TRU Audio SAT3 User manual

TruAudio offers the perfect solution for on-wall
or bookshelf mount satellite speaker, with the
world’s easiest and fastest 360° mount. These
sphere shaped speakers were specifically
designed and built to provide superior quality,
power handling and outstanding sound stage.
Both models can easily handle the current and
past formats that today’s audio/video demands.
This makes these ideal for your home theater
and 2 channel TV listening.
Both the SAT3 (left and right) and SAT3CC
(center channel) were designed to be installed
on the wall, in a cabinet. Both models feature
attractive, esthetically pleasing cabinets with
the most flexible mounting system TruAudio has
ever designed. With this new magnetic mount
the speaker attaches with one quick step and
you can aim the speaker in almost any direction
with ease.
The SAT3 is a mono speaker meant for both
audio and video. This model can be used for the
front left, right and surround sound speakers.
These speakers can be mount on the wall or on
a shelf.
The SAT3CC pushes the limit of innovation.
With the same ground breaking magnetic mount
this speaker will complete any surround sound
system.
Both models feature TruAudio’s our new high-
efficiency, full bandwidth drivers and 1” Titanium
tweeter.
All models are timbre matched to each other, as
well as other TruAudio architectural speakers so
combining different models in anAV system will
not be a problem. Additional TruAudio speakers
can be added to a system with the confidence
that the speakers will remain balanced.
Unpacking and Inspection:
These on-wall loudspeakers are packaged
extremely well to make sure no damage occurs
during shipping. Carefully open the box and
remove the speaker. Inspect it immediately for
any kind of damage. The speaker should have
left our warehouse in perfect condition so any
damage must be reported to your dealer or to
TruAudio right away. Please contact us
immediately at 1.888.858.1555
All service to this product MUST be done by
a TruAudio Authorized repair center. If you
try to do any kind of repair, this will void the
warranty!
We recommend that you retain the packaging in
case a need arises for you to transport your
loudspeakers.
Home Theater Use:
Today’s Home Theater systems require 6 or
more speakers for true, life like Home Cinema
listening. These speakers are: the front right
and left, the center channel, right and left
surround (rear), and a subwoofer. Some
systems also require additional surround
speakers or rear centers to enhance the theater
sound. The placement for these speakers is
critical to having your home theater experience
the best it can be.
Before Installation:
In order for these speakers to perform to their
potential, we recommend the amplifier or
receiver must have the proper amount of power
output. For both models we suggest using,
User Manual - SAT3 and SAT3CC - Satelite Speaker
User Manual - SAT3 and SAT3CC - Satelite Speaker
SAT3 150 watts and the SAT3CC 175 watts.
These speakers require 2 conductor speaker
cable when connecting to the amplifier/
receiver. For most applications, we suggest
using a good quality, high strand 16 gauge or
larger
If the speaker cable will be run inside the wall or
ceiling, make sure the speaker cable is UL
certified and is accordance with all your local
building regulations.
Speaker Placement SAT3:
The SAT3 was designed to be used for the front
right and left. They can be mounted on the wall
or use the mounts in cabinetry.
Note: Both mounts are designed to installed
over a single gang box.
Mounting speakers on the wall:
CATUTION: PLEASE USE THE PROVIED
SAFETY CABLE TO SECURE THE SPEAKER
TO THE MOUNT!
First you need to connect your speaker cable to
the speaker terminals, making sure to keep
your polarity correct. See figure #1
Mounting to a single gang box or directly to the
wall is the same, either use the provided screws
to mount to the box or use your preferred
hardware to mount directly to the drywall. Make
sure when you are installing the mount to put
the screw through the eye hole on the safety
cable. See figure #1 IMPOTANT: We highly
recommend using the safety cable. Depending
on the finial position of the speakers, the
mounts can be installed in either direction. See
figures #2 and #3
If mounting like figure #2, you will need to
reroute the safety cables the white interlink
speaker cable through the underside of the
mount. Do this by pulling the interlink cable
connector and safety cable through the hole in
the mount. Then remove the rubber grommet
from the bottom of the mount and find the notch
in the mount and in the grommet and match
them together. These notches provide a space
to route the interlink and safety cables through.
See figure #4 Now the mount will install flush on
the wall.
fig #1
fig #2 fig #3
fig #4
Once the mount is installed securely it’s time to
attach the speaker. First connect the interlink
connector the back of the speaker. See
figure_#5
Now it very INPORTANT to attach the safety
cable to the back of the speaker. See Figure #6
Even though the mount will safely hold the
speaker the safety cable will prevent the
speaker falling in an earthquake or something
hitting it.
The final step is to install the finish cover plate
over the cables and terminals. See Figure #7
This cover plate will cover all the undesirable
cable and connectors.
Now you can move the speaker in just about
any direction to create the perfect sound stage.
Cleaning the speaker:
The SAT3 and SAT3CC feature a highly durable
aluminum finish. When needed, we suggest
cleaning with a damp cloth with water only. Do
not use any kind of abrasive cleaners or
detergents.
