Rugged Racers 2™
Using Your Rugged Racers
¥ Your Rugged Racers have been designed so that they can all operate simultaneously.
They use four separate channels on 2.4G frequency. If you have more than 4 x
Rugged Racers, you will have to use them in separate rooms because all similar
colours operate on the same channel.
¥ To switch the Rugged Racers on, move the slide switch under the cars to the ON
position.
¥ To switch the Remote Control on, move the slide switch on the reverse side to the ON
position.
¥ Press the top left button on the Remote Control to move the Rugged Racers of the
same colour forwards.
¥ Press the lower left button on the Remote Control to move the Rugged Racers of the
same colour backwards.
¥ Press the right button on the Remote Control to move the Rugged Racer of the same
colour right.
¥ Press the left button on the Remote Control to move the Rugged Racer of the same
colour left.
¥ The colour of the Remote Control must match the colour of the Rugged Racer for it to
work.
¥ If the Rugged Racers do not move forwards in a straight line, adjust the straight line
adjuster.
¥ When the batteries are low, the Rugged Racers will operate intermittently. Place them
into the docking station to charge the batteries.

LED Status
Your Rugged Racers and Remote Controllers have lights and LEDs that give the
user information about charging and product usage.
Car
¥ Front lights on - power is on
¥ Back lights on - power is on and car is reversing
¥ Back lights on when docked - car is charging
Remote
¥ Green LED on - signal being sent to car
¥ Green LED on when docked - Remote is fully charged
¥ Red LED on when docked - Remote is charging
Recharging your Rugged Racers & Remotes
¥ Insert the Battery Charger cable into the charging socket underneath the docking
station.
¥ Plug the Battery Charger into a wall socket.
¥ Place the Rugged Racers and Remote Controllers into the docking station.
¥ The LEDs on the car will light red when there is less than 30% battery life.
¥ The LEDs on the car will light red + yellow when there is 30-70% battery life.
¥ All LEDs will light on the car when there is 70-100% battery life.
¥ Whilst charging the LEDs on rear will light up from bottom to top.
¥ When fully charged all LEDs will light up.
¥ The LEDs on the controllers will flash red when they need charging.
¥ The LEDs on the controllers will light red when charging.
¥ The LEDs on the controllers will light green when fully charged.
¥ It may take 3-4 hours to fully charge.

Important Information
Battery Precautions
Rugged Racers and Remote Controls are powered by Lithium batteries which are not
user replaceable.
Care & Maintenance
¥ If necessary, wipe the Rugged Racers gently with a clean damp cloth.
¥ Keep the Rugged Racers away from direct sunlight and heat.
¥ Do not allow the Rugged Racers to come into contact with water or other liquids.
¥ Please retain the information in this User Guide for future reference.
¥ In the event of an electrostatic discharge, your Rugged Racer may malfunction. In this
case, please switch it off and then back on again to reset it.

International Charging Adaptor
The Rugged Racers are supplied with a multi-region adaptor. The adaptor is supplied
with the UK plug fitted but you can change this easily to suit any country.
Press the release button behind the plug head and slide the UK plug out and replace
with the required plug module. Slide the plug module in until it 'clicks' in place securely.
The battery charger to be used with the product should be regularly examined for
potential hazards such as damage to the cable, cord, plug, enclosure or other parts.
In the event of any damage, the adaptor must not be used until the damage has been
properly repaired.
The toy is not intended for children under 3 years old.
WARNING: Do not dispose of this product in household waste. Hand it over to a
collection point for recycling electronic appliances.

Warranty & Support
This product is provided with a one year warranty for problems found during normal
usage. Mistreating the Rugged Racers or opening the unit will invalidate this warranty.
Any data stored on the unit and any consequential loss is not covered by this warranty.
The battery is not user replaceable.
