Introduction
Thank you for choosing the uresta® bladder support for control or reduction of stress urinary
incontinence.These instructions will outline what you need to know about using this product,
including insertion and removal, and care of your uresta® bladder support.
uresta® may be used in different ways to suit your lifestyle. It can be inserted in the morning
and removed at bedtime everyday or used just for specific activities such as exercise and
removed after the activity. Remove uresta® before sexual intercourse and during menstruation.
How the uresta® bladder support works
uresta® is made from a thermoplastic elastomer, is not made with natural rubber latex, and has
been designed and tested for biocompatibility and use in the vagina.When properly inserted
into the vagina, uresta® provides additional support through the vaginal canal to reduce or
control involuntary urine loss due to stress urinary incontinence.
Indications for Use
The uresta® bladder support is indicated for use in adult women over 18 years of age who
experience stress urinary incontinence (involuntary urine loss, such as a spurt of urine that
occurs when you cough, laugh, sneeze, or with some physical tasks).
Contraindications – do not use this product:
• If you are under 18 years of age
• If you are pregnant
• During sexual intercourse or menstruation
• If you have had recent vaginal surgery
Do not use the product if you have any of the following:
• Abnormal vaginal bleeding or excessive vaginal discharge and/or foul odour associated with
discharge
• Vaginal soreness or itching
Precautions
• If you suffer from pre-existing conditions, including previous vaginal or related surgery,
atrophy, or prolapse, please consult a physician prior to using your uresta® bladder support.
• uresta® is not indicated for use in patients experiencing vaginal prolapse.
• Please refer to the Product Care Section of this Instruction for Use (IFU) for cleaning instruc-
tions of the product. Improper washing and care of the product may lead to a risk of infection.
• Replace your uresta® product as directed in the Product Care Section of this IFU. Failure to do
so may lead to improper fit, discomfort, or infection.
Do not use this product if:
• The tamperproof seal on the retail package is broken at time of purchase
• Inspection of the uresta® bladder support reveals cracks or other defects
Your uresta® is for personal use only. For health and safety reasons, do not share it with any
other person.
Warning
Stop using uresta® and consult a physician if any of the following occurs:
• Difficulty urinating
• Vaginal itching, pain or discomfort with the use of the product
• Unexpected vaginal bleeding
• Change in colour, consistency, odour, or amount of vaginal discharge
• Burning with urination and/or the need to urinate more often
Adverse Effects
Clinical studies of uresta® have not shown any significant complications when used in
accordance with the directions for use.
Erosion or fistula may develop if the uresta® bladder support is not removed and cleaned daily
as recommended.
Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is considered a serious and sometimes fatal disease caused by
toxin-producing strains of Staphylococcus aureus bacterium.TSS has been linked to high ab-
sorbency and prolonged use of tampons. Symptoms ofTSS often mimic the flu and can include
sudden high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting or a rash that looks like sunburn
during your period or a few days after. If you experience any of these symptoms while using the
product, remove and immediately contact a physician.
Insertion Steps
1. Remove the uresta® from the box and packaging material; note that the size of each bladder
support is identified by a number on one side of the handle.
2. Wash your hands with a mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
3. The use of a water-based lubricant designed for vaginal use (available at a local pharmacy)
is recommended to be used to assist with inserting the uresta® bladder support. It is usually
helpful to place one foot on a stool or toilet seat cover to prepare for insertion of the uresta®
bladder support.
4. If using the product for the first time, select the size 4 uresta® and grasp the handle with
one hand.With the other hand, place a small amount of lubricant on the tip of the tapered
end (see Figure 1).
5. Holding the uresta® in one hand, use the other hand to separate the labia (the opening or
outer lips) of the vagina and direct the tip of the tapered end into the vagina (see Figure 2).
6. Gently push the uresta® product into the vagina aiming towards the spine. (see Figure 3
and 4)
As the product enters the vagina the tapered end will help to open the vagina.You will feel
some pressure and resistance at the opening as you push the widest part of the uresta® in and
below the pubic bone, at which point the pressure and resistance will subside.

Indicaciones para el uso

Contraindicaciones: no use este producto:
• Si tiene menos de 18 años de edad
• Sí está embarazada

No use el producto si tiene alguno de los siguientes:
• Sangrado vaginal anormal o flujo vaginal excesivo y/o mal olor asociado con el flujo

Precauciones
• Si padece afecciones preexistentes, como sequedad vaginal, atrofia, o prolapso consulte
a un médico antes de utilizar su soporte para vejiga uresta®.
• uresta® no está indicado para pacientes con problemas de prolapso vaginal.
• Consulte la sección de Cuidado del producto de estas Instrucciones de uso para obtener
instrucciones de limpieza del producto. El lavado y el cuidado inadecuados del producto
pueden provocar un riesgo de infección.
• Reemplace su producto uresta® como se indica en la Sección de cuidado del producto de estas
Instrucciones de uso. El no hacerlo puede resultar en un ajuste inadecuado, incomodidad o
infección.
No use este producto si:
• El sello a prueba de manipulaciones en el paquete de venta al por menor está roto en el
momento de la compra
• La inspección del soporte para vejiga uresta® revela rajaduras u otros defectos

Advertencia
Deje de usar uresta® y consulte a un médico si ocurre cualquiera de los siguientes:

Efectos adversos
Los ensayos clínicos sobre uresta® no han indicado complicaciones considerables cuando se usa
de acuerdo con las instrucciones de uso.
Puede generarse erosión o pueden formarse fístulas si no se retira y se limpia el soporte vesical
uresta® a diario, que es lo recomendado.
El Síndrome de ShockTóxico (SST) se considera una enfermedad grave y en ocasiones mortal
causada por cepas productoras de toxina de la bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. El SST se ha
relacionado a la alta absorbencia y al uso prolongado de tampones. Los síntomas del SST a
menudo se asemejan a los de la gripe y pueden incluir fiebre alta repentina, vómitos, diarrea,
mareos, desmayos o un sarpullido que parece una quemadura de sol durante su período o unos
días después. Si experimenta alguno de estos síntomas mientras usa el producto, retírelo e
inmediatamente contacte a un médico.
Pasos para la inserción
1. Retire el uresta® de la caja y el material de embalaje; tenga en cuenta que el tamaño de cada
soporte para la vejiga está identificado por un número en un lado del mango.
2. Lávese las manos con un jabón suave y agua tibia. Enjuague bien.
3. Se recomienda el uso de un lubricante a base de agua diseñado para uso vaginal (disponible
en una farmacia local) para ayudar a insertar el soporte para vejiga uresta®. En general es
útil colocar un pie en un taburete o en la tapa del asiento del inodoro en preparación para la
inserción del soporte para la vejiga uresta®.
4. Si utiliza el producto por primera vez, seleccione el uresta® tamaño 4 y sujete el mango con
una mano. Con la otra mano, coloque una pequeña cantidad de lubricante en la punta del
extremo cónico (vea la Figura 1).
5. Sosteniendo el uresta® con una mano, use la otra mano para separar los labios (la abertura
o los labios externos) de la vagina y dirija la punta del extremo cónico dentro de la vagina
(vea la Figura 2).
6. Empuje suavemente el producto uresta® en la vagina apuntando hacia la columna vertebral.

Once inserted, the end of the handle should be approximately 2.0 cm or approximately ¾ of
an inch inside the opening to the vagina and you should be able to easily touch the end of the
handle and grip the handle for removal. You should not feel the uresta® when properly sized
and inserted.
Once inserted, check the following to see if it is the right size:
• It does not fall out when moving or walking (if it does, try the next larger size);
• You do not feel it (if there is pressure or discomfort, try the next smaller size);
• When you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise, your bladder does not leak (or leaking is
significantly reduced);
• You can urinate (empty your bladder) with your uresta® in place – the product should not stop
you from urinating or having a bowel movement when properly fitted.
Removal Steps
1. Wash your hands with a mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
2. Separate the labia (the opening or outer lips) of the vagina with one hand.With the other
hand, insert index finger to locate the handle of the uresta®.
3. Grasp the handle with your index finger and thumb, and pull the uresta® down and out of
the vagina.
If you experience any difficulty in reaching or removing the product, try:
• A few deep breaths to relax and release tension in the pelvic floor muscles;
• Give a small twist of the handle to“break the seal”;
• Bear down as if trying to have a bowel movement to help move the uresta® down to a
position where you can more easily grasp the handle.
Product Care
Always wash your hands with mild soap and warm water, rinsing thoroughly, before inserting
or removing uresta®.
You should remove uresta® daily to clean it.To clean:
1. Use warm water and a mild, non-perfumed soap to wash your uresta®. Rinse thoroughly
with water after washing;
2. Dry with a towel or cloth;
3. Place in bottom unit of uresta® case and leave the case open to air dry.
Replace your uresta® if a defect (e.g. a crack) develops and replace your uresta® once a year to
ensure continued proper fit, comfort, and safety.
Troubleshooting
If you have difficulty or you are experiencing discomfort inserting:
• Use a water based lubricant
• Take deep breaths to relax pelvic muscles
• Try inserting the next smaller size
• If problems persist, consult a physician
If the product does not control or significantly reduce your bladder leakage or will not stay
in place:
• Try one size larger
• If the product falls out only during bowel movements, remove it before a bowel movement, as
per instructions and replace it after, as per instructions
• If problems persist, consult a physician
If the product is uncomfortable or if you cannot empty your bladder:
• Try one size smaller
• If problems persist, consult physician
If you experience difficulty removing:
• Take deep breaths to relax pelvic muscles and gently bear down as if trying to have a bowel
movement
• If unable to remove, consult a physician within 24 hours
Una vez insertado, el extremo del mango debe estar aproximadamente 2.0 cm o

2. Separe los labios (la apertura o los labios externos) de la vagina con una mano. Con la otra
mano, inserte el dedo índice para ubicar el mango del uresta®.
3. Sujete el mango con el dedo índice y el pulgar, y tire del uresta® hacia abajo y fuera de la
vagina.
Cuidado del producto
Siempre lávese las manos con jabón suave y agua tibia, enjuagándose bien, antes de insertar
o retirar el uresta®.
Debe retirar el uresta® diariamente para limpiarlo. Para limpiar:
1. Use agua tibia y un jabón suave no perfumado para lavar su uresta®. Enjuague bien con agua
después del lavado;
2. Seque con una toalla o paño;
3. Colóquelo en la unidad inferior de la caja uresta® y deje la caja abierta para que se seque
al aire.
Reemplace su uresta® si desarrolla un defecto (por ejemplo, una rajadura) y reemplace su
uresta® una vez al año para garantizar un ajuste, comodidad y seguridad continua.
Solución de problemas
Si tiene problemas o está experimentando malestar al insertarlo:
• Use un lubricante a base de agua
• Respire profundamente para relajar los músculos pélvicos
• Intente insertar el siguiente tamaño más pequeño
• Si los problemas persisten, consulte a un médico
Si el producto no controla o no reduce significativamente la incontinencia urinaria o no
permanece en su lugar:
• Pruebe con un tamaño más grande
