Let’s talk safety
• Do not pull or carry by cord. Do not use the cord
as a handle, close a door on the cord or pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the
vacuum cleaner over the cord. Keep the cord away
from heated surfaces.
• Do not handle the plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use
with any openings blocked and do not restrict
airow. Keep all openings free of dust, lint, hair
or anything that might reduce airow.
• Do not pick up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches
or any hot, smoking or burning objects.
• Do not pick up ammable or combustible materials
(lighter uid, petrol, kerosene etc.) or use in the
presence of explosive liquids or vapours.
• Do not vacuum up harmful or toxic material
(chlorine, bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner etc.).
• Do not vacuum up hard or sharp objects such
as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
• Do not use without ALL of the lters in place.
• Do not leave outdoors.
• Do not vacuum baking soda or any other
powder-based carpet re-fresher or deoderiser.
• Do not vacuum plaster dust, concrete dust or any
other building or vitreous material.

Always switch o and unplug the machine
from the electrical outlet before assembling,
opening, emptying the dirt container,
before connecting/disconnecting the
attachments, or carrying out maintenance or
troubleshooting checks.
WARNING
Cleaning lters improves vacuum performance.
Vax recommends that your lters should be
checked and cleaned periodically. If your
lters are washable make sure they are
completely dry before inserting back into the
vacuum cleaner.
The motor is equipped with a thermal cut-out.
If for any reason the unit should overheat, the
thermostat will automatically turn the unit
o. Should this occur, unplug the vacuum
cleaner from the electrical outlet and turn
o the switch. Remove dirt container and
empty. Clean lters. Allow the unit to cool for
approximately one (1) hour. To re-start, plug
into an electrical outlet and switch back on.

Basic safety precautions
This machine is intended for household use only, and
NOT for commercial or industrial use.
WHEN USING THE VACUUM CLEANER:
Basic safety precautions should always be observed,
including the following:
• Only use the vacuum cleaner indoors on dry surfaces.
• Always unplug the vacuum cleaner before connecting
or disconnecting the vacuum hose and accessories.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only Vax
recommended attachments.
• Do not use the vacuum cleaner if it has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped
into water. Do not use the vacuum cleaner with
a damaged cord or plug. If the supply cord is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
• Use only SAA approved 10 amp extension cords.
Non-approved cords may overheat. Care should be
taken to arrange the cord so that the cord cannot be
tripped over.
• We recommend the use of a residual current device
with a residual current of 30mA or less.
• Turn o the vacuum cleaner controls before
disconnecting or connecting from the mains supply.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers and all parts of
the body away from openings and moving parts.
• Take extra care when vacuuming on stairs.
• Keep vacuuming area well lit.
• Store the vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry area.
• Turn o the on/o switch before unplugging the
vacuum cleaner.

NOTE: Switching the brushbar on whilst cleaning hard oors
may damage the ooring.
NOTE: The crevice tool, dusting brush and upholstery tool can all be attached to the telescopic tube
or directly to the hose.

Advanced cleaning
Lift o canister.
Slide out the cyclone separator.
Press the release button
on canister to empty.
Tap over a bin to remove
excess dirt
or use a brush to gently
clean separator.

Twist canister lid.
Tap over a bin to remove
excess dirt.
Lift lid o.
Wash lter with warm tap water
(40º max).
Pull out the lter from the
canister base.
Allow to dry for 24hrs.
Press the release clip at the front on
the lter cap.
Separate lter from the holder. Tap over bin to clean.
WARNING: Do not wash the post-motor lter.

Resetting jammed brushbar
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn the vacuum cleaner o and unplug from the electrical outlet
before performing maintenance/troubleshooting checks.
Disconnect the hose from the vacuum cleaner and remove any blockages found then reconnect the hose securely.
IMPORTANT: For your safety, never try to access / replace brush bar drive belt. If problem persists please call
our careline: AU 1300 361 505 / NZ: 0800 800 900.
A red ashing light will indicate a jammed brushbar. To reset press the button on the side of you vacuum.
Removing debris from the brushbar
If the light continues to ash after resetting, the brushbar may still be blocked. Using a pair of scissors, cut
through any threads or hairs caught around the brushbar. To access brushbar:
Press the brushbar reset button again to ensure the blockage is fully cleared.
Press the two side buttons together
and pull apart.
Carefully use scissors to cut
out the blockage.
Realign turbo brush sides and
press together.

• It may not be plugged into the electrical outlet correctly; ensure that
the plug is pushed in securely.
• The electrical outlet may not be working properly; check the fuse or
breaker, or consult an electrician.
• The motor thermostat may have tripped; switch o and unplug the
vacuum cleaner, and leave for one hour before switching the cleaner
back on.
• The brushbar may not be turned on. Refer to the Using your machine
section.
• The unit may not be reclined. Refer to the Using your machine section.
• The brushbar may be jammed. Refer to 'Taking care of your machine;
how to resetting jammed brushbar.'
• The brushbar may be jammed. 'Taking care of your machine; how to
resetting jammed brushbar.'

container from the unit by pressing the dirt container release button
and then re-attach it to the unit, ensuring it is locked rmly back
into place.
