ALPU
1. This product is intended for use only on data circuits with
operating voltages not to exceed 12VDC and DC power circuits
with operating voltages not to exceed 60VDC and operating cur-
rents not to exceed 10A.
2. Mounting the ALPU (See Diagram): Mount the device as
close to the equipment to be protected as possible using the
provided hardware and the concealed mounting holes. Mount
the unit in the orientation shown, with the strain reliefs facing the
ground.
3. Wiring the ALPU
3.1 The ALPU surge suppressor is bidirectional and may be
wired in either orientation.
3.2 Removing the Cover: Remove the 4 cover screws using
a Phillips screwdriver and lift off the cover.
3.3 Wiring: Thread a multiconductor cable from the data
source through one of the strain reliefs on the bottom of
the unit. Strip back the cable jacket as needed, then strip
1/4” off of each conductor. Gently pull the terminal block
off of the pcb pins, then install each conductor into thecor
responding screw-down location using the callouts on
the pcb as a guide. Finally, install the terminal block onto
the pin strip by rmly pressing it into place and tighten the
strain relief onto the cable (Do not over torque!!). Repeat
this procedure for the outgoing multiconductor cable running
to the equipment to be protected. Reinstall the cover.
3.4 Grounding: Connect the external ground lug on the en
closure to a solid Earth ground. The unit must be grounded
for the suppressor to operate properly!
