Please read all instructions before
using this appliance.
WARNING: Keep this appliance away from
water. Do not use the appliance near or over
water contained in baths, sinks or similar
water filled vessels. The appliance must not
be handled with wet hands, immersed in
water, held under running water or allowed to
become wet in any way. Keep this appliance
out of the reach of children and the infirm.
Young children should be supervised
to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
Do not leave the appliance unattended.
Do not allow bare skin or the eyes to come
into contact with any heated surface on
the appliance when in use. Do not place an
appliance on any heat-sensitive surfaces
when hot or plugged into the mains. Always
unplug the appliance when not in use.
WARNING: This appliance must not be taken
into the bathroom. For additional protection,
the installation of a residual current device
(RCD) with a rated residual operating current
not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the
electrical circuit supplying the bathroom.
Ask your installer for advice.
WARNING: Do not use this appliance on
synthetic hair or wigs.
NOTE: Use on dry hair only.
This product carries the CE mark and
is manufactured in conformity with the
Electromagnetic Directive 2004/108/EC
and the Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC.
WARNING: Should this product malfunction,
do not attempt to repair it. This appliance has
no user-serviceable parts or components.
WIRING
The mains lead of this appliance is fitted with
a 13 Amp (BS1363) rewirable plug fitted with
a 13 Amp fuse. If this is not suitable for the
sockets in the home, it should be removed
and disposed of safely and a suitable plug
should be fitted.
Proceed as follows: The wires in the mains
lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code:
Blue – Neutral
Brown – Live
If the colours of the wires in the mains lead
do not correspond to the coloured markings
identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
The blue wire must be connected to the
terminal marked with the letter N or coloured
black. The brown wire must be connected
to the terminal marked with the letter L
or coloured red. Never connect the blue
or brown wire to the earth pin E, when
using a three pin plug. The appliance must
be protected by a 13 Amp fuse if a 13A
(BS1363) plug is used.
This appliance complies with EU
legislation 2002/96/EC on end of
life recycling. Products showing
the ‘Crossed Through’ wheeled bin
symbol on either the rating label, gift box
or instructions must be recycled separately
from household waste at the end of their
useful life.
Please DO NOT dispose of appliance
in normal household waste. Your local
appliance retailer may operate a ‘take-back’
scheme when you are ready to purchase a
replacement product, alternatively contact
your local government authority for further
help and advice on where to take your
appliance for recycling.

Your TONI&GUY appliance is guaranteed against defects under normal use for two
years from the date of purchase. If your product does not perform satisfactorily because
of defects in materials or manufacture, it will be replaced. Please retain your till receipt
or proof of purchase for all claims within the two year period. For claims within the
first year, take the appliance back to the retailer from where purchased, for exchange
free of charge. For claims within the second year, contact Customer Services via email

advice. This guarantee does not cover defects which have occurred due to misuse,
abuse or are caused by failure to follow these instructions. This does not affect your

Glamour, but not as you know it
HEATING THE APPLIANCE
Plug the appliance into the mains. To switch
the appliance on, slide the On/Off switch to
the (I) position and rotate the Temperature
Control dial to the number that corresponds
to the heating level desired. Allow the
appliance a few minutes to heat up.
Do not, under any circumstances, leave
the appliance unattended when switched
on. To turn the appliance off, slide the
On/Off switch to the (0) position and unplug
the appliance.
RECOMMENDED HAIR TYPE USAGE
For first use it is recommended that you
start with the lowest heat setting and
gradually increase temperature to find a
suitable level. Only use as much heat as
you need for effective styling. Fine hair
will require a low heat setting and thicker,
less manageable hair will usually require a
medium/high heat setting.
LOCkING MECHANISM
This appliance has a lock mode which
ensures that the product remains in a closed
position when placed down. The appliance
can be locked by sliding the locking
mechanism towards the cord. To unlock
the appliance slide the locking mechanism
towards the plates.
STYLING
Separate a two-inch section of hair, gently
place the hair between the hot plates and
clamp down firmly on the handle. Hold for
5 to 8 seconds for fine hair and 10 to 15
seconds for thick hair (the ends will probably
require less heat than hair that grows closer
to the root). Carefully release the pressure
on the handle and allow the hair to gently
slide away from the plates. The waving
process requires some overlapping; match
the lower wave of the hair with the upper
edge of the plates each time. For best results
work from the root towards the ends of
the hair.
Allow hair to cool. Do not comb or brush the
hair as this will undo the style.
STORAGE
Always unplug when not in use.
Allow the appliance to cool before storing.
Always store in a dry location. Do not pull or
twist the cord. Do not wrap the cord around
the appliance, as this may cause the cord
to wear prematurely and break. If the power
cord of this appliance becomes damaged,
it must be replaced by returning to the
retailer from which the appliance was
purchased, or a similarly qualified person,
in order to avoid a hazard. Regularly check
the power cord for wear and damage
(particularly where it enters the appliance
and the plug).
CLEANING
Always unplug the appliance from the mains
after use and allow it to cool before cleaning.
To clean, wipe the straightener and plates
with a damp cloth. Ensure the appliance is
completely dry before use and that heated
surfaces on the unit are free of dust, dirt,
styling sprays and gels.
