kitchen scale. Please read these
instructions carefully before first use to
ensure consistent operation and maintain
the lifespan and accuracy of the kitchen
scale.
OPERATION
Turn the scale upside down and remove
the battery cover. Insert 2 x AAA type
batteries. Ensure the correct polarity
when inserting batteries. For best results,
use alkaline batteries. Replace the battery
cover. Place the kitchen scales on a firm,
even and flat surface and place the bowl
onto the weighing base.

only. The contents of the box may
differ from the illustrations, but the
functionality is the same.
Press the On/Zero button to switch the
scales on. They will be ready for use
when the LCD screen shows ‘0’, and,
the selected unit of measurement and
working mode indicators are lit up. Long-
press this button when the unit is in
operation to turn it off. Alternatively, the
unit will automatically go into standby
mode after about 30 seconds of inactivity,
and turn itself off after about 2 minutes of
inactivity.
NOTE: To maximise battery life, it is
recommended to turn the scales off
manually before storing or when they are
no longer in use.

Press the ‘Unit’ button to choose between
weight or liquid units. Long-press this
button to switch between metric (g/ml)
and imperial measurements (lb oz / fl oz.)
Press the On/Zero button at any time
to clear the weight of the items on the
weighing base. The weight of the items
on the LCD display will be cleared and
the ‘O’ (zero weight) or ‘T’ (Tare) indicators
will light up, depending on the total
weight load of the scales, as follows:
• If the total load represents 4% or less
of the scales’ maximum load (approx.
200g for a 5kg scale) the Zero
function will activate. The displayed
weight will be reduced to 0 and the
weight of the currently loaded items
will not be accounted for, and up to
5kg can be loaded from that point
on. For instance, if 150g are loaded
and the Zero function is activated,
up to a total of 5.150g can be loaded
onto the scales.
• If the total load represents 5% or
more of the scales’ maximum load
(over 200g for a 5kg scale) the Tare
function will activate. The displayed
weight will be reduced to 0 and
the total weight of the items on
the scale will be subtracted from
the maximum weight capacity; the
scales can only be loaded with as
much weight as applicable to add
up to 5kg. For instance, if 250g are
loaded and the Tare function is
activated, only a further 4,850g may
be loaded onto the scales (as 5,000g
– 250g = 4,850g.)

CAUTION
Replace the battery when ‘Lo’ appears on
the screen.
If ‘Err’ appears on the screen, the items
on the weighing bowl are too heavy.
Remove some of the items from the
weighing base and try weighing the
ingredients again.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
1. Ensure the kitchen scales are placed
on a firm, even and flat surface and
that they are steady before use. DO
NOT use the scales on carpet or
other soft surfaces.
2. The maximum capacity of the scales
is 5kg, which is the weight before
tare.
3. Clean the unit using a soft cloth
dampened with a suitable cleaner.
DO NOT immerse the scales in water.
Do not use abrasive cleaning liquids
or detergents on the unit.
4. Clean all plastic parts immediately
after contact with fats, spices,
vinegars or strongly flavoured or
coloured ingredients, to prevent
staining. Avoid contact with citrus
juices if possible.
5. DO NOT allow water to enter any
part of the unit, as it may damage
the internal components.
6. Keep the scales away from excessive
heat and extreme cold.
7. The kitchen scales are a high
precision measuring device. Handle
them with care. Do not shake, hit or
drop them and try to avoid knocks
and bumps.
8. The kitchen scale is for household
use only and not suitable for
professional use.
9. If the kitchen scale malfunctions,
first check the batteries and replace
them if necessary. If the problem
persists, please contact the seller or
our Customer Support team.
10. Please recycle the batteries
responsibly. Do not let children play
with the unit.

Tower products are tested before leaving
the factory. In the unlikely event of any
product proving to be faulty within 28
days of purchase, it should be returned
to the place of purchase to be replaced.
Refund and replacement is at the
discretion of the retailer.
If the fault develops after 28 days
and within 12 months of the original
purchase, you should contact our
Customer Support line quoting the
model number.
You may be asked to return a copy of
the proof of purchase. Subject to the
exclusions, the faulty product will then
be repaired or replaced and dispatched
usually within 7 working days of receipt.
If, for any reason, this item is replaced
during the 1 year guarantee period,
the guarantee on the new item will be
calculated from the original purchase
date.
Therefore it is vital to retain your original
till receipt or invoice to indicate the date
of initial purchase. To qualify for the 1
year guarantee, the product must have
been used according to the instructions
supplied.
The standard one year guarantee is only
extended to the maximum available
for each particular product upon
registration for the product within 28
days of purchase. If you do not register
the product with us within the 28 day
period, your product is guaranteed for 1
year only.
EXCLUSIONS
This guarantee does not confer any
rights other than those expressly set out
above and does not cover any claims for
consequential loss or damage.
This guarantee is offered as an additional
benefit and does not affect your statutory
rights as a consumer. Tower shall not
be liable to replace or repair the goods
under the terms of the guarantee
where the fault has been caused or is
attributable to accidental use, misuse,
negligent use or use contrary to the
manufacturer’s recommendations or
where the damage is caused in transit.
