Brief operating instructions
These brief operating instructions are intended to help you when using the Micro-
braun SLP. Reference should be made to the full operating instructions (available
in German/French/Italian)before puttinginto service for the first time, for opti-
mum use of the unit or when in doubt. Please note the information regarding
safety and use of microwaves.

Setting the time
When first putting into service or after a power failure.
APress key and set the hours with the adjusting
knob .
APress key again and set the minutes with the
adjusting knob .
Oven
Possible kinds of heating
(with preset, alterable oven temperatures)
Perform initially (if desired):
•Insert spit (for grilling).
•Fit food probe and set food probe temperature.
Switching oven on and off
ASelect desired type of heating with key (press
several times until symbol lights for desired kind of heat-
ing).
If the oven temperature is not changed within the setting
time, the oven switches on with the recommended tempera-
ture.
ASet the oven temperature with the adjusting knob
(if recommended temperature is not valid). If the
temperature indication and the signal lamp by the adjust-
ing knob have already stopped flashing, press key .
Fast heating up: Press key for 2 seconds.
ATo switch off press key .

Microwave
Solely microwave operation
Switching on
AClose unit door properly.
APress key .
–If microwave power (recommended 700 W) and microwave
switched-on period (2 minutes recommended) are not changed
within the setting time, the microwave switches on with the rec-
ommended values.
AChanging microwave power: press key and set microwave
power with adjusting knob .
AChanging microwave operating time: press key «microwave operating time»and set
operating time with adjusting knob .
Microwave operating time expired
Microwave operation is ended automatically, acoustic signal sounds.
ASwitch off acoustic signal: press key or open door of unit.
Ending operation prematurely
APress key .
Combined oven/microwave operation
Connect microwave with oven in operation
ASet type of heating and oven temperature for oven operation in the normal way.
APress key .
–250 W microwave power and 2 minutes operating time are
recommended.
AChange recommended values if necessary.
–The microwave starts after expiration of the set time.
–If the door of the unit is opened, the microwave is switched off,
but not the oven heating.
Microwave operating time expired
Microwave is switched off (acoustic signal is given), oven continues in operation.
Switching off microwave prematurely
APress key «microwave operating time»and reset duration to with adjusting
knob .

Press key «Oven operating time» and set required operating time with adjusting knob .
–Without further settings the oven would switch off automatically after expiration of the time
set.
Example: A time of
1 h 15 mins. is set at
9 a.m. The unit switches
off at 10:15.
Setting a (later) switch-off time
APress key .
–The switch-off time is then displayed instead of the current time-of-day.
AThen set the desired switch-off time with adjusting knob .
–The current time-of-day is displayed again after expiration of the setting time.
–The unit is switched off.
–The unit will switch on again automatically at the correct time and switch off when the switch-
off time is reached.
Example: The switch-off time is
delayed from 10:15 until 12:30.
The unit switches on at 11:15 and
off at 12:30.
After reaching the switch-off time
–The unit is switched off. Acoustic signal is given.
ASwitch off the acoustic signal: press key «Oven operating time»or open door of unit.
Ending/interrupting automatic operation prematurely
APress key .

Food probe
APosition food probe and insert plug.
–«––»appears in the display shortly after insert-
ing the plug.
Setting the food probe temperature
APress key .
–Recommended food probe temperature (70 °C)
is displayed.
ASet required food probe temperature with adjusting
knob .
ASwitch on oven (or microwave or combined oven-mi-
crowave operation) in the normal way.
Core temperature reached
Oven heating and/or microwave switches off, acoustic signal is given.
ASwitch off acoustic signal: press key or open door of unit.

Select stored recipe and start
associated program
ASelect a recipe from the separate «Recipe book».
Prepare dish according to recipe and place in oven.
Program selection example «Gemüsegratin»:
APress key .
AConfirm with key .
–The first program group is displayed.
ASelect the desired program group with adjusting
knob .
AConfirm with key .
–The first recipe is displayed.
ASelect desired recipe with adjusting knob .
AConfirm with key .
ASelect relevant number of people with adjusting
knob .
AConfirm with key .
AStart program with key .
–The oven starts with the corresponding settings.
A brief acoustic signal is given when changing between the
individual program steps.
A long, intermittent acoustic signal sounds for one minute
when the program has ended.
Insert or remove food probe depending on the program, otherwise the start will not take
place.

Pyrolytic self-cleaning
Switching on cleaning process
ARemove all accessories from baking area. Close door of unit firmly.
AWith the oven switched off press key .
ATurn adjusting knob until «Self-cleaning»appears in
the clear text display.
APress key .
ATurn adjusting knob to select another degree of soil-
ing («Moderate staining», «Heavy staining»).
AConfirm with key .
AStart cleaning process with key .
–The cleaning process starts, the unit door is locked.
–At the end of the pyrolitic self-cleaning, the unit door remains locked until the baking area tem-
perature has fallen below 300 °C.
–When the unit door is unlocked, the clear text display shows «Residual heat»until the baking
area temperature has fallen below 80 °C.
AAfter cooling, wipe off dust remaining in the baking area with a damp cloth (without detergent).
For this purpose the bottom heater can be folded up (see operating instructions).
