3 Description
By buying a Vanderbilt product you have chosen outstanding reliability and quality. The GMYA7-AS remote test-
ing system for seismic detectors exceeds statutory requirements. The testing system also satisfies the high qual-
ity standards of Vanderbilt and the VdS requirements relating to the seismic detector guidelines.
The remote testing system offers a simple way of testing the function of seismic detectors installed in the building
or displaying saved alarms.

3.1 Application
The remote testing system is designed for testing permanently connected seismic detectors for indoor use in
stationary operations only. Correct function cannot be guaranteed for applications exceeding the limits (see Sec-
tion 10 Technical data).
3.2 Requirements for safe use
The appropriate seismic detectors GM775 have a VdS-compliant test input and must be equipped with a test
generator GMXS1. The remote testing system must be installed correctly and tested successfully after initial
commissioning.
The remote testing system must be connected to a source of voltage with a limited rating in accordance with
EN60950-1.

5 Assembly and installation
The following cables are recommended for connection to the intrusion detection control unit and seismic detec-
tors:
From control panel to key module
I-Y(St)Y 4 x 2 x 0.6mm
From indicator module to seismic detector
I-Y(St)Y 2 x 2 x 0.6mm
Cable between modules
1 x Ribbon cable 1 x 4 x AWG26
1 x Ribbon cable 1 x 5 x AWG26
The remote testing system contains components that are susceptible to electrical discharge. Always
eliminate electrostatic charge before touching these components.
Only connect plug and cable joints when the system is switched off and free of any supply voltage.

5.2 Assembly guidelines
1. The system must be assembled by a suitably trained person and all country-specific requirements must be
observed.
2. Assemble the system on a hard, level surface.
3. When positioning, ensure the necessary space and note the wiring arrangement. Each module must be se-
cured with two screws (Fig. 1, Item I).
4. Modules should preferably be joined together on the long side. Use the mounting aid (Fig.1, item F) for this
purpose. If modules are to be connected on the short side, at least two pairs of modules should be con-
nected next to one another on this side.

5.4 Figure 3: Mounting aid assembly
When the end pieces (T and S) are fitted they can no longer be loosened without being destroyed.
Only join the end pieces when the final position for all of the modules is decided.
The mounting aid joins the modules of the housing in any combination.
For the short housing side use two pieces (R) and the end pieces (S).
For the long housing side use the end pieces (T) and terminator (U).
On the long side the marks (V) on the rear should be next to one another.
Snap the mounting aid into the pins on the back of the housing.
5. Make the holes for the housing fastening (Fig. 2, Inner view of GMYA7-AS housing, item I) and safety screw
(Fig. 2, Inner view of GMYA7-AS housing, item J).
6. Make the holes for the cable duct for cables (Fig. 1, Items D, E, G) and screw on housing.
7. Before connecting to a power supply, connect the wires of the connection cables as shown in Fig. 1
Prior to fitting the front of each housing, remove all cable access points that are required to complete
the installation (Fig. 1, items D, E, G).

13. Close all indicator modules, then close the key switch module to power up the system for the first time.
14. Carry out initial commissioning as described in the Operation section.
Once successfully commissioned, the remote testing system is operational and can be sealed. We would recom-
mend taking a log of commissioning, using the GMSW7 SensTool software.

6 Operation
When remote testing seismic detectors, the system can be activated with the key switch on the GMA7-S. The
key can be inserted and removed in the Display OFF position. All seismic detectors can be tested at the same
time using the key module. Each indicator module can also be used to test the seismic detectors connected to
them.
The day / night changeover is controlled by the intruder alarm system. When in the night state, the alarms, which
occur, are saved in the indicator modules. These suppressed alarms are displayed on the indicator modules
when the key switch in the GMA7-S is turned to the Display ON position. The first seismic detector which enters
the alarm condition is indicated by a flashing LED. All other seismic detectors, which have triggered into alarm,
light up constantly.
When testing in day state, wait approximately 10 seconds before setting the system.
If a detector in night state is activated during a test, an alarm may be triggered in the control panel
(alarm holding time of the detectors is approximately 2.5 s).
Wait at least 10 seconds before changing the intruder alarm system to night state (armed) after a test.
