- Corrective measures for the touch panel operation failure.
Tough touching the icon on the home screen, the response of the touch panel is poor and opening the next screen delays or it locks up with no response.
Change: If there is large machinery nearby MFP and power ground is not secure, the power source noise could lead to cause malfunction.
Therefore, the detection threshold and coefficients of the touch panel are changed to reduce the influence of the noise
Note: - Upgrade this firmware by storing it only in a USB drive.
If attempting upgrade with other firmware (MAIN, MMI, etc.) it might stop. Remote upgrade in not available.
- This phenomenon does not apply to the 25/32ppm models with different type touch panel.

C
ONTENT OF
C
HANGES
:
- Support when “Print in White & Black” is selected.
If [Toner is Empty] is displayed while enough toner resides in the toner container when “Print in White & Black” is selected in “Color Toner Empty Action”, the toner empty is not cleared
unless replacing the applicable toner container. Change is made as follows.
Change: “Shake Toner Container” is displayed on the operation panel depending on residing toner amount. If not recovered with this action three times continuously, it is transitioned
to “Toner Low”.
- Corrective measures for the C4600 “LSU cleaning motor error” detection.
At the time of the LSU cleaning, if the cleaner is pinched by the rail at the edge, the load to return might be large and it might not return within the specified time. Then, C4600 might be
detected. Change is made as follows.
Change: The drive is changed to apply larger drive torque for 120ms after the cleaner reverses.
- Corrective measures for the transfer to paper falling out.
When entering into the toner disposal mode between pages at the timing of switching from the color drive to BW , transfer to paper might not be controlled correctly and the image might
be light.
- Corrective measures for the failure with DF-7110 / MT-730 - jam when ejecting to MT-730.
If ejecting A3 or Ledger size paper to MT-730, AK motor steps out and jam might occur in between the AK and MT-730.
Jam code might occur: J4911, J4912, J4913, J4914, J4915, J4918, J4919, J5001, J5002, J5003, J5004, J5005, J5008, J5009, J5011, J5012, J5013, J5014, J5015, J5018, J5019,
J6100, J6110, J6200, J6210, J7800 or J7810.
-This does not occur at eject to Tray A, B and Booklet
-This does not occur if the punch unit is installed
-This does not occur at 32/25ppm models
-Only when DF-7110 is installed
- Corrective measures for the failure with DF-7110 / MT-730 - jam when ejecting mixed sizes to MT-730 (1).
When ejecting mixed sizes of Ledger/Letter-A3/A4 to MT-730
If ejecting A3/Ledger successively after A4/Letter, switching the conveying speed might fail at DF-7110 and jam might occur at MT-730.
- Corrective measures for the failure with DF-7110 / MT-730 - jam when ejecting mixed sizes to MT-730 (2).
When ejecting mixed sizes of Ledger/Letter-A3/A4 to MT-730
If ejecting A4/Letter successively after A3/Ledger, the small size enters into AK before the trailing edge of the large size paper exits AK. When
the paper conveying speed of AK increases for the small size, the trailing edge of the large size is greatly bent at the DF loading section, and it might be damaged or Z-folded.
-This might occur at 60ppm model ・Only when DF-7110 is installed
Check Toner Container
Open the front cover of the main unit and
take out the toner container.
Shake the toner container well and reseat it
Reference:
If pressing “Open Toner Container Cover”,
the toner container cover once closed can be
opened

- Corrective measures for the failure with DF-7110 - abnormal sound from DF-7110 shift guide.
When ejecting paper to Tray A with job offset successively after ejecting paper to Tray A, B or MT-730 without finishing, the shift guide might move to outside range of motion and
abnormal sound might occur. If paper is ejected in this state, J300 jam might occur.
Error code that might occur: J7914, J7915, J300, C8110 or C8120
-This does not occur at 32ppm and 25ppm models.

inner cover to the new ones at the same time.

DP-7120: Corrective measures for paper jam J9110 / J9410
Model: DP-7120 2506ci, 2507ci, 3206ci, 3207ci,

T
OPIC
:
If the position of the main unit and DP shifts due to vibration or impact to the main unit with the DP in transit, SHEET LEFT
GUIDE F/R (A in the figure below) affixed to the paper conveying surface of the DP might deform and J9110 (DP feed
sensor double feed jam) or J9410 (DP timing sensor stay jam) might occur.
The following is changed. (Refer to page 2 for the cause of occurrence.)
C
ONTENT OF CHANGES
:
Spacer (No.1) is affixed to the DP right hinge to prevent the DP position shift.
F
IELD
M
EASURE
:
Execute the following when the above phenomenon occurs.
1.) Affix the spacer (No1) to the DP right hinge. (Refer to page 3.)
2.) Replace SHEET LEFT GUIDE F/R (Machine front side: 303M82417_, Machine rear side: 303M82418_), FILM READING
LEFT (303PH0202_, B in the above figure). (Refer to page 10.) / (Note 1)
3.) Adjust the squareness. (Note 2)
Execute the following before moving the unpacked main unit.
Before moving the main unit with the DP, place A2 size paper on the contact glass and close the DP. (When shipping from
factory, (when unpacked), A2 size paper is placed on the contact glass as in the figure above and utilize it if necessary.)
*Apply this treatment to the main unit after this change.
Note 1: FILM READING LEFT (B) is affixed under SHEET LEFT GUIDE F/R (A) with double sided tape and replace it together.
Note 2: Refer to the leading edge and trailing edge skew in the DP-7120 installation guide.

O
CCURRENCE MECHANISM
(SHEET
LEFT
GUIDE
F/R:
DEFORMED
A):
The position of the DP might shift in the clockwise direction at the DP left hinge as fulcrum due to the backlash of the DP
right hinge as influenced by the impact in transit of the main unit and repeated DP open/close. (Note 3) As the result,
SHEET LEFT GUIDE F/R (A) might be caught up by the parts (C, D) opposing to it at the main unit side. If the DP
open/close is repeated at this state, SHEET LEFT GUIDE F/R (A) might deform. Note 3: No backlash is generated at the
DP left hinge with the stress of the spring attached to keep standing still when the DP is opened.
