ID-Lock Smart Overview
Advantages
T e main advantages wit ID-Lock Smart are:
• Greater safety and security in everyday life
• Greater sense of control over residents own accommodation
• A stress factor less for t e staff, especially during t e nig t
• Battery operation allows for cost-effective installation
• Possible for staff to open wit remote transmitters, mobile p ones or p ysical keys
• Possible to log all events
What is ID-Lock Smart?
ID-Lock Smart is a lock system t at prevents unwanted access to rooms in a nursing ome or
similar indoor environments. It is not designed for ig security applications, suc as
external doors to a resident ome or office.
You can always open doors in an ID-Lock Smart installation from t e inside by just pulling
t e door andle wit out any key or transmitter, w ile t e outside andle only works w en
t e door is unlocked. Many otel rooms use t is same functionality.
T e residents only need to wear a small pendant transmitter in order to unlock t e doors
t ey ave access to, wit out any manual interaction.
T e staff can unlock all doors t ey ave access to wit a special staff transmitter or mobile
p one, or wit a regular (p ysical) key.
T e ID-Lock Smart system consists of a position transmitter (IDT), a control box (TM2) and
an electronic lock mounted over t e door’s andle.
T e electric lock as a sleek design. It is mounted on t e inside of t e resident’s door,
wit out affecting eit er t e door or t e lock-case.
Because t e electrical lock is completely battery-powered, no expensive electrical
installations are required in t e door itself. T e only electrical requirement is t e availability
of a 12V or 24V DC source close to t e door to power t e IDT and t e TM2-box.

ow does ID-Lock Smart work?
T e IDT, w ic is mounted next to eac door, is transmitting an RF signal wit a zone-ID t at
is unique to eac door. T e signal as a range of approx. 1 to 1.5 meters. T e IDT RF signal is
marked in red in t e illustration below.
W en a resident’s Tx75 transmitter detects t e IDT signal, it will automatically transmit its
own ID, toget er wit t e detected zone-ID from t e IDT, to t e TM2-box. T e Tx75
transmitter as an ID t at is unique for eac transmitter on a site.
T e staff Tx75 transmitters work t e same way, except t ey do not automatically transmit
anyt ing; you must pus t e transmitter’s button to trigger t e transmission.
T e Tx75 signals are marked in green in t e illustration below.
T e TM2-box is configured to accept certain Tx75 IDs and a certain IDT zone-ID. W en an
accepted combination is received, it will send a Bluetoot signal to t e lock w ic will
engage t e door’s outer andle, and t e door can be opened by pulling t e andle. T e
Bluetoot signal is marked in blue in t e illustration below.

Installation of ID-Lock Smart
Package contents with part numbers
T is is w at a complete ID-Lock Smart package s ould contain, including part numbers for
individual sub-kits:
Split mechanics (036-01-835 or 036-01-836)
See exploded view on t e next page for more
details.
T ere are two versions of t is kit wit different
part numbers for different door t icknesses.
Part number for t e complete kit is:
• 036-01-835 for 40 mm doors
• 036-01-836 for 60 mm doors
T e Main Spindle, t e Steel wires and t e
screws are t e only parts t at differs depending
on door t ickness.
andles (346 60 04-95) & cover plate (346 60 04-96)
Most existing andles do not ave a strong enoug
return spring, w ic is w y you s ould always use t e
andles from t is kit.
Carelock ACE Split (036-01-902)
T is is t e motor part, w ic is like a Carelock ACE but
wit different software configuration.
TM2-box (046-01-803)
T is is t e box t at listens to Tx75 transmitters and
controls t e Carelock ACE Split. It can also be triggered
from a wired signal. Requires 10-30 V DC, 350 mA.
IDT (K2415)
T is is t e position transmitter t at gives a unique zone-
ID to any Tx75 transmitter t at is wit in range (1 to 1.5
meters). Requires 10 – 28 V DC, 1 A.

Tools needed for installation
T ese are t ings you will need w en you install ID-Lock Smart. In addition to t is, you may
need a large cutter or acksaw to cut t e screws. You will also need wires and a power
supply for t e TM2-box and IDT, some means of fastening t e TM2-box (see below for an
example) and finally t e ID-Lock Config app for Android.
Screwdriver PH2
Screwdriver T25
Circlip plier
Lit ium grease
Installation of the TM2-box
T is is one example ow you may mount t e TM2-box. Ot er examples are to mount it
inside a plastic box or ide it above t e ceiling.
Make a simple mounting plate by using a metal- or plastic plate t at you drill oles in and
attac to t e TM2 box wit 7 mm wide screws made for plastic as illustrated ere.
T e TM2 box s ould ideally be placed close to t e Carelock ACE lock, especially if it will be
controlled by a Bluetoot device suc as a p one or a Bluetoot remote control transmitter,
since t e user is likely to old t eir device close to t e lock t ey are trying to open.
If t e TM2 box is only going to be controlled by Tx75 transmitters, it can be placed
anyw ere wit in Bluetoot range from t e Carelock ACE lock, w ic is typically 10 meters of
free line of sig t.

ID-Lock Smart Installation guide - Ver. 1.3
8
Carelock ACE Split as t e optional feature t at it will unlock t e door 10 seconds after it
loses its Bluetoot connection to t e TM2-box. T e idea be ind t is feature, w ic is
enabled by default, is to function as a security measurement in case of fire; you connect t e
TM2-box’s power supply to a power source t at will be cut off by t e fire alarm.
If you install t e TM2-box t is way, t e lock will unlock t e door 10 seconds after t e fire
alarm as cut off t e power to t e TM2-box (because t e Bluetoot connection will t en be
lost).
Installation of the IDT
T e IDT s ould be mounted next to t e door, preferably close to t e lock. If t ere are
several doors next to eac ot er in, e.g., a corridor, t en it is important t at all IDTs are
mounted on t e same side of t eir respective door. Two IDTs must never be closer t an 1
meter from eac ot er.
It may be necessary to adjust t e output power of t e IDT so t at t ey don’t overlap eac
ot er too muc . Inside t e IDT t ere is a potentiometer t at can be used for adjusting t e
output power; clockwise turn will increase t e power.
T e radiation from an IDT is close to equal in all directions, and it is not possible to s ield it
in one direction because t e frequency is so low (approx. 17 kHz). T is means t at t e IDT
field will radiate as muc inside of t e apartment as outside, causing t e ID-lock to trigger
t e lock also w en a resident is moving around inside t e apartment close to t e door. T is
is anot er reason w y you s ould lower t e output power as muc as possible, w ile
making sure t e system still works as intended.

wit out letting go of t e cogw eel, release t e pressure of t e outer wire sleeve and t en
let go of t e cogw eel. Now t e outer wire sleeve s ould stay retracted, allowing you access
to t e t readed part of t e main spindle.

Step 17
Screw on t e outer spindle until it comes to a stop, t en unscrew it between 180 to 270
degrees (½ to ¾ of a turn), and make sure it is aligned wit t e main spindle (t e outer wire
sleeve s ould be able to slide over t e outer spindle).
Step 18
Now release t e outer wire sleeve by rotating t e cogw eel counter-clockwise. T is ensures
t at t e outer spindle stays in place w en you mount t e andles.
