1 Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the TrekStor i.Beat organix . We are sure you will
enjoy countless hours of listening pleasure. The TrekStor i.Beat organix is a high-quality
MP3 player with numerous functions for enjoying music at home or on the go. Please read
the instructions in this manual before using the player.
1.1 Features
 Multi-codec support - Supports many formats including MP3, WMA, OGG and WAV
 Hi-speed USB 2.0 - Enables high-speed connections using USB Version 2.0 with up
to 480Mbps
 High-quality organic graphical LED display - The black and white organic LED offers

2.1 Note
The TrekStor i.Beat organix has only a few buttons to make operation as easy as possi-
ble. There are more functions than buttons, however. How long you hold down a button
determines which function you want to be carried out.
2.2 Basic functions
2.2.1 On/off
Switching on the TrekStor i.Beat organix
Hold down the ’ I q ’button for approx. 3 seconds.
Note: The key lock must be disabled. Make sure the ’Hold’ button is pushed
to the right. If the key lock has been switched off, a corresponding message
appears, and the TrekStor i.Beat organix switches off.
Switching off the TrekStor i.Beat organix
To turn the TrekStor i.Beat organix off, press and hold the ’ I q ’button for approx. 3 sec-
onds.

The TrekStor i.Beat organix can switch off automatically when it is not in use or after a
certain time depending on the automatic off function.
Resetting the player
You can reset your TrekStor i.Beat organix at any time using the ’Reset’ button. To do so,
press the ’SRS/A-B’,’Men¨ u/Rec’ and ’Mode’ buttons simultaneously. The player is immediately
reset and switched off.
2.2.2 Adjusting the volume
You can use the ’+’and ’-’to set the volume between 0 (min) and 25 (max). Press ’+’to
increase the volume and ’-’to decrease the volume.
 Press and release the buttons to adjust the volume gradually.
 Press and hold down the keys to display the time.
2.2.3 Locking the keys
To enable the key lock, push the ’Hold’ button to the left (in the direction of the arrow).
The key lock icon will appear on the display.
2.2.4 Dual earphone jack
The dual earphone jack allows you to use the TrekStor i.Beat organix with friends without
having to make any special settings.
Note: When earphones are connected to the line-in jack, the volume can only
be adjusted from 0 (min) to 21 (max).

2.3 Modes
Your TrekStor i.Beat organix has various modes (Play, FM radio1, Record, Read text, Time,
Games). To select a different mode, press and hold the ’Mode’ button for approx. one second.
Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to select Play mode and press the ’Mode’ button to confirm your
selection.

Playing audio files
To play an audio file, press the ’ I q ’button.
Pause
To interrupt an audio file, press and release the ’ I q ’button. To resume playing the audio
file, press the ’ I q ’again.
Changing tracks
Press and release the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to switch tracks. Press ’ II ’to play the next track.
Press ’ JJ ’within 5 seconds of starting a track to play the previous track. Once 5 seconds
have past, the TrekStor i.Beat organix jumps to the beginning of the current track instead
of the previous track.
Rewinding and fast forwarding a track
Press and hold ’ JJ / II ’to fast forward or rewind within a track. Use the ’ II ’button to fast
forward and the ’ JJ ’button to rewind in the track.
Note: The longer you hold the ’ JJ / II ’buttons, the faster the track will be
forwarded or rewound.

2.3 Modes
Repeating segments
Press and release the ’SRS/A-B’ button to set the starting point of the segment. The ’AB’
icon will appear on the display. Press and release the ’SRS/A-B’ again to set the end of the
segment. The ’AB’ icon will appear again. The segment is defined between these two
points and will be repeated. Press and release the ’SRS/A-B’ button to delete the settings
and resume normal play.
SRS WOW
SRS WOW is a registered trademark of SRS Labs, Inc.. WOW technology is also covered
by an SRS Labs, Inc. license.
Using the SRS WOW function You can change SRS sound effects in play mode or in
’stop’ mode. To do so, press and hold the ’SRS/A-B’ button. The SRS setting changes:
’normal’ ! ’SRS’ ! ’TruBass’ ! ’WOW’ .
normal: No sound effects; the music file is played in its original state.
SRS: Generates a realistic 3D surround sound effect
TruBass: Dynamic bass boost
WOW: Using both effects ensures the best possible sound.
You can use the equalizer (’EQ’ ) to adjust the sound to your preferences. For more infor-
mation, read section refbedien:klangkonfig.
Note:
 Using the SRS sound effects increases power consumption and reduces the
play time.
 You can only use the equalizer function in ’normal’ mode. A message
indicates whether an ’SRS’ function is on.

To select ’FM Radio’ mode, hold down the ’Mode’ button. Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to select
’FM Radio’ and press the ’Mode’ button to confirm your selection.
Note: The TrekStor i.Beat organix uses the earphone wire as an antenna for
the internal radio. You should therefore always plug in headphones when setting
up radio mode.
Listening to FM radio
 To go from manual (’scan’) to stored (’preset’) station selection, press and release
the ’Mode’ button.

 Press ’ I q ’to mute the TrekStor i.Beat organix . Press the button again to switch off
the mute function.
Finding stations manually
Changing the frequency manually In (’scan’) mode: Press and release the ’ JJ / II ’buttons
to change the frequency by 0.1MHz up or down respectively. If you press and hold ’ JJ ’or
’ II ’buttons, your TrekStor i.Beat organix will automatically search the upper and lower
frequency ranges for stations.
Saving frequencies In ’Preset’ mode: Select the memory location you want to use to
store a frequency. Press and release the ’Mode’ button again to go to ’Scan’ mode. Set the
frequency you want to store and press and release the ’SRS/A-B’ button. The selected station
will now be stored at the respective memory location. Press and release the ’Mode’ button
to go back to ’Preset’ mode to toggle between memory locations.
Finding stations automatically
Automatic memory usage In ’Preset’ mode: Press and release the ’SRS/A-B’ to use the
automatic station search feature. Your TrekStor i.Beat organix will automatically find radio
stations and store them to the 15 memory locations.
Changing stations In ’Preset’ mode: Press the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to toggle between memory
locations. Press ’ II ’to go to the next station. Press ’ JJ ’to go to the previous station.

Recording radio programs (manual)
Hold down the ’Men¨ u/Rec’ button for longer then two seconds when the TrekStor i.Beat
organix is in FM Radio mode to begin recording radio transmission. To stop recording,
press the ’Men¨ u/Rec’ button.
Recording radio programs (automatic)
To select ’Record mode’ , hold down the ’Mode’ button. Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to select
’FM Rec. Setting’ . Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to toggle between ’Begin recording’ ,
’Recording length’ ,’Frequency’ , and use the ’+/-’buttons to change the settings. To
begin programming press ’Mode’ . Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to set the record cycle and press
’Mode’ again to confirm.
Note:
 You must reset programs before each use.
 You cannot use the automatic record function and the alarm function at
the same time.
2.3.3 Recorder
To select ’Record’ mode, hold down the ’Mode’ button. Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to select
’Recorder’ and press the ’Mode’ button to confirm your selection.
Line-in recording
 Connect the line-in device to the line-in jack.
 Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to select ’Line-in Recorder’ . Recording begins.

 To stop recording, press and release the ’Menu’ button.
Note:
 The recording format is MP3.
 You can choose between different recording sources and combinations.
 Recordings from different sources are stored in separate subdirectories.
 The main menu gives you the option of adjusting the bit rate of each
recording source according to your preferences. For more information, see
section 2.4.4.
Note: Hold down the ’Men¨ u/Rec’ button for longer then two seconds when the
TrekStor i.Beat organix is in Play mode to begin recording speech.
2.3.4 Reading text
To select ’Read text’ , hold down the ’Mode’ button. Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to select
’Read text’ and press the ’Mode’ button to confirm your selection.
All available text files ’*.txt’ are displayed. Use the ’+/-’buttons to select the required text
file and press the ’Mode’ button to open it.
Note:
 You can save up to 20 text files on your TrekStor i.Beat organix .
 Text files can be up to 10KB.
 You can save text files to any folder in your TrekStor i.Beat organix . Your
TrekStor i.Beat organix displays all stored text files regardless of where
they are stored.

 Text files are not displayed in ’Manage folders’ mode. They are displayed
only in ’Read text’ mode.
2.3.5 Time Setting
To select ’Time Setting’ mode, hold down the ’Mode’ button. Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to
select ’Time Setting’ and press the ’Mode’ button to confirm your selection.
Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to choose from ’Clock’ ,’Alarm Setting’ and ’Stop Watch’ .
Clock
Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to choose from ’hours’ ,’minutes’ and ’seconds’ and use the
’+/-’buttons to change the settings. Press ’Mode’ to save the settings.
Note: In Play mode, hold down the ’+/-’keys to display the time.
Alarm Setting
Use the ’ JJ / II ’buttons to choose from ’hours’ ,’minutes’ and ’seconds’ and use the
’+/-’buttons to change the settings. Press ’Mode’ to confirm your selection. Use the ’ JJ / II ’
buttons to choose between once, daily or off and press ’Mode’ .
Note:
 You must reset programs before each use.
 You cannot use the alarm function and the automatic record function at
the same time.

2.3 Modes
Stop Watch
To start the stop watch, press the ’Mode’ button. Press the button again to stop the stop
watch. You can repeat this process. The total time is shown in the display. Hold down the
’Mode’ button the reset the time.
Note: The stop watch must be stopped before you can exit Stop Watch
mode. Press one of the ’+/-’buttons to return to the Time Setting menu.
2.3.6 Games
To select ’Game’ mode, hold down the ’Mode’ button. To start the ’Slot machine’ game,
press ’Mode’ .
2.3.7 Manage folders
In Play mode, press and release the ’Mode’ button to go to the manage folders and files
function.
Navigating in the Manage folders feature
Previous/next
file/folder: Press the ’ JJ ’and ’ II ’buttons to go to the previous/next
file or folder.
Set jump: In Manage folder, press and hold the ’SRS/A-B’ button to skip
files and folders. The display indicates
pressing ’ JJ ’or ’ II ’skips 1 file/folder at
a time or 8 files/folders in the required
direction. To change the number of files you
want to jump, hold down the ’SRS/A-B’ button to go to

the required navigation mode.
Confirming your selection: Press the ’Mode’ button to confirm your selection (one folder
or one file).
Deleting files: To delete a file, select the file and press ’SRS/A-B’ . A prompt
appears. Select ’Yes’ to confirm and
press ’Mode’ .
Playing a folder: Select the required folder and press ’Men¨ u/Rec’ . Press ’ I q ’to
play only the contents of that folder.
2.4 Main menu
Select Play mode. Press the ’Men¨ u/Rec’ button to go to the ’main menu’ .
Use the following buttons to navigate through the menu:
’ JJ ’and ’ II ’: Use these buttons to go to the
previous/next menu item.
Confirm selection: Press ’Mode’ to open the selected
menu item.
Exit: Press the ’+/-’keys to exit a menu
without saving the settings.
Note:
 You cannot use the ’Adjust volume’ function when you are in the main
menu.
 You can only access the settings menu in Play mode.

’Equalizer Setup’ Your TrekStor i.Beat organix has 12 different equalizer settings includ-
ing a user-defined equalizer setting (User EQ) and an automatic equalizer setting (Auto
EQ) depending on the file currently being played.

The SRS function generates a realistic 3D surround sound effect and provides a dynamic
bass boost. The SRS menu offers different bass and treble settings and the SRS volume.

You can also adjust the sound for small earphones, headphones, and small, medium and
large speakers.

LCD Scroll Speed
 ’LCD sleeptime’ - Use this mode to set the display backlight to switch off automat-
ically. Choose from 3, 5, 10, 20 seconds or none.
 ’LCD Scroll Speed’ - If the ’ID3 Tag’ or file name exceeds the display size, you
must scroll down to view the rest of the information. There are five different scroll
speeds (1 to 5).
 ’Visual setup’ - Set up the display according to your preferences. Turn on or off
the equalizer display, fade display and ID3 Tag display.
