TRIBUTARY TANGO User manual

TANGO OWNER’S MANUAL
ALWAYS WEAR A COAST GUARD APPROVED FLOTATION DEVICE
WHEN PADDLE BOARDING.
Know the limits of your abilities and the limits of your equipment.
Changes in air temperature and elevation may cause the air inside the Tango
to expand which could cause the board to burst. Always release some air when
these conditions occur.
Never leave your board under full pressure sitting in direct sunlight when it is
out of the water.
This owner’s manual will help you with initial set-up of your new SUP, maintenance tips, and cover simple field repair.

Inflated Tango
1. Unscrew the dust cap from the valve.
2. Turn the valve stem 1/4 turn. This positions the valve stem in the up and closed position.
Having the valve stem in the closed position allows air to be pumped into the chamber and
will prevent the air from escaping.
3. Connect the vinyl valve adapter to the pump hose.
4. Slide the vinyl tube adapter into the valve for a tight friction fit.
5. Inflate the board chamber to 8 psi, or when the pressure release valve starts to release air.
This pressure will not allow much deflection.
1. Slide the fin back into the fin base.
2. Lock the fin in place with the pin.
3. You can use any fin configuration you
would like. Standard is the large fin in the
center, and the small fins on the side.

Pump
If an electric pump is used for initial inflation, a high pressure hand pump must be used
to top off the board to full pressure.

1. The Tango is design to take a little water into the floor pocket for extra stability. When done SUPing, elevate the nose of the
SUP to allow the extra water to drain.
2. Release the fins.
3. To deflate the board, push down and turn the valve stem 1/4 turn. This positions the valve stem in the down or open posi-
tion. Having the valve stem in the open position allows air to escape from the chamber.
4. Roll the Tango towards the valve.
5. Place the Tango, fins, and SUP pump in the bag.
Rolling & Storage
Your SUP is constructed with high quality materials and superior workmanship, however, as with all outdoor equipment, proper
cleaning and maintenance will extend the life and performance of the product.
To keep your board performing at its best, please following these simple instructions.
• Do not set your board on sharp objects.
• Do not over inflate your board.
• Keep the zippers clean.
• Clean the board with soap and water only.
• Allow the board to dry before rolling.
• After using your board in salt water, thoroughly rinse with fresh water.
Deck seems kinked after being rolled.
• The Tango comes with an extra ridged deck plate for more comfortable standing. Simply inflate and allows the deck
plate to relax into place.
Valve does not retain air when pump is removed.
• Be sure the valve stem is in the up and closed position.
• Clear any debris that might be preventing the valve from sealing. This can be accomplished by either pumping
quick bursts of air into the valve or removing the core valve assembly and cleaning the valve with a cotton swab and
denatured alcohol.
• Tighten valve if necessary.
Board becomes soft after inflation.
• Top off air pressure in the cold water to counter thermal contraction.
• Make sure the valve is functioning correctly, with no signs of leaking.
• Find the hole in the AIREcell and patch with the Tear Aid patch.
Zipper is difficult to operate.
• Use a combination of soap, water and an old toothbrush to clean the zipper.
Tear Aid patch does not stick to the AIREcell.
• Make sure the area to be patched is dry and clean. Use the alcohol pads to prep the area.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Basic Troubleshooting

Items Needed:
Rag
Type A adhesive patch
Alcohol prep pad
1. For most repairs, the AIREcell does not need to be removed completely.
2. Locate the hole in the board and access that area of the AIREcell and outer skin by opening the zipper.
3. Using a rag, dry the area to be worked on.
4. Clean the area with alcohol prep pad and let the area air dry.
5. Peel backing paper off Type A adhesive patch and apply patch over punctured area. (See Tear Aid instruction sheet for more
details.)
6. Press and rub patch so that the patch seals completely, without bubbles.
1. Use the baseball stitch to repair cuts on the outer skin.
2. Each stitch for the baseball stitch starts at the BACK and comes through to the FRONT.
Items Needed:
Repair needle
Repair thread
