PUMP REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE
Thank you for purchasing a TSI DustTrak™
Model 8530EP/8533EP dust monitor. This guide will help
you quickly replace the Thomas Rotary Vane Pump
Model #BL-G 085 M in the DustTrak External Pump
Module that comes with the DustTrak Model
8530EP/8533EP.
More detailed information is in the user manual provided
with the instrument in the carry case. Please refer to the
manual if you have questions on the operation of your dust
monitor.
Setup Instructions
The DustTrak External Pump Module has a user-
replaceable long-life rotary vane pump. To replace the
pump in the External Pump Module, carefully follow the
detailed procedures in this document. The following parts
come with the pump replacement kit:

Disassembly
1. Observe ESD
precautions.
2. Fully loosen four (4)
screws on module
cover. Screws do not
need to be removed
from cover. Set cover
aside.
3. Disconnect tubing
from ports on pump.

4. Lift filters out of way
and disconnect cable
from PC board.
(Remove and replace
filters if needed.)
5. Remove four (4)
screws that attach
pump to box. Set
screws aside.
6. Remove pump
assembly from case.
7. Disconnect ribbon
cable from PC board.
8. Remove two (2)
screws from pump
bracket to remove
pump from bracket.
Set screws, bracket
with PC board
attached aside.
9. Remove four (4) hex
standoffs from pump.
Set standoffs aside.
Reassembly
1. Observe ESD
precautions.
2. Install four (4) hex
standoffs on new
pump.
3. Install two (2) screws
to attach pump to
bracket.
4. Connect ribbon cable
to PC board.
5. Place pump
assembly in case.
6. Connect cable to PC
board.
7. Install four (4) screws
to secure pump.
8. Connect filter tubing
to pump.
9. Install cover.
NOTE
The external pump is completely powered by the DustTrak
monitor. Do NOT attempt to power the pump module using
an external power source.
