The falling pulse-phase of R.R pulse shall correspond to HD-falling phase or 1/2 HD
phase within ± 5 µ sec.
2. Relation between the storage time and the Image output at RESTART-RESET
operation
(1) RESTART operation

When RESTART-RESET operation, the signal stored during STORAGE A period can be output in the
period of IMAGING A as the below diagram.

1. RESTART-RESET
When normal external sync operation by HD-VD, the system cannot work normally without
consecutive VD every field (1V) as the below diagram.

(2) Slow speed shutter operation

during the period of IMAGING A as the below diagram.

3. Typical Examples of RESTART-RESET Operation
Random shutter operation, obtained one fame image, combined with RESTART-RESET and
strobe light.

CONTROL BOARD S4-3 ; ON
The strobe light is flashed by R.R (reset point). And the signal stored while strode light flashed
can be obtained at IMAGING A and IMAGING B as the below diagram. Then, the frame image
can be obtained without waiting time.

4. SPECIAL SHUTTER
(1) Relation between VD and readout timing
Relation VD and readout timing (SO) in CS8320B/CS832OBC is as follows.
The rising point of SG pulse comes to the timing to make the electronic shutter close.

(2) Electronic shutter by shutter trigger
QSetting inside of the camera
CONTROL BOARD S4-4 ; ON
* In case of operation with RESTART-RESET it requires to set S4-3.
* When internal sync operation, HD/VD are fed from camera.
The electronic shutter opens from approximately 2 µ sec. after the shutter trigger pulse rises up,
and closes at the rising point of SG pulse. In this case, by feeding and controlling phase-
difference between the rising pulse of the shutter trigger and VD falling, X µ sec., it is possible
to set any shutter speed. At this time, the shutter speed is defined by X+T.
Combined with RESTART-RESET, variable random electronic shutter can be performed.

NOTE
When the next trigger inputs, during one field period, active image period, right after
the shutter trigger, when image is output successively, sometimes, a scratch image
maybe occurred.
In that case, when the rising-phase of shutter trigger is in the active image period,
use to make the rising shutter trigger correspond with HD falling phase.
When only one field is output, it is possible to input with any phase.

(3) Typical example of SPECIAL SHUTTER
The method to make random shutter operation with frame image combined with
RESTART-RESET and SPECIAL SHUTTER
(But the image of the first field and the 2nd field is not the same time image.)

By feeding and controlling the rising phases of shutter trigger and R.R pulse, the signal to be
stored during STORAGE A is output at IMAGING A, and the signal stored during STORAGE B
is output from IMAGE B. Then, the frame image right after shutter trigger can be obtained
without waiting time.

5. Image Output in RESTART-RESET Operation
When RESTART-RESET operation in CS8320B and CS8320BC, V. SYNC and V.BLK are not
generated in the composite image signal right after R.R (reset point), one field period, but the
phase relation between reset timing (VD) and the image output does not change at all compared to
the normal operation.

6. Explanation of internal selection switches
The internal stricture of this camera is as shown in the figure below.

QMethod of setting the different modes
The different modes can be set using the switch S4 in the CONTROL board. The mode can be
selected by moving the DIP switches 1 to 6 to the left or the right position. Each
switch becomes OFF in the left position and ON in the right position.
At the time of shipment from the factory, all the switches will have been set to the left position.
