Tubbutec OrganDonor
Installation manual for Moog Opus 3
Tools you will need:
•Soldering iron
•Wire stripper
•Metal drill 3.5mm (or similar)
•Metal drill for a 15mm ole (stepping drill for example)
•Center punc
•Screw driver
Included in t e kit:
•OrganDonor Main Board
•4x OrganDonor Switc Board (1 single), 2x16pin Connector,
1x20 pin connector, 1x 2pin connector
•Analog switc connection: 1x16 – 20cm, 1x16p – 30cm, 1x20p –
30cm, 1x2 - 30cm
•Interconnect cables: 1x 90cm, 1x 20cm, 2x 25cm
•Midi connector assembly
•Power connector assembly
•Learn button
•4 plastic standoffs + M3x16 bolts
•10mm brass standoff, M3 plastic was er, M3x8 bolt, M3 nut
•Midi socket drill guide
•2x M3 bolt, 2xM3 nut for midi socket

Principle of operation
OrganDonor uses analog switc es to simulate keyboard presses directly.
Normally t is would require to solder two wires for eac key. Luckily t is
can often be avoided by grouping common signals. OrganDonor features
solder jumpers to connect common signals on t e back of eac analog
switc board.
In t e case of t e Moog Opus 3 t ere is one common signal.
Switch board installation and soldering the key
contacts
To mount t e switc boards you need to remove 4 screws of t e
keyframes at t e spots s own. T en you need to attac t e provided
plastic spacers like s own ere:
T en use t e provided M3x16 screws to attac t e switc boards to t e
keyframe.
Switc boards 1 + 2 get mounted in t is direction:

Switc board 3 and t e single switc board get mounted like t is:
Plug in t e interconnection cables.
Please note: t is is a tig t fit under t e keyboard, especially switc
board 3 and t e single switc board can be in t e way of t e c orus
board. Please be careful w en reassembling t e keyboard and adjust t e
position of t e switc boards if necessary.
Next you need to solder t e common connection wire (marked yellow in
t e picture) and t e key contact wires (marked green in t e picture):
Start wit t e common connection (wire 1 of switc board 1, wires 2,
19,20 get cut) and t en key contact after key contact, starting wit wire
3 of switc board 1.

Installing the main board and power connection
Mount t e main board as s own in t e picture on t e c orus board.
To do t at you need t e M3x8 bolt, t e plastic was er, t e 10mm
standoff and t e M3 nut.
Put t e plastic was er on t e bolt, insert in t e ole on t e c orus board
from t e bottom side, attac t e 10mm standoff and tig ten so t at it
doesn’t move anymore. T en attac t e mainboard and secure it wit
t e M3 nut.
Next you need to solder t e power connection, see picture.

You need to solder t e red wire (+15V) to t e binding post marked wit
a red circle, and bot t e black and yellow wires (GND) to t e binding
post marked wit a yellow circle on t e c orus board
Installing the midi socket
T e midi socket can be installed on t e back of t e mac ine.
Use t e provided drill guide to center punc t e locations of t e 3 oles.
T e two small oles need to be about 3.2mmm to 3.5mm in diameter,
t e large ole 15mm. Here we typically use a stepping drill or a screw
ole-punc .
Install t e MIDI socket using t e 2 M3x8mm screws and t e 2 M3 nuts.
Installing the optional learn button
T e optional learn button can be used to set midi c annel. It needs to be
connected to t e IO “2” and “G” pin on t e main board. (T e back of t e
main board as labels on it). Wires are not included in t e kit.
Press t e learn button and w ile it is pressed send a midi note on any
midi c annel. organDonor will use t is midi c annel from now. T ese
settings are saved.

Configuration
You need to flas t e corresponding configuration file to OrganDonor
using our configuration tool.
T e configuration tool can also be used to experiment wit settings and
key assignments.

T is is a browser application, it works wit C rome and Safari rig t
away, Firefox needs to be configured for web MIDI.
T e configurator allows you to upload your settings directly from your
browser to Organ Donor, safe and load settings and export settings as
SysEx files for uploading to Organ Donor via anot er SysEx tool.
