UNPACKINGINSTRUCTIONS
Thesimplestway
tounpack
thespeakeris
toturnitupside
down.
remove
the
packing
materjal
from
thebottomof
thecarton
andthen
carefully
standthe
speakerinthecartonright
side
up.Youcan
then
lift
thecartonolf
thespeaker.1f
thereisanyshipping
damage,
conlact
either
your
dealer
orthefactoryfor
instructions.
POSITIONING
THESPEAKERS
The03's
are
relatively
non.critical
toroom
placement
and
will
providegood
results
almost
anywhere.However,
werecommend
theybe
placed
atleast onetootfrom
awall
andatleast
three
feet
fromacorner.
They
perform
bestwhen
positioned
well
awayfrom
allwalls,
asthisminimizes
eadyreflections
androomresoriances
andso
provides
the
most
open,
uncoloredreproduction
aswellas
themostaccurale
bassresponse.
LISTENER
POSITION
The03's
provide
broaddispersion
of
energyatallfrequencies
and
aredesigned
to
providegood
results
throughoutalargelistening
area.
Ofcourse,thebestimaging
is
provided
foralistener
centeied
infront
ofthespeakers.
Also,optimum
phase
and
timealignmentis
provided
onlyforasealedlistener
who
iseightormore
feetaway
from
thespeakers.
CONNECTING
THESPEAKERS
Itisessential
forproperperformance
thatbothspeakerc
inastereo
system
bewiredin
thesame
polarity.
Theinput
terminalsarecolor
coded
to
facjlitate
this.For
example,
the
wire
connected
tothered
input
terminalof
eachspeakershould
connect
tothe
respective
positive
outputterminals
oftheamplifier.
(Thepolarity
canbe
reversed,
butBOTH
speakersmust
be
reversed.)
The
speakers
shouldbeconnected
totheamptif
ierwithheavy
gauge
wire
to
insureminimalloss
of
power
and
proper
control
bytheamplifier.
The
minimum
size
recommended
forrelatively
shortrunsis18
gauge.
Larger
sizes
(18
or14
gauge)
are
preferred,
especialtyfor
long
runs.The
speakerterminals
willaccept
sizesupto
j2gauge.
CONNECTING
THEEQUALIZER
Themost
commonmethod
ofconnecting
theequalizer
isthrough
thelapemonitor
facilities
oftheamplifier
or
receiver.
Toimplement
