SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Read all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term “power tool” in
all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Work area
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite
accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in
the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks
which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. Electrical safety.
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in
any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock
if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a
power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric
shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable
for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. Personal safety.
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when
operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used
for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position
before plugging in. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or
plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool
on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result
in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your

hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery
or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and
collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use
of these devices can reduce dust-related hazards.
4. Power tool use and care.
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for
which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate
the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the
power tools operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before
use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with
these instructions and in the manner intended for the particular type of
power tool, taking into account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5. Service
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
HEALTH ADVICE
WARNING! When drilling, sanding, sawing or grinding, dust particles will be
produced. In some instances, depending on the materials you are working with,
this dust can be particularly harmful to you (e.g. lead from old gloss paint).
You are advised to consider the risks associated with the materials you are working
with and to reduce the risk of exposure. You should:
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
-Work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially
designed to filter microscopic particles.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR SANDER
WARNING!Harmful/toxic dusts will arise from sanding e.g. lead painted surfaces,
woods and metals. Contact with or inhalation of these dusts can endanger the
health of operator and bystanders.
Always use eye glasses and dust mask.
Hearing protection should be worn when using detail sanders.
Double insulation:
The tool is double insulated. This means that all the external metal parts are electrically
insulated from the mains power supply. This is done by placing insulation barriers
between the electrical and mechanical components making it unnecessary for the tool
to be earthed.
Important note
Ensure your mains supply voltage is the same as your tool rating plate voltage.
Remove the main plug from socket before carrying out any adjustment or servicing.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Warning! Before using your sander be
sure to read the instruction manual
carefully.
1. FITTING THE SANDING PAPER (See Fig2)
(a)Make sure the plug is disconnected from the
mains supply.
(b)Align the dust extraction holes in the sanding
pad with the holes in the base and press firmly
together (see fig2).
(c)Spare sanding sheets can be purchased from
any good DIY store.
Warning! Always switch off and unplug

2. SWITCHING ON AND OFF (See Fig3a & 3b)
To operate the detail sander, put the plug into
mains supply(make sure On/Off switch is in Off
position see fig3a), grip sander firmly with both
hands and switch on (see fig3b). At all times, let
the sander do the work - do not force it or apply
excessive pressure, otherwise damage may
occur to the abrasive paper causing it to tear or
wrinkle. Preferably, use a light circular motion.
The sander can also be used on slightly curved
surfaces, owing to the rubber-made base plate.
The shaped base plate can be used to access
awkward corners / areas.
3. VARIABLE SPEED CONTROL (See Fig4)
According to the material to be sanded and
sanding paper specification, you can adjust
sanding speed by turning the speed selector
wheel. The greater speed is indicated by the
higher figure. The little speed is indicated by the
lower figure.
4. USING THE SANDER (See Fig5)
Note: If you see some sparks flashing in the
ventilation slots do not panic, this is normal and
will not damage the tool.
Be sure to hold the sander firmly whilst it is on
and apply it gently to the work; it may kick on first
contact. Hold the sander so that it is flat on the
work and move slowly, preferably in parallel line
movements. When you first turn it on, make sure
that your finger remains on the switch so you can
STOP the sander in case there is a problem.

Upon completion of sanding operation, turn
sander off and wait until it comes to a complete
stop before removing from workpiece.
Flush sanding can be performed with your
sander. The front edge of your sander allows
flush sanding.
The sander should run smoothly. Strange or
unnatural noise should be investigated and
corrected before operating the sander further.
Regularly check the condition of the abrasive
paper and replace when worn for best results.
Always keep the machine moving so the finish
of your work stays consistent. If you stay in one
place too long, then the sander may produce a
depression in the wood that will compromise
your finish.
5. ATTACHING SANDER TO VACUUM (See
Fig6)
Your sander is equipped with a dust extraction
adapter, which is designed for collect dust task.
Insert the dust adapter into the rear dust outlet of
sander. Then pull the dust adapter and make sure
it is tightened securely on the dust outlet. Then
connect the hose of a vacuum cleaner.
First please turn on the vacuum cleaner, then turn
on the sander. If you stop sanding, first turn off
the sander, then turn off your vacuum cleaner.
MAINTENANCE
1. Always clean dust and debris on the plate with
dry a cloth before replacing new sandpaper.
2. Do not use caustic cleaning agents to clean
plastic housing.
3. Always use only a soft, dry cloth to clean your
sander.
4. Always keep the dust extraction holes in the
vibrating plate free of dirt or other obstructions.
5. Water must never come into contact with the
sander.
Fig 6

TROUBLESHOOTING
Although your new sander is really very simple
to operate, if you do experience problems, check
the following:
If your tool can not work, please check the
plug and fuse first.
Sander will not start
Check that there is “mains” at the socket. Check
the connections in the plug; correct and tighten
poor connections.
Check the fuse; replace with correct rating fuse
if suspect.
Sander does not abrade surface
The abrasive paper will only abrade if in good
condition; replace the paper and try again.
The paper must be kept in a dry place; If it is
allowed to become damp, the abrasive particles
will lose their adhesion to the backing paper and
will not abrade.
Sander does not move smoothly
The abrasive paper may be damaged or wrinkled;
catching the paper on sharp corners or edges,
nails or screw heads may tear the paper. Replace
and try again.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Waste electrical products should not be
disposed of with household waste. Please
recycle where facilities exist. Check with
your Local Authority or retailer for recycling
advice.
