I. Descriptions
Color Assessment Cabinet is suitable for all industries and applications where there is
a need to maintain color consistency and quality. It includes, for instance,Automotive,
Ceramics, Cosmetics, Foodstuffs, Footwear, Furniture, Knitwear, Leather, Ophthalmic,
Dyeing, Packaging, Printing, Inks and Textile.
Since different light source has different radiant energy, when it reaches on the surface
of an article, different colors will reflect. With regard to color management in
industrial production, when an inspector is comparing the color consistency between
products and samples, but there may be color differences due to the light sources used
between in the production premises and those used by the client. In this case, color
under different light source might result differently. It may create some unnecessary
issues that the clients file a claim for color discrepancy or eventually result in rejection
of goods, which can affect the company’s creditability.
To resolve the above problem, the most effective way is to check the color under same
light source. For example, international practice applies Artificial Daylight D65 as
standard light source for checking the color of the goods.
It's very important to use standard light source to check color difference in night shift.
Besides D65 light source, TL84, CWF, UV and F/A light sources are available in this
Lamp Cabinet for metamerism effect.
II. Specifications of the Lamp Cabinet
1. Hepachromic artificial daylight acknowledged by CIE, 6500K color temperature.
2. Lighting scope: 750-3200 Luxes.
3. Background color of light source is neutral grey of absorbance. In using lamp
cabinet, prevent outer light from projecting on article to be checked. Don't place
any unconcerned articles in the cabinet.
4. Making metamerism test. Through microcomputer, the cabinet can switch
between different light sources in a very short time to check color difference of
goods under different light source. When lighting up, lamp flashing will not
occur in this cabinet as our home fluorescent lamp is lighted.
5. The use time of each lamp will be recorded correctly. Especially D65 standard
lamp shall be replaced after being used for over 2,000 hours to avoid possible
error resulted from aged lamp.
6. UV light source for checking articles containing fluorescent or whitening dye, or

be used to add UV to D65 light source.
7. Shop light source. Various clients often require other light source for color
check. For example, US clients prefer using CWF whereas European and
Japan clients prefer using TL84. It is because the goods are being displayed
and sold indoor and are under the shop light source and not under outdoor sun
light. It becomes more and more popular to use shop light source for checking
color.
III. Operation Instructions
1. Plug one end of power cable into socket at the backside of the lamp cabinet and
the other end into electric supply source (electric supply must comply with
nominal electricity of the cabinet.) After connecting the power, the display will
be lit to indicate that the power is on.
2. Press "ON/OFF" power switch once and the number of use and time will be
displayed.
3. Press D65 switch again and D65 lamp will be lit up. The number of use and time
will be displayed for D65 lamp. Pressing F, TL84 or UV switch, the
corresponding lamps will be lit up and the number of use and time will be
displayed accordingly. In case of need of using two or more light sources,
simply press two or more lamp switches as desired.
4. Put the articles to be checked at the center of the bottom of the lamp cabinet.
When comparing the color of two or more articles, do not observe them by
overlapping, instead, put them in the cabinet side by side.
5. It is recommended to assess the goods as Figure I. When the light ray is
reaching on the goods from top to down, the inspector should assess the goods
in 45 degree of angle.
6. After use, press ON/OFF switch to power off. Switch off the power of the lamp
cabinet if it will not be used for a long time.
7. Install new lamp as Figure II and read the instructions with care. Do not mix up
the lamps’ position. Note: After replacing, it is important to RESET the number
of use and time to [ZERO] for a new lamp as below procedures: press the new
lamp switch, insert a small screw driver or a pin to the central hole of CLR switch
and press, at the same time, the switch of the newly replaced lamp, the number
of use and time will be reset to zero as a new start. Note: Do not press CLR key
in case of not replacing lamp to avoid resetting data unwantedly.

V. Lamp Cabinet Warranty
1. Warranty period of lamp cabinet is one year except for misuse or damage
caused by users or the natural wear and tear of the lamps.
2. In case of dirt or damages found on the internal wall of lamp cabinet, clean it or
replace it, if any. Please consult with an authorized supplier for all fittings.
Important Notes
I. How to extend the lamp’s usage life cycle?
The lifecycle of lamp is dependent on the accumulative usage time and times of use.
For example, in the case where user uses the lamp for a long period of time meanwhile
he/she switches on and off the power repeatedly in a day, the life cycle of lamp will be
shortened. When we are to use the lamp cabinet several times within an hour of time,
it is recommended to keep power on instead of switching on and off repeatedly.
Generally speaking, each time of switching on the power is equivalent to the usage of
the lamp for one hour of time. Please power off the lamp cabinet in case of not using
the lamp over a long period of time. It is highly recommended not to switch between
lights unnecessarily in order to extend the effective life cycle of lamp.
II. How to change the current lamps to other lamps?
T60+ Cabinet has 5 standard light sources whereas P60+ has 6 standard light sources.
The user can replace the light sources as desired. For instance, if the user wants to
change the current lamp TL84 to TL83/U30 over a long period of time, remove the
current TL84 lamp and replace it by putting TL83/U30. The user can put a sticker
marked “TL83/U30” over the TL84 marking.

III. How to replace new lamp or other special light sources?
Light tubes and bulbs used in this standard light source cabinet are certified special
light sources for laboratory use, which are different from the ordinary household lamps
or bulbs. Only purchase new fittings from certified dealer for replacement. We can
supply various original fitting and other special light sources, including D65, TL84, CWF,
UV, F light sources, and imported fittings for D75, D50, D35, TL83, U30, INCA,
HORIZON international standard light sources.
IV. How to clean the wall of lamp cabinet?
If the internal wall of lamp cabinet is dirty with dust or handprint, use a clean white soft
and moistened cloth to wipe the dirt off. Do not use any hard objects (like knife or
cutter) or chemicals to clean to avoid damaging the absorbent coating of the inside wall
of lamp cabinet.
