Der Soundexpander Yammex XXL ist mit jedem
USB Audio Class 1 Keyboard kompatibel. Das
Yammex XXL unterstützt Ihr USB-Gerät mit einem
Maximum von 500mA Strom. Bitte überprüfen Sie
den Stromverbrauch Ihres MIDI-Gerätes. Sollte
der Stromverbrauch über 500mA liegen verbinden
Sie Ihre Gerät mit einer eigenen Stromversorgung.
Die Polarität des Sustain-Fußpedals wird beim
Einschalten automatisch eingestellt.
Das Pedal wirkt nur auf MIDI Kanal 1.

Kein Ton?
vom beiliegendem USB-Stick in Ihr Keyboard

Homepage www.v3sound.com.
Die Sounds nur testen!
Wenn Sie ein YAMMEX XXL Modul nur
testen möchten, müssen Sie dazu keine Da-
ten in Ihr Gerät kopieren.

USB-Stick anwählen.

Wenn Sie das MIDI-Kabel angeschlos-

die MIDI-Einstellung passt, wählen Sie
einfach eine V3 User-Voice. Die MIDI-
LED am YAMMEX XXL muss nun bei
jedem Tastenanschlag blinken.
Damit Sie die Yammex XXL Sounds im
Expansion-Pack-Ordner an Ihrem Key-
board anwählen können, müssen Sie,
wie bei allen YEM-Packs, eine Instal-
lationsdatei mit dem YEM Programm
erstellen.
Eine Schulung, wie Sie mit dem YEM
Sound-Packs installieren, ist nicht Teil
dieses Handbuches.
Der Installationsvorgang wird hier nur
kurz umschrieben.
Im YEM Editor klicken Sie:
1. "My Packs"
2. dann das + Zeichen und

4. Wählen Sie vom beiliegenden USB-
Stick im Ordner YEM das File V3 111

5. Wählen Sie nun das erste Pack (111)
aus und klicken Sie auf
6. Change LSB Bank
7. Die LSB Bänke müssen Sie für jedes
Pack manuell auf die von uns vorgege-
benen Nummern setzen. Der Name des
Packs ist auch die LSB Nummer.
Wenn Sie alle YAMMEX XXL Daten in
den YEM Editor geladen haben, müssen
die LSB Bänke, wie in der
Grafik dargestellt, erscheinen.
verwenden.

Class 1 compatible keyboard. The V3 unit can
supply your USB keyboard with a maximum of

No sound?
e YAMMEX XXL sound expander only creates a tone when you call up a sound from
the V3 folder in your keyboard’s display. Just connecting it to your keyboard is not
enough.
To integrate YAMMEX XXL Sounds into your keyboard setup, you need the fol-
lowing hardware:
MIDI cable (optional)
Stereo cable (optional)
The cables will vary depending on the connections
on your YAMAHA keyboard or mixer.
USB stick with voice data, included
One-time setup of the following:
MIDI and audio connections
MIDI settings on your keyboard
Copy of the voice data with the names of
our sounds on your keyboard from the USB stick (included)
Now when you choose YAMMEX XXL Voices on your keyboard display, the
YAMMEX XXL sounds play automatically. You will hear YAMAHA sounds when
you select the YAMAHA sound banks on your keyboard display instead.
This information is for users of Tyros5, Genos and compatible PSR models only!
An installation of the user voices with the YAMAHA expansion manager (YEM)
is NOT absolutely necessary. You can copy the user voices into your user voice
folder and all of them will be available for selection. However, you may NOT use
the LSB sound banks 111-118 in the YEM.
The advantage of the YEM installation is:
When you install the voice data with the YEM and also copy the user voices onto
your keyboard, you can save your own changes to the sounds in your keyboard
with the VOICE-SET function in USER Voices (i.e. personal settings for attack,
decay, release, etc.).
For more information on YEM installation, please see page 16.

Testing MIDI connections and settings
After connecting your MIDI cable and
making sure your MIDI settings are cor-
rect, select a V3 User Voice. The MIDI
LED on the YAMMEX XXL should now
blink with every keystroke.
As with any YEM sound pack, you have
to create an installation file with the
YEM program in order to select the
YAMMEX XXL sounds from the expan-
sion pack folder on your keyboard.
The instructions normally installed as a
part of YEM sound packs are not part of
this user manual.
The installation steps are briefly descri-
bed below:
In the YEM Editor, proceed as follows:
1. Click on “My Packs”
2. Click +
3. Click IMPORT PACK
4. Select the file V3 111 Pianos
from the YEM folder on the USB stick
included in the package.
5. Select the first pack (111)
6. Click Change LSB Bank
7. You must set the LSB banks ma-
nually on the specified numbers for every
pack. The name of the pack is also its LSB
number.
After you have loaded all of the
YAMMEX XXL data into the YEM Editor,
the LSB banks should look just like the
graphic here.
The YAMMEX XXL sound expander requi-
res LSB 111-118.
Complete this installation, as always in
the YEM Editor, with Install Target…
You may use any MIDI channel except 10
for Upper and Lower parts.
NO SOUND?
If the MIDI LED blinks but you still don’t
hear a sound, check your audio connections
again.
You can use original Yamaha sound packs
and those from other manufacturers wit-
hout any limitations.
YAMMEX XXL requires LSB 111-118.
