The VALO Cordless LED curing light emits high intensity light waves and must only be used as
indicated in this manual.

IndicationsforUse: Thesourceofilluminationforcuringphoto-activateddentalrestorativematerialsandadhesives.
TheVALOCordlesscuringlightusesacustom,multi-wavelength(395-480nm)LightEmittingDiode(LED)forproducingthehigh
intensity light capable of polymerizing all light cure dental materials. This intensity will also penetrate porcelain and is capable of curing
underlyingresincementssimilartoaqualityhalogenlight.

Instructions for Use:
1-Removeallcomponentsfromthepackagingandexaminethem.Ifanythingappearstobedamaged,returntothemanufacturer.
2-Chargebatteriesbeforeusingthedevice(SeesectionChargingandChangingBatteries).
3-Inserttwofullychargedbatteriespositive(+)endrst.
4-Replacethebatterycover.
5-TheVALOCordlesshandpiecewillbeepwhenpoweringon.
6-Selectthedesiredmode(seesectionQuickModeGuide).
7-Presspowerbuttontoactivatethelight.
NOTE: TheVALOCordlesscuringlightisprogrammedtocyclefromtheStandardPowertotheHighPowertotheXtraPowermodeinsequence.Forexample,to
changefromtheStandardPowermodetotheXtraPowermode,itisnecessarytocycleintotheHighPowermodeandthentotheXtraPowermode.
TheVALOCordlesscuringlightstoresthemostrecentlyusedtiminginterval,andmode,anditwilldefaultbacktothiswheneverthe
modes are changed or if the batteries are removed.
SLEEP MODE: TheVALOCordlesscuringlightwillgointoSleepModeafter60secondsofinactivity,asindicatedbyaslowashingof
themode/statuslight.Pickinguportouchingtheunitwillwake-upVALOCordlessandautomaticallyreturnittothelastsettingused.
WARNING: StorageandTravel:IfstoringtheVALOCordlessforperiodslongerthan2weeks,orpackingitfortravel,alwaysremovethe
batteries.Ifbatteriesareleftintheunitforlongperiodsoftimewithoutrechargingtheymaybecomenonfunctionalorun-chargeable.
Charging and Changing Batteries
TheVALOCordlesscomeswith4rechargeablelithiumironPhosphatebatteries.
How to charge batteries
1.Plugchargerintoelectricaloutlet.
2.Insertbatteriesintochargerwith
positive(+)endpointedtowardsthe
indicator lights on charger.
3.GreenLighsindicatebatteriesare
ready for use.
4.Batterieswilltake1-3hours
to charge. Leave batteries in charger
until ready for use.
How to change/insert batteries
1.Removebackcapbytwistingcounterclockwise
onequarterturn.
2.Removebatteries.
3.Insertfreshbatteriespositive(+)siderst.
4.Reattachbackcapbyaligningandgentlypushing
whiletwistingclockwise.
Thecapwillclickwhenfullyattached.

LOW BATTERIES: TheVALOCordlesssignalstheuserthatitistimetochangethebatterieswhentheLowBatteryIndicatorLightis
ashingred.Ifthebatterychargebecomestoolow,anaudible3beepwarningsoundwilloccurandtheVALOwillnotallowfurther
operationuntilbatteriesarerechargedornewbatteriesareinserted.(SeeWarningLightGuide)
Charging Time and Battery Life: BatterylifeintheVALOCordlessisdependentontheMODE,TIMEinterval,batterytype,amountof
use,andLEDefciency.Ingeneral,rechargeblebatteriesshouldlast1-2weeks.
Non-rechargeablebatteriesmaylast2-3timeslonger.
• RecommendedRechargeInterval: Whenlowbatteryindicatorcomeson,orapproximatleyevery1–2weeks.
• ExtraBatteries: ValoCordlesscomeswith4rechargeablebatteries.Wealsoreccomendkeepingasparesetofnon-rechargeable
CR123ABatteriesonhandintheeventofaproblemorlossoftherechargeablebatteries.
• Battery Life Expectancy: RechargeableLithiumIronPhosphatebatteriescanberechargedapproximately1000to2000times.
Basedonnormaluse,batteriesshouldlastuptoveyears.
Note: IfyouaremovingthelightfromoperatorytooperatoryandthelightdoesnotgointoSleepModethenthebatterylifemaybe
affected.
Note:
•Makesurebatteriesareinsertedintothechargerpositive(+)endrst.
•Iftheredlightonthechargerdoesn’tturntogreen,whenthebatterieshavebeencharginglongerthan3hours,thismeansabattery
maybedegraded(corrupted)andcannotbecharged.TryanewbatteryorcallUltradentCustomerServicetoorderanewsetof
rechargeable batteries.
•Do not use batteries if the printed battery label is torn or removed from the battery. Replace with a new battery and recycle old battery.

Note:
• Usingthehygienicbarriersleevewillreducethelightoutputby5-10%.DuetothehighoutputpoweroftheVALOCordless,curinghas

Maintenance and Cleaning
TheVALOCordlesscuringlightisasealedunitwithasapphire-likehardsurfaceandascratchresistantglasslens.Aftereachuse,
moistenagauzeorsoftclothwithananti-microbialsurfacedisinfectantandwipethesurfaceandlens.
Periodicallycheckthelensforcureddentalresins.Ifnecessary,useanon-diamonddentalinstrumenttocarefullyremoveanyadhered
resin.
Thebarriersleevepreventscrosscontaminationandhelpskeepdentalcompositematerialfromadheringtothesurfaceofthelensand
wand body.
Lightmetersdiffergreatlyandaredesignedforspeciclightguidetipsandlenses.UltradentrecommendscheckingVALOCordlessin
StandardPowermode.NOTE:thetruenumericoutputwillbeskewedduetheinaccuracyofcommonlightmetersandthecustomLED
packVALOCordlessuses.

5. IfredWarningLEDashesandbeepscontinuously,callUltradentCustomerServicefor
repair.
Light does not stay on for desired time 1. CheckthattheunitissettodesiredMode.
2. ChecktheLowBatteryIndicatorforbatterychargestatus.
3. Checkthatfreshbatteriesareproperlyinsertedintotheunit.
Light is not curing resins properly 1. Checklensforresidualcuredresins/composites(see“MaintenanceandCleaning”).
2. UsingproperorangeUVeyeprotection,verifytheLEDdielightsareworking.
3. Checkpowerlevelwithlightmeter.
4. Checkexpirationdateoncuringresin.
Batterieswillnotcharge 1. Makesurebatteriesareinsertedintothechargerinthecorrectorientationandallow
batteriestochargefor1-3hours.
2. Ifredlightsonthechargerdonotchangetogreen,callUltradentCustomerServiceto
order replacement batteries and/or charger.
