Safety Chain
kill swiTch
In an emergency, there are two ways to kill power:
1. Push the E-stop button.
2. Pull the kill line.
Triggering any kill switch signals a relay to cut power to the positioner and the blade. You cannot power the
system until the kill switches reset.
Emergency Stop
The emergency stop (E-stop) is located on the front of the cabinet.
Pressing the E-stop immediately halts the saw motor, retracts the blade,
and raises the top cap.
Rotate the E-stop clockwise to reset.
Kill LIne
The kill line is a red cable stretching the entire length of the saw system.
Pulling the kill line triggers an emergency stop.
Pull the blue knob under the kill line switch until it clicks to reset.
If the blue knob won’t lock into place, adjust the kill line tension (page 6)

6
Safety Chain
Kill Line Tension
If the blue button on the kill line switch won’t
lock into place, adjust the kill line tension with
the tension plate eye bolt.
At proper tension, the black tab sits near the
center of its green band and the blue knob locks
into place; exposing its own green band.
saFeTy inTerlocks
There are three access doors on the TigerSaw
MiterXL.
Each access door is equipped with a separate
safety interlock.
The cabinet base door safety interlocks prevent
access to the saw cabinet until an emergency
stop has been triggered.
The guard door safety interlock releases after a
delay when the saw motor is turned o.
The saw motor will not activate while a safety
interlock is open.
The blade continues spinning after the
motor stops.
DO NOT disable or bypass the safety interlocks.
Replace failed safety interlocks immediately.

Slide Valve
Systems & Features
luBricaTion
Miter Table Lubrication
The equipped oil system keeps the miter table lubricated.
It applies oil to the miter table every 30 minutes, while the
blade is spinning.
The Lube indicator extinguishes when the reservoir is low;
refill it.
Refill the reservoir:
1. Lift up and then out to remove the cover.
2. Open the cap.
3. Pour ISO 68 bearing oil through the filter.
Leave the oil system at its factory settings.
Blade Lubrication
(Metal Cutting Configuration)
TigerSaw MiterXL (metal cutting configuration) is equipped
with a blade lubrication misting system. The lubrication
system has adjustments for the amount and density of
coolant dispensed.
• When properly adjusted, there is no lubricant
splatter during the cut and chips are dry. Finished
parts have a very small amount of lubricant on the
cut surface.
The Lube indicator extinguishes when the reservoir is low;
refill it to 80% capacity.
• Use Unist Coolube 2210AL (for aluminum cutting).
• Use Unist Coolube 2210 (for all other non-ferrous
cutting).
The slide valve on the air filter controls the lube mist system.
Slide the valve away from the air filter to deactivate the lube
mist system.
Instructions for adjusting the lube mist system are located
on the inside of its cover.

Systems & Features
clamPs
The TigerSaw MiterXL is equipped with an in-feed swing clamp, a fence clamp, and a top cap.
Swing Clamp
The swing clamp secures stock against the back fence as it
enters the miter cabinet. To adjust the swing clamp setting
see page 22.
Fence Clamp
The fence clamp pins the stock to the back fence while the
saw table pivots. It releases for the saw stroke and pins
again while the stock is pushed out.
Top Cap
The top cap is an overhead clamp that pins the stock to the
table during the saw stroke.

11
Systems & Features
Top Cap Lubrication
The top cap slides on two linear bearings, each equipped
with a grease nipple.
Use a grease gun to lubricate both linear bearings monthly
and anytime that top cap motion becomes uneven or noisy.
• Use a nozzle or coupler designed for standard
grease fittings.
• Use Molykote 44 or an equivalent bearing grease.
Top Cap Working Height
The top cap working height is set by the position of the
height adjustment rod.
Adjust the top cap working height:
1. Disconnect power and air.
2. Loosen the large locking handle.
3. Slide the height adjustment rod up or down.
4. Tighten the large locking handle.
Ideal top cap working height allows for 1 inch
(25 mm) of clearance for the tallest material.
