifications to the unit or use it for any
unintended purposes. Repairs to the unit or its
connecting leads are only to be carried out by the
manufacturer.
Never mix different types of batteries or battery
packs in a BasicKids battery housing.
Never recharge the batteries! Risk of explosion!
Keep batteries away from children. Do not throw
them into fire, short-circuit them or take them
apart.
Contact a doctor immediately if a battery is
swallowed.
Do not expose the batteries to extreme
conditions, such as putting them on heaters. This
will increase the risk of battery leakage.
Always remove used batteries from the
equipment and dispose of them, as the
PowerPack could be damaged by leaking battery
acid.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. Should you come into contact with
battery acid, wash the affected location
immediately with plenty of fresh water and seek
medical attention immediately.
If you have any questions or concerns, please
contact your dealer or the manufacturer.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
The PowerPacks BasicKids have two operating
modes: POWER OFF - IN USE
These modes are clearly indicated on the
PowerPack status display (red LEDs).
Each PowerPack can be individually set to one of
three different heat levels.
SAFETY FUNCTIONS
PowerPack BasicKids and Kids insoles (blue
connector) have been adapted to each other in
terms of the heat level and exposure time. Using
them in combination with standard Therm-ic insoles
(red connector) leads to a reduction in exposure
time and an increased heating temperature which is
unsuitable for children (see Heat level table).
For this reason only use PowerPacks BasicKids
together with ThermicSoles Kids.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Insert the batteries into the housing as illustrated.
It is imperative to observe the proper polarity of
the batteries. Clean the contacts of the battery
and the device if necessary before insertion.
Close the battery housing and plug in the heating
element cable all the way until a click is felt.
When starting up, do not allow step 3 to be
switched on longer than a few minutes in each
case, otherwise too much heat can be produced
during operation – danger of burning.
Always set PowerPacks to level 1 or 2 to maintain
a comfortable level of warmth for your feet
(heating should be almost undetectable).
The optimum heat output is achieved when your
shoes and soles are dry.
OPERATION
The PowerPack BasicKids features a status display
(1.1) with 3 LEDs for indicating the heat level. Use

the two control buttons (1.2) to adjust the heat
level.
The PowerPacks BasicKids are turned off when all
LEDs on the status display are off.
Turning the device on: Briefly press the control
button "+" (approx. 1 sec.)
to turn the PowerPack
BasicKids on at the lowest
heat level.
Turning the device off: Press and hold (approx. 3
secs.) the control button "-
" (until the status display
turns off) to turn off the
PowerPack BasicKids.
Note:
If the PowerPack BasicKids will switch off
automatically when not used for 24 hours.
After the battery has run out of power, the heat
level indication will begin to flicker.
Setting the heat level:
The control buttons on the PowerPacks BasicKids
allow for 3 different levels of heating.
Each time the control button “+” button is pressed
(approx. 1 sec.), the heat level is increased; with
the “–“ button (approx. 1 sec.), you can lower the
heat level. The LEDs on the control display show
the current heat level (1 LED = low heat, 3 LEDs =
high heat).

The duration of heating depends on which battery
was selected!
For optimum heat output, Therm-ic recommend the
following batteries or battery pack types.
Alkaline batteries, AAA, 1.5 V
NiMH battery pack, AAA, 1.2 V (rechargeable)
If other types of batteries are used, the heat
produced may not be sufficient for use in very cold
temperatures. When purchasing rechargeable
batteries, please ensure that they are suitable for
use at temperatures below 0°C (32°F) and that
their capacity is smaller than 1000mAh. Your
dealer will be happy to advise you.
SERVICE, STORAGE AND CARE OF THE
POWERPACKS
The PowerPacks should be stored at room
temperature in a dry place, switched off (level 0)
and unplugged from the heated insole.
Clean the parts as needed with a soft, slightly
damp cloth and a mild cleanser.
METHODS FOR ATTACHING THE
POWERPACKS
Fix the PowerPack to the outer edge of the shoe
with the wire clip (Fig. 2.1). However, for long-term
use, we recommend one of the attachment options
outlined below.
The PowerPacks can be attached as follows:
use the Therm-ic Velcro Strap to fix them to the
shoe or lower leg (Fig. 2.2).
Use the Therm-ic Power strap adapter to fix them
onto the Velcro strap (Fig. 3)

Use the Therm-ic ski boot adapter (Fig. 4) or the
Therm-ic Universal Powerpack Adapter to attach
them to the boot (Fig. 5)
Place the PowerPacks into a jacket or trouser
pocket by using the Therm-ic extension cable
(available in 80 cm and 120 cm lengths), or
secure them to the hips (e.g. belt, etc.) (6).

Important note:
Never fit the PowerPacks to smooth, slippery
surfaces where they could fall off and be lost.
DISPOSAL
If the device can no longer be used, please dispose
of it and its packaging in an environmentally-
friendly way and in accordance with the valid
regulations.
Do not throw the PowerPacks BasicKids away with
normal household trash. Instead, dispose of the
parts at a collection site for electrical waste.
Packaging materials are raw materials and can be
recycled. For this reason, please recycle the
packaging.
Batteries must be disposed of at special collection
sites.
Please contact your local authority for more
information.
ACCESSORIES AND SPARE PARTS
When subsequently purchasing accessories or
spare parts make sure to give the exact Therm-ic
model designation. Ideally, take the part to be
replaced with you to your dealer.

INTRODUCTION

Les PowerPacks BasicKids permettent d'alimenter
les ThermicSoles Kids.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ
Si vous n'êtes pas en mesure de sentir

Contrôlez régulièrement si vos pieds ne
présentent pas de rougeurs. Vous risquez des

l'intérieur.
Le compartiment est étanche aux projections
d'eau. Lorsque vous avez fixé les PowerPacks
sur vos chaussures, ils doivent rester branchés
(même sans être allumés) sur les semelles
chauffantes lorsque vous les portez à l'extérieur,
afin d'éviter que l'humidité ou la saleté ne pénètre
dans les connecteurs ou la prise. Dans le cas
contraire, videz l'eau qui se serait introduite et
séchez le PowerPack.
Le PowerPack BasicKids de Therm-ic ne peut
pas être chargé à l'aide d'un chargeur Therm-ic.
N'introduisez pas d'objets métalliques ou autres
dans les connecteurs ou la prise, car cela
risquerait d'endommager le PowerPack.
Si vous deviez constater que les cordons de
raccordement ou d'autres pièces de l'article
devaient être endommagées, celui-ci ne doit plus
être utilisé. N'apportez pas de modification à
l'article et ne l'affectez pas à un autre usage que
celui prévu. Faites réparer les pièces de l'appareil
ou ses cordons de raccordement par le fabricant
uniquement.
Ne jamais mélanger des piles et/ou
accumulateurs de différents types dans un boîtier
de piles BasicKids.
Les piles ne doivent jamais être rechargées !
Risques d'explosion !
Les piles ne doivent pas être laissées à portée
des enfants, jetées dans le feu ou démontées.
En cas d'ingestion, consulter immédiatement un
médecin.
Ne pas exposer les piles à des conditions
extrêmes, par exemple en les posant sur un
appareil de chauffage. Risque de fuite.
Toujours retirer les piles ou les accumulateurs
usagés de l'appareil et les mettre au rebut, l'acide
des piles risquant, en s'échappant,
d'endommager le PowerPack.
Eviter tout contact avec la peau, les yeux et les
muqueuses. En cas de contact avec l'acide d'une
pile, rincer immédiatement à l'eau claire les
parties du corps entrées en contact et consulter
un médecin.
Pour toute question ou tout problème qui se

Les PowerPack s BasicKids disposent de deux

Ces modes sont signalés par le voyant (DEL rouge)
placé sur le PowerPack .
La puissance de chauffage peut être réglée
individuellement sur 3 allures de chauffage
différentes.

Kids sont adaptés l'un à l'autre pour la puissance de
chauffage et la durée de fonctionnement. Une
utilisation combinée avec des semelles ordinaires
Therm-ic (connecteur rouge) réduirait leur durée de
vie et augmenterait la température de chauffage de
manière inappropriée pour les enfants (voir tableau
des puissances de chauffage).
C'est la raison pour laquelle vous ne devez utiliser
les PowerPacks BasicKids pour enfants qu'avec
des semelles ThermicSoles Kids !
CONSEILS IMPORTANTS POUR
L'UTILISATION
Placer les piles ou les batteries comme
représenté sur le boîtier. Respecter
impérativement la polarité des différentes cellules.
Au besoin, nettoyer les contacts des piles et de
l'appareil avant insertion.
Refermer le boîtier de piles et fixer fermement le
cordon de l'élément chauffant jusqu'à ce qu'il
s'enclipse.
Lors de la mise en service, ne laissez pas le
niveau 3 activé pendant plus de quelques
minutes ; une utilisation prolongée risque d'élever
la température de manière excessive, et de
d'occasionner des brûlures.
Toujours régler les PowerPacks sur le niveau 1
ou 2 afin de conserver une chaleur confortable

pour les pieds (le chauffage devrait être
pratiquement imperceptible).
La température de chauffage optimale est atteinte
lorsque les chaussures ou les semelles sont
sèches.
MODE D'UTILISATION
Le PowerPack BasicKids est doté d'un voyant (1.1)
de 3 DELs qui affiche la puissance de chauffage.
Les deux touches de fonction (1.2) perment de
régler la puissance de chauffage.
Les PowerPacks BasicKids sont éteints lorsque les
DELs du voyant le sont aussi.
Marche : Pour mettre le PowerPack BasicKids
sur le niveau de chauffage le plus
bas, appuyer brièvement sur la
touche de fonction + (1 seconde).
Arrêt : Pour éteindre le PowerPack
BasicKids, appuyer pendant 3
secondes sur la touche de fonction
(jusqu'à ce que le voyant s'éteigne).
Remarque :
Lorsque le PowerPack BasicKids n'est pas utilisé
au bout de 24 h, il s'éteint automatiquement.
Lorsque la capacité des piles / piles rechargeables
est épuisée, le voyant de niveau de chauffage
commence à clignoter faiblement.
Réglage de la puissance de chauffage :
Les touches de fonction des PowerPacks
BasicKids permettent de régler 3 allures de
chauffage différentes.
Une pression (1 seconde) sur la touche de fonction
+ augmente la puissance de chauffage, tandis
qu'une pression (1 seconde) sur la touche – la
diminue. L'activation des DELs du voyant de
contrôle (1 DEL = puissance de chauffage faible, 3
DELs = puissance de chauffage élevée) indiquent
la puissance de chauffage choisie.

La durée de chauffage dépend de la pile !
Afin de permettre une puissance de chauffage
optimale, Therm-ic recommande les types de piles
ou d'accumulateurs suivants :
Piles alcalines, AAA, 1,5 V
Piles rechargeables NiMH, AAA, 1,2 V
Si vous utilisez d'autres types de piles ou de
batteries, il se peut que la puissance de chauffage
soit insuffisante à basse température. Lors de
l'achat de batteries rechargeables, assurez-vous
qu'elles soent utilisables à une température
inférieure à 0°C (32°F) et qu'elles ont une capacité
inférieure à 1000 mAh. Votre revendeur vous
conseillera volontiers.
MAINTENANCE, STOCKAGE ET
ENTRETIEN DES POWERPACKS
Les PowerPacks doivent être stockés sans pile ni
accumulateur dans un endroit sec, à température
ambiante, éteints (niveau 0) et débranchés de la
semelle chauffante.
Au besoin, nettoyez les pièces à l'aide d'un chiffon
doux légèrement humide et d'un nettoyant doux.
