2. Unpacking the UbiHub
2.1 Open the top of the packaging as
indicated on the outside of the box.
Do not remove the UbiHub from
the box at this time.
2.2 Ensure that all items listed in the
package contents (ref 1.3) are
included in the box. If any item is
missing, e-mail
[email protected] or call
1.954.678.6191 (Monday through
Friday 9am to 5pm EST).
2.3 Remove the mounting clamp
from foam insert and unwrap the
protectivelm.
2.4 Remove the UbiHub from the
plastic and replace in the box on
the protective foam as shown.
Ensure the mounting rails are
facing upwards.
3. Preinstall Clamp
3.1 The mounting clamp mounts to a
2” IPS pole with optional inserts
to accommodate for a 1.5” IPS
or 1.25” IPS pole. The mounting
clamp can also be positioned
6”-10.5” (153.5 - 268.6 mm)
front to back from the bottom
male NEMA plug, and can also
be adjusted from 1 7/8”-3 7/8”
(49-99mm) up and down from the
mounting surface.
3.2 OPTIONAL: Measure the distance
from the top of the NEMA socket to
the closest center point on the pole
that will allow for the UbiHub to be
seated level to the luminaire.
NOTE: Record position horizontal
and vertical dimensions on UbiHub
and clamp for later use in multiple
installations of the same luminaire
type.

3.3 Use a 3/16” Hex bit to unscrew
and remove the clamp adjustment
cover from the mounting clamp.
APAI: Discard cover
AP6: Set cover aside
to be used later.
3.4 Align the shuttles on the top of the
clamp with the rail openings on the
bottom of the UbiHub housing while
still in the box. There is a single
orientation for assembly.
3.5 Slide the clamp along the housing
rails and hand-tighten into position
for now.
NOTE: If clamp placement was
premeasured, or if installing
multiple units on the same
luminaire type, set the clamp
position using the reference
dimensions on both the housing
and clamp, then tighten all
adjustment bolts to 40 in-lbs
torque.

3.6 Use a 1/2” deep drive socket to
loosen the swivel locking nut and
rotate to open the clamp.

3.7 If the luminaire pole arm is
thinner than 2” IPS, install the
appropriate clamp insert pair to
adjust the clamp size. The clamp
insertscanbeusedtoteither
a 1.5” IPS (Darker Set) or 1.25”
IPS (Lighter Set).
3.8 Once the appropriate insert pair is
selected, pull the red tab to remove
theprotectivelmfromtheinserts,
exposing the adhesive.

4.1 Attach the provided grounding cable
to the UbiHub housing using the
grounding screw with a standard
screwdriver or 5/16” socket.
4. Preinstall Grounding Cable
NOTE: Installer can use the provided
grounding cable or their own
grounding cable, strap, or other pre-
installed method.

5. Mounting the Unit
5.1 AP6: Gently lift the UbiHub from
theshippingbox.Theniptheunit
over so the clamp is facing down.
Make sure clamp is open with
the swivel locking nut up out of
the way before installing on the
luminaire.
APAI: The dual-camera is shipped
pre-installed to the UbiHub unit
via a cable. Gently lift the unit from
the shipping box ensuring the
dual-camera is removed as well.
Then,iptheUbihuboversothe
clamp is facing down and place the
attached dual-camera on top.
3.9 Both the mounting clamp and
inserts are marked with a 1 and 2.
Match the 1 insert with the 1 clamp
piece and the 2 insert with the 2
clamppiece.Alignandrmlypress
the inserts into place to ensure the
inserts fully adhere.
CAUTION: Be careful not to
swing, slam, or knock the
camera during installation. The
camera should be placed atop
the unit during install, whenever
possible.
NOTE: The camera is shipped
wrapped in protective packaging.
Do not remove the protective
packaging until instructed to.

6. Prep for Installation
6.1 Verify the NEMA socket on the
luminaire is oriented in the correct
direction. The North indication on
the NEMA (N >) should face away
from the pole of the luminaire.
NOTE: If your luminaire has a
photocell installed, remove it.
WARNING:
Ubicquia requires the
attachment of a safety tether
between the UbiHub and lift
bucket to prevent accidental
drops. ALWAYS wear any PPE
required by your organization,
such as a helmet and gloves,
during installation.
6.2 Follow the instructions below that
match the type of NEMA socket
on the luminaire to adjust the
orientation:
A. Use a screwdriver to remove
the two screws. Once removed, lift
and turn the NEMA socket until the
(N>) is positioned correctly (pointed
away from the luminaire pole).
Replace the two screws to secure
the socket is in position.
B. Loosen but do not fully remove
the two side screws. Then use a
standard screwdriver to rotate the
inner portion of the NEMA socket
so that the (N>) is positioned
correctly (pointed away from the
luminaire pole). When oriented,
tighten the two side screws.
NOTE:CREExtures/NEMAwill
need to be locked in
6.3 Line up the bottom male NEMA
plug on the UbiHub with the NEMA
socket on the luminaire and plug
in the unit. The UbiHub should be
slightlyo-angleoftheluminaireby
15 degrees once inserted.
5.2 Attach a safety tether between the
UbiHub and the lift bucket using
the bottom tether point on the unit.
NOTE: The UbiHub works with 3, 5,
and 7 pin NEMA options.
If your NEMA socket orientation
does not match the image, then
you will need to adjust the NEMA
to match.

6.4 Once fully inserted into the socket,
rotate the UbiHub toward the
pole to lock the NEMA connecter
in place. Stop once the clamp is
aligned with the pole.
6.5 Close the clamp around the
pole by rotating the clamp latch
upward and securing with the
swivel locking nut. Use the 1/2”
deep drive socket to tighten the
locking nut to 40 in-lbs torque.
NOTE: Make sure the NEMA plug
and NEMA socket remain parallel
during installation.
6.6 Adjust the clamp vertically so
that the device is parallel with the
bottom of the luminaire to ensure
there is no undue stress or strain
on the NEMA socket.
6.7 Once unit is parallel with the
luminaire, tighten the vertical
adjustment screws to 40 in-lbs
torque using the 3/16” Hex bit.
6.8 Tighten the horizontal adjustment
screws to 40 in-lbs torque using
the 3/16” Hex bit.

6.9 Once all the mounting clamp
screws are tightened, remove the
tether from the unit.
6.10 APAI: Remove all the protective
packaging material from the dual-
camera.
Install the dual-camera over
the mounting clamp vertical
adjustment screws by tabbing
in the bottom hook and rotating
inward. Once in place ensure that
the camera cable is not crimped
or pinched.
AP6: Reinstall the clamp
adjustment cover set aside in
step 3.3 over the mounting clamp
vertical adjustment screws by
tabbing in the bottom hook and
rotating inward.
WARNING: Be sure to remove
theredprotectivelmfrom
the dual-camera lenses. The
dual-camera will not operate
otherwise.
6.11 Tighten the top screw of the
dual-camera or clamp adjustment
cover to 15 in-lbs torque using the
3/16” Hex bit.

STOP!EnsureUbiHubismounted,grounded,andsecuredrmlyinplace
before moving on.
CAUTION: The unit must
be grounded in accordance
with the local codes or
regulationsdenedbythelocal
inspector. The surface where
the grounding clamp will be
installed must be prepared to
ensure metal to metal contact.
8.1 The UbiHub supports multiple
backhaul options. Determine which
backhaul option is applicable to
this installation.
8. Backhaul Options
A. Fiber backhaul
B. Ethernet backhaul
8.2 Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver,
loosen the two screws to open
the UbiHub rear access door.

CAUTION: Be sure to follow
all applicable safety guidelines
when handling SFP modules.
7.1 The installer will need to select
which grounding option to use
based on local regulations and
guidelines, as well as selecting the
correct grounding clamp based on
arm type, diameter, etc.
7. Grounding Cable Installation
8.3 Follow the instructions below to
connect your backhaul cable to the
UbiHub:
A. FIBER BACKHAUL
A.1 Ensure the SFP module is
clean. If applicable always clean
the optical connectors with
the cleaning cassette before
installation. Only clean the SFP
module if needed.
CAUTION: DO NOT touch
or blow into the optical cable
connectors or SFP module.
NOTE: Steps may vary depending
on what type of SFP module you
are using.

A.2Ifapplicable,removetheber
protectionfromthebersinthe
optical cable and plug into the
SFP module.
B. ETHERNET BACKHAUL
B.1 Insert the Ethernet cable into
the Ethernet port designated on the
Ubihub back panel.
A.3 Insert the SFP module into
the SFP port designated on the
UbiHub back panel.
A.4 Remove the gasket plug and
seat the optical cable into the
appropriate gasket opening.
B.2 Remove the gasket plug
and seat the Ethernet cable
into the appropriate gasket
opening.
8.4 If connecting an IoT accessory
continue to section 9. Otherwise
close the UbiHub rear access
door and secure by
tightening the two
screws using a #2
Phillips screwdriver.
