Disconnect power before wiring.
Male Plug:
NOTE: Select wire size adequate for load. Refer to NEC tables article 400.
CORD TYPE: S, SO, SOO, ST, STO, STOO, SOW, SOOW, STW STOW, STOOW;
0.75-in max cord diameter.
WIRE SIZE: #8 through #10 AWG
IMPORTANT: This is a 30 Amp, 125/250 V RV replacement plug (NEMA TT-30P) or
replacement receptacle (NEMA TT-30R) for use in dry locations. Use copper wire only.
WARNING: DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE WIRING. FAILURE TO WIRE AS
INSTRUCTED MAY CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE TO DEVICE OR
EQUIPMENT. MUST BE INSTALLED BY AN ELECTRICIAN OR QUALIFIED PERSON
ONLY. DO NOT USE AT ANY TIME IF HOUSING IS CHIPPED, CRACKED,
OR BROKEN.
Preparing the Cable
Remove the original male plug by severing the cable.
Strip 2-3/4” of the cable insulation being careful not to cut into the insulation of
the internal wires.
The internal wires in the colors of BLACK, GREEN, and WHITE should now
be exposed.
Cut the BLACK and WHITE wires to 1-3/4” in length.
Strip the insulations of all three wires to expose 3/4” worth of the inner stranded
copper. Do not solder the ends of the wire.
Refer to Wiring Diagram 1 for more information.

Assembling the New Male Plug
Remove the cover by loosening and removing the three screws as indicated on
Housing Diagram 1.
Loosen the two screws to loosen the strain relief clamp as shown on Housing
Diagram 1.
Loosen the three terminals and clamps by untightening the screws. Each prong can
be removed from the plug by gently applying pressure to the prongs from the
outside of the housing.
Feed the cable through the bushing and strain relief clamp.
Feed each stranded copper wire underneath the terminal clamp as shown in the
Wiring Diagram 2.
NOTE: Make sure all individual copper strands of each wire are tucked underneath
the terminal clamp. Twist the strands together if necessary.
Proceed on securing each wire to the terminal clamps by tightening the screws and
re-seat each of the prongs back into the housing.
Make sure all wiring connections are made as indicated on Wiring Diagram 2.
Tighten the screws of the strain relief clamp.
Replace and tighten the screws to reassemble the male plug.

Cut the GREEN wire to 1-1/2” in length.
Strip the insulations of all three wires to expose 1/2” worth of the inner
stranded copper.
Refer to Wiring Diagram 3 for more information.

Assembling the New Female Receptacle
