UNPACKING:
Remove the equipment from the packing material and check for damage. Notify the detail of
any damage to your supplier or to Thermoline Scientific without delay.
Retain the packing materials until the equipment has been thoroughly tested.
Inventory:
•Shelves: 150 litre models = 3 shelves, 235 & 330 litre models = 4 shelves, 500 litre
model = 5 shelves.
•Operating Instructions.
•Electrical mains cable.
USE & FUNCTION:
The Thermoline range of Premium Laboratory Ovens are designed and manufactured in
Australia for all non-critical laboratory and light industrial functions. This range includes seven
models, one which has an optional temperature range up to 300ºC.
Depending on the model selected, either gravity convection (models ending with “G”), for low
capacity drying and conditioning of samples, or fan forced (models ending with “F”), for
increased performance and closer tolerance temperature uniformity.
Models TO-152G, TO-152F, TOH-152G & TOH-152F are suitable for laboratory bench or floor
mounting.
Models TO-235F & TO-330F are suitable only for floor standing.

Features:
•Stainless steel liners (easy clean surface & non corrosive).
•Fibreglass insulation for efficiency.
•Stainless steel sheathed heating element.
•Digital temperature control with over temperature alarm.
•Monitoring port hole.
•Removable chrome plate shelves.
•Exhaust vents for low capacity drying.
LOCATION & INSTALLATION:
LOCATION:
Place the equipment in a well-ventilated area on a firm surface.
Allow sufficient room for the door to open fully.
Note that the ovens have a maximum temperature range of 200ºC (300ºC for TOH models),
and as a consequence will have hot surfaces. Do not place the ovens adjacent to heat
sensitive equipment.
1. These ovens are not suitable for use with flammable solvents! They are fitted with
components that may be a source of ignition.
2. This range of ovens is not suitable for stacking!
3. Note that these ovens can be used for low volume drying purposes and will
discharge hot moist air from the exhaust vent.
4. Note: This range of ovens is suitable for low volume drying purposes but should
not be used with large volumes of water since the interior is not sealed. A range
of dehydrating ovens with sealed liners is available for large capacity drying
purposes.
ELECTRICAL:
These ovens are suitable for connection to a standard 240 volt, 50Hz, supply. A dedicated
outlet should be used for the supply, do not use power boards or the like. A 3-pin moulded plug
is fitted as standard to the mains lead. A removable power lead plugs into the IEC socket at the
rear of the oven. Note: The TO-500F oven requires a 15 amp power point!
SPECIFICATIONS:
Electrical: 240 volts, 50 HZ.
Temperature Range: Ambient plus 10ºC to 200ºC. TOH Models Ambient plus 10ºC to 300ºC
Temperature Control Accuracy: +/- 1ºC
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
All models feature heavy duty insulation to minimise heat loss, stainless steel interior for
durability, and chrome plate open wire shelves.
The door is fitted with a positive lever action door latch and closes on a silicon gasket. The
exterior is colour bond steel.
The desired operating temperature is set at the temperature controller with digital display of set
temperature and oven temperature. The heating element is switched by a solid state relay for
reliability.

On the fan forced models a circulating fan blows the air across a heating element mounted
behind the ceiling panel, down a rear air duct, and across each shelf level for even
temperature distribution.
On gravity convection models the element is located at the bottom of the oven.
The temperature sensor provides an accurate measure of the temperature inside the oven.
CONTROL PANEL:
Page button: Used to view calibration offset parameter.
Scroll button: Not used by the operator.
Side arrow: Used to move the cursor when changing temperature.
Down arrow: Used to decrease parameter setting.
Up arrow: Used to increase parameter setting.
OPERATION:
1. Locate the oven as previously described in “Location”, plug the mains lead into the
power supply and turn on the power point.
2. Turn on the main switch on the control panel. The switch is illuminated so you will know
when it is on. The temperature will go through a short warm up period where all
segments of the display will be on, before indicating the set temperature (SV) on the
lower display and oven temperature (PV) on the top display.
3. The Omron E5CC is a microprocessor based instrument that has been factory
configured for range, sensor type, and engineering parameters for optimum control.

Limited access to the control parameters is available. The operator can alter the
temperature set point and has access to a parameter used for calibration purposes.
4. TO CHANGE THE SET TEMPERATURE:
•Use the button to move the cursor, the digit will flash indicating that it can
be changed.
•Use the or arrows to change the temperature. When the desired
temperature is set leave for a few seconds and the digits will stop flashing to
confirm entry.
5. OVER TEMP LIGHT: The temperature control has been configured with automatic over
temperature alarm. In case of a malfunction the alarm will turn off all forms of heating
when the oven temperature is more than 5ºC above the set temperature. In this
instance the red “over temp” alarm light will be illuminated.
6. These ovens are fitted with an air exhaust vent on the top for drying. Adjust the vent to
increase or decrease the drying rate, (fully open for maximum drying).
SENSOR CORRECTION:
There are a number of factors that will affect the accuracy of the temperature displayed in
relation to the actual temperature inside the oven, these include the following:
•Product load inside the oven (the load should be distributed evenly across each shelf
with room for vertical air flow around the product).
•Oven temperature (at higher temperatures the heat loss from the oven will be greater).
•Location of the sensor (the temperature sensor can never be placed in the centre of the
oven because it could be damaged).
Because of the above factors it may be possible to have an error between the temperature
displayed and the temperature measured at the middle of the oven. For this reason the Omron
temperature control has a parameter that can be used to correct the temperature displayed.
This sensor correction parameter is displayed as .
In simple terms this parameter adds or subtracts a correction value to the displayed
temperature to make it read the correct temperature. The calibration parameter can be
accessed as follows:
•Prior to any calibration of the temperature display ensure that the equipment used to
measure the oven temperature has a current certificate of calibration to a traceable
source, and that you are confident that it is accurate.
