1Productinformation
Thesecommercialfloorcleaning machinesare
designed forthe high speed polishing, spraycleaning
and burnishing ofhardfloorsinindoorareas. A
passivedust controlsystemissupplied asstandard
witheachmodel. Inaddition astandardvacuumunit
oravacuumunit withHEPA filtration areavailableas
accessorieswhichcan be easilybe fitted tothese
machinesmaking themspeciallysuited forusein
hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices
and rentalbusinesses.
The following instructionscontainimportant
information about the machinesand safetyadvicefor
the operator.
NOTE -Toprotect the machine frompossible
damage during transit, the machine baseand handle
arepacked seperately. Ensurethat bothitemsare
present and followthe simpleassemblyinstructionsto
bring the machine intoservice.
Equipment must be operated, serviced and
maintained inaccordancewiththe manufacturer’s
instructions.
Ifin doubtcontactthesupplier ofyourmachine.
1.1ImportantSafetyAdvice
When using electricalequipment basicsafety
precautionsshouldbe followed including the
following.
•Read all instructionscarefullybeforeuse.
•Keep children and unauthorised personsawayfrom
the machine when inuse.
•Do not leavethe machine connected tothe
electricitysupplywhen not inuse, alwaysremove
the plug fromthe socket-outlet.
•Switchoff the machine beforeremoving the plug.
•When unplugging pull the plug, not the supplycord.
•Keep the powersupplycordclearofmoving parts.
During operation hazardmayoccurwhen running
the machine overthe powersupplycord.
•Do not operatethe machine withadamaged
supplycordorplug, orafterthe machine
malfunctionsorisdamaged inanyway. Contact an
authorised ServiceAgent forrepairoradjustment.
•The plug ofthe powersupplycordmust be
removed fromthe socket-outlet before
commencing cleaning ofthe machine or
undertaking maintenanceoperations.
•The powersupplycordistobe regularlyinspected
forsignsofdamage. Ifthe powersupplycordis
damaged, it hastobe replaced.
•Do not usewherehazardousdust ispresent.
•Do not useinan explosiveatmosphere.
•Takecarewhen using amachine nearthe top of
stairstoavoidoverbalancing.
1.2Guidelinesfortheoperator
•Operatorsmust be fullytrained inthe useofthe
machine inaccordancewiththeseinstructions, able
toperformusermaintenanceand the correct
selection ofaccessories, i.e. brushesand padsetc.
•Operatorsshouldbe physicallycapableto
manoeuvre, transport and operatethe machines.
•Operatorsshouldbe abletorecogniseunusual
operation ofthe machine and report anyproblems.
•Keep handsand feet well clearofrotating brushes.
•Wearsuitablefootweartoavoidslipping.
•Wearsuitableclothing tokeep dry and warm.
•Wherepossibleimplement job rotation and
adequaterest periodstoavoidcontinuoususe
ofthe samemuscles.
•Do not smokewhen using the machine.
•CAUTION -Thismachine isfordry useonly
and shouldnot be used orstored outdoorsin
wet conditions.
1.3Transporting themachine
CAUTION-THISMACHINEISHEAVY
Do notattemptto lift themachinewithout
assistance. Incorrect lifting techniquesmayresult in
personalinjury.
When transporting the machine the handleshouldbe
locked inthe upright position.
2Preparingforuse
2.1Fitting thehandle
1. Carefullyremovethe machine baseand handle
fromtheirrespectivepackaging.
2. Check that the following itemsarepresent withthe
base:-
-Vacuumskirt
-Dust bag
-M8x70 Bolt (3)
-NylocHex. nut (3)
-Plainwasher(6)
-Spanner(2)
3.Takehandleand removetiefromthe knuckle
pivot, ensuring that toothed geardoesnot fall out
ofhousing when tieisremoved.
4. Withthe handleheldverticallyand cablewinderto
the rear, lowerpivot between the raised flangeson
the machine base.
5. Align holesinpivot withthoseon the baseand fit
the three M8bolts, washersand nuts, and tighten
using the spannerand Allen keysupplied (Fig.1).
6. Connect supplylead fromhandletosocket on side
ofmotorhousing.

2.2Fitting thedustbag
•Withthe handlelocked inthe upright position, pull
handlebackwardstorest on the floorthereby
raising the cleaning head.
•Removethe dust bag coverfromthe machine base
byunclipping the rearedge ofthe coverand lifting
off (Fig. ).
•Fit the dust bag ontothe hoseconnectoron the skirt
and arrange the bag withinthe base, and refit the
dust bag cover.
•Check periodicallytosee whetherthe bag needsto
be emptied orreplaced.
2.3Electricalconnection
Beforeconnecting the machine tothe powersupply,
check that yoursupplyvoltage correspondswiththat
marked on the rating labelon the handleofthe
machine.
UKonly
The supplycordisfitted withanon rewireableplug
containing a13 ampfuse. Shouldthe fuserequire
replacement it must onlybe replaced bya13 amp
fuseconforming toBS1362, and the fusecovermust
be refitted. Ifthe fusecoverislost the plug mustnot
be used until the correct replacement coverisfitted.
IMPORTANT -Ifthe supplycordisdamaged, it must
onlybe replaced byaspecialcordavailablefromthe
manufactureroran authorised serviceagent.

3Controls
The operating controlsforall modelsarelocated on
the handle(Fig. ).
1-Switch trigger, left hand
Used toswitchmotorONand OFF. Can onlybe
operated withhandleinworking position, and ifleft
hand interlock button (2)haspreviouslybeen
depressed
2-Interlock button, left hand
Thismust be depressed initiallytoenableleft hand
switchtriggertoswitchmotoron.
3-Switch trigger, righthand
Used toswitchmotorONand OFF. Can onlybe
operated withhandleinworking position, and if
right hand interlock button (4)haspreviouslybeen
depressed.
4-Interlock button, righthand
Thismust be depressed initiallytoenableright
hand switchtriggertoswitchmotoron.
5-Handleadjustmentlever
Used toadjust handletocomfortableworking
height. Note: Forsafetyreasonsthe machine
cannot be operated unless the handleismoved to
aworking height.
Cablewinder
Used toholdsupplycordinplaceon handlewhen
machine isnot inuse.
Neon indicator (on handle)
Lightswhen the machine isconnected tothe power
supply.
3.1Fitting pads
WARNING -Thisappliance has been designed for
use with thepadsspecified bythemanufacturer.
Thefitting ofother padsmay affectits
performance and safety.
Alwaysensuremachine isunplugged beforefitting or
removing parts.
•Raisecleaning head bypulling handlebackwards
torest on the floor.
•Unscrewcentralpad lock and removewithwasher.
•Press cleaning pad ontodrivedisc, refit washer
and pad lock and tighten (Fig. ).
•Returnmachine toupright position.
•IMPORTANT-Never allow thecleaning head to
reston thepad when notin use.
3.2Adjusting thehandleheight
Select the most comfortablehandleheight using the
adjustment leveraspreviouslydescribed (see
Controls)and lock inposition.
4Operation
4.1Starting themachine
•Fullyunwind the supplycordfromthe handleand
plug intoaconvenient socket out let. The neon
indicatoron the handleshouldlight showing that
powerisavailable.
•Withthe handleset at aconvenient working height
and withbothleft and right handson the handle,
depress bothinterlock buttonswiththe thumbsand
squeezebothswitchtriggerstostart the machine
(Fig. ).
•WARNING -Never startthemachinewithout
padsfitted.
•Oncethe machine hasstarted the pushbuttons
shouldbe released. The machine will operatewith
eitherorbothofthe switchtriggersheld.
•Tostop the machine releasebothswitchtriggers.
•Normalmovement ofthe machine isina forward
and backward direction.
4.2Polishing
•Fit padssuitableforthe speed ofthe machine and
the surfacetobe polished (see Accessories).
•Applypolishtothe floorinaccordancewiththe
manufacturersinstructions.
•Do notkeep themachinerotating on onespot
formore than 5-10 seconds, as thiscould
cause overheating and damagethefloor
surface.
4.3Thevacuumunit
NOTE- The vacuumunit issupplied asan accessory
itemcompletewithattachmentsand fitting
instructions. Twoversionsareavailablewitheither
standardfiltration orHEPA filtration.
The vacuumunit combined withthe vacuumskirt
providesfull dust control, eliminating the need topost
dust the floor. The unit isdesigned tofit readilytoall
models.
IMPORTANT-ThevacuumunitisNOTsuitablefor
anyform ofwetcleaning.

4.4Fitting thevacuumunit
•Stand the machine upright, and fit the vacuumunit
support bracket and top support platetothe handle
tube inthe specified position. (Refertoinstructions
supplied withthe unit).
•Takethe vacuumunit and insert the twopegson
the back intothe slotsinthe support plateat the
sametimeengaging the bottomofthe unit withthe
grooveinthe support bracket.
•Fasten the flexiblestrap on the back ofthe unit onto
the stud provided.
•Pushthe lengthofflexiblehoseontothe vacuum
unit and connect tothe vacuumskirt.
•Plug the electricallead fromthe vacuumunit into
the socket situated on the left side ofthe handle
moulding. The machine isnowreadyforuse.
4.5Using thevacuumunit
The switchcontrolling the vacuumunit islocated on the
back ofthe unit. The OFF position ismarked O.
IMPORTANT-Formaximumsuction thesliding
shutter on thetop oftheunitmustbeclosed.
Dust collected bythe unit iscontained withinthe dust
bag located behind the front cover. A‘bag full’
indicatorlight glowswhen the dust bag needs
replacing. Toreplaceadust bag, switchoff vacuum
unit, releasefront covercatchand lift off cover.
Removeand disposeofused bag. Fit newbag and
replacefront cover.
Avacuuminlet filterissituated belowthe dust bag to
protect the vacuummotorfromspilled dust. Inspect
the filterregularlywhen changing bagsand clean as
necessary. Toclean, withdrawthe filterfromthe unit
and washinwarmwaterand dry thoroughly.
IMPORTANT-Thefilter mustbecompletelydry
before replacing itin themachine. Never operate
themachinewithouttheinletfilter.
Inordertoreplacea HEPA filterthe vacuumunit
must be removed fromthe handleofthe machine.
Releasecatchon the filtercover, unclipfilter
cartridge and discard. Fit newfilterand refit cover.
Refit vacuumunit ontohandle. IMPORTANT-The
HEPAfilter should bereplaced after amaximum
ofthree dustbag changes.
5Storage
Alwaysunplug and wipe downand dry the machine
afteruse. The machine shouldnormallybe stored
withthe handleinthe fullyupright position.
Wrap supplycordaround the handlebarand cable
winderensuring that the plug isnot trailing on the
floor. Storethe machine inadry indoorarea only.
Neverstorethe machine withapad fitted asthis
causesdistortion, and resultsininstabilityduring
operation.
6Maintenance
WARNING -Before undertaking maintenance
operationsoradjustmentsswitch off machine
and unplug fromtheelectricitysupply.
The machine requiresminimummaintenanceapart from
the following checksbyatrained operator.
•Supplycord -Regularlyinspect sheath, plug and
cordanchorage fordamage orlooseconnection.
Onlyreplacethe supplycordwiththe type specified
intheseinstructions.
•Vacuumunit -All dust bagsmust be changed
regularly, and hosechecked forblockage toavoid
unsatisfactory results.
7Aftersales service
Shouldyou requireaftersalesservicepleasecontact
the supplierfromwhomyou purchased the
machine,who will arrange service. Repairsand
servicing ofTruvoxproductsshouldonlybe
performed bytrained staff. Improperrepairscan
causeconsiderabledangerstothe user.
Enquireabout the Truvoxlowcost and efficient
MaintenanceContract.
8Guarantee
Yourproduct isguaranteed fortwoyearsfromthe
dateoforiginalpurchase, orhirepurchase, against
defectsinmaterialsorworkmanshipduring
manufacture. Withinthe guarantee period we
undertakeat ourdiscretion, torepairorreplacefree of
charge tothe purchaser, anypart found tobe
defective, subject tothe following conditions.
CONDITIONS
1. Claimsmade underthe termsofthe guarantee
must be supported bythe originalinvoice/bill ofsale
issued at the timeofsale, orthe machine SerialNo.
2. Forclaimsunderthisguarantee contact the
supplierfromwhomyou purchased the product who
will arrange the appropriateaction. Do not initially
returnthe product asthiscouldresult intransit
damage.
3. NeitherTruvoxnoritsdistibutorshall be liablefor
anyincidentalorconsequentialloss.
4. Thisguarantee isgoverned bythe lawsofEngland.
5. Thisguarantee doesnot coveranyofthe following:
-Periodicmaintenance, and repairorreplacement
ofpartsdue tonormalwearand tear.
-Damage caused byaccident, misuseorneglect,
orthe fitting ofotherthan genuine Truvoxparts.
-Defectsinotherthan genuine Truvoxparts, or
repairs, modificationsoradjustmentsperformed
byotherthan aTruvoxserviceengineeror
authorised serviceagent.
-Costsand risksoftransport relating directlyor
indirectlytothe guarantee ofthisproduct.
-Consumableitemssuchas, brushes, drivediscs,
filtersand vacuumskirts.
Thisguarantee doesnot affect yourstatutory rights,
noryourrightsagainst the supplierarising fromtheir
salesorpurchasecontract.
