Overview
All installation process of this air conditioner must comply with the national, provincial and local
regulations.
Before installing this air conditioner, please be careful to review the information within this manual.
This unit must be installed and serviced in the light of this manual so as to ensure the normal
and reliable operation of the air conditioner. The installation of this unit must be executed by the
specialized staff designated by our company.
This manual may not cover any circumstance encountered during the installation of this air
conditioning unit, so it is impossible that this manual gives directions for all possibilities occurred in
the course of installation. For more detailed information or special problem proposed by customers
but not detailed in this manual, please contact TRANE.

Safety instruction
Caution:
Please read this installation manual carefully and be sure to comply with the instructions in
this manual before installing and using this unit!
For this product, the following standards apply:
GB/T 18837-2002 JB 8655-1997 GB 4706.1-2005
The installation instructions apply to Trane TX(U)M series DC inverter multiple split
central air conditioning adopting R410A refrigerant. Contents in the instructions will
be changed at any time with the improvement of the unit, on that occasion, no further
prior notice will be provided.
Preparation before installation
Please have a qualified licensed professional technician handle the installation of this unit. Users•
may not install, repair or displace the air conditioner by themselves.
Set a special circuit. The voltage fluctuation shall not exceed +/-10% of the rated voltage, the•
electric power wire must separated from the welding transformer, because it will cause greater
voltage fluctuation.
Please have a qualified licensed professional technician handle the installation of this unit strictly•
in accordance with the national electric power standard and the regulations of local electric
power department. Inspect whether the circuit capacity satisfies the requirement, whether the
electric power wire becomes loose or has any damage.
Precautions during installation
Please make sure not touch the fins of the heat exchanger, because them will be possibly•
damaged, causing performance degradation or fingers scarification.
Cover plate of the electrical control box must be installed securely, to prevent dust or moisture•
from entering it. The electrical part must be against damp and far away the water source,
otherwise electric shock or fire may be caused.
After completion of installation, air tightness test must be done for the pipeline, to check if there•
is any leakage.
Precautions for the device adopting R140A refrigerant
Fill the cooling system firstly with the liquid refrigerant. If gas refrigerant is filled, composition of•
the refrigerant inside the system will be changed.
No other refrigerant will be mixed.•
The following tools used for the system adopting normal refrigerant (such as R22) shall not be•
applied: testing device for pipe pressure, fill hose, gas leak detector, refrigerant filling seat and
refrigerant recovery plant, etc.
Electronic check valve shall be provided additionally to avoid oil backflow in the vacuum pump.•
Precautions during trial operation
When the system is firstly powered on or is applied after long-time power off, the outdoor•
unit must be powered on before 24h of the operation, then the unit can be put into operation,
otherwise the compressor will be burnt (the air conditioner will be in the power-on state during
the season frequently used).
Don't start the air conditioner when the panel or protecting net is removed. Rotating parts inside•
the air conditioner may damage the human or other articles.
During the operation of the unit or the operation is just completed, the refrigerant pipe shall not•

be touched. The pipe may be very hot or very cold during the operation of air conditioner, leading
to scalding or cold injury.
Cut off the main power of the system during the season when the air conditioner won't be used•
for long time, to lengthen the service life of unit and save power.
Safety precautions
In order to avoid electric shock or fire and other possibly caused damages, the following rules shall be
kept in mind and strictly observed:
Don't sit on the direct air duct for a long time.
It is bad for your health when you sit on the direct air duct for long time, which needs special attention
during sleeping or baby, eldly and patient are in the air conditioner room.
Be sure only to use the fuse with correct current strength.
Don't use the temporary substitute, such as a piece of wire, which not only will damage the unit
itself, but will cause fire.
Don't put the heating device or other heat source under the air conditioner or nearby
it.
The body will deform after being heated.
To avoid the objects such as stick, sand or stone entering the inlet or outlet grille.
It is very dangerous when the fan runs at high speed. Children should be given special attention.
Installation of the air strainer must be correct whenever the air conditioner is
operated.
Otherwise dirt will enter the internal rotating parts and cause damage.
Fire will be caused if
electric wire is used.
OK!
Don't directly spray water on the machine when cleaning the unit.
Other wise electric shock will be caused.

Safety Instructions

The inlet or outlet grille shall not be blocked or covered.
It will reduce the performance and influence the normal running ability.
Prior to maintenance, please confirm that the unit is powered off.
Warnings for the users in application
Before all heat pump units are started firstly in winter for heating, the crank case of the compressor
must be guaranteed to preheat and power on for above 24h.
Method: switch on the power of air conditioner, without pressing any button on its control panel.
Purpose: guarantee the reliable operation of the compressor, to prevent its wet lubrication and
damage to the compressor due to performance degradation of the lubricant.
