be certain to power off
the device before
you install the
Bypass LAN
Module.
ESD Requirements1
Damage from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can
occur when you handle electronic components
improperly. Improper handling can also result in
total or intermittent system failures. Use proper
ESD protection whenever you handle equipment.
Follow these general grounding guidelines:
Place a removed component board-side-up on an
antistatic surface or in a static-shielding container
that is also grounded to the same point as the
device. If you plan to return the component to the
factory, immediately place it in a static-shielding
container.
Review the release notes for your product for
any late-breaking changes to the installation
instructions.
Avoid touching the circuit boards or connectors
on all cards and modules.
Avoid contact between printed circuit boards
and clothing. The wrist strap only protects
components from ESD voltage on the body.
ESD voltage on clothing can still cause damage.

Step1.
Remove the protective damper covering the empty slot on
EdgeIPS Pro-1048 or 2096.
Step2.
Insert the LAN module into slot 1, slot 2, slot 3, or slot 4.
Please slide the module into the empty module slot and fix the slide lock.
Step3.
Power on the device. Step4.
