GBUSER INSTRUCTIONS FOR FISH FEEDER PRO
INTRODUCTION
With this automatic feeder, you are in possession of a sophisticated and advanced
feeding system for the pond.Whether it is a decorative pond with goldfish or a special
pond with koi carp, all types of fish will benefit from sufficient and regular feedings.
Velda has given much thought to the user-friendliness, feeding frequency and
construction of this system. We wish you much pleasure with the Fish Feeder Basic.
GENERAL
In the wild, fish are constantly looking for food and their digestive system is adapted
to this. Their gastrointestinal tract is short and accordingly, so is the digestion of food.
In the pond, excessive amounts of feed can lead to indigestion and pollution of the
environment. A healthy fish population with constant growth will be obtained by
feeding measured amounts of feed several times a day. Especially during holiday
periods and in poor weather conditions, the fish will be 'forgotten' at times. With the
Fish Feeder Basic this problem is solved. Velda has specially developed this feeding
device to ensure the feedings in measured amounts multiple times per day. During
holidays, but also in bad weather, your fish are daily assured of regular feedings with
consistent amounts. With the Fish Feeder Basic, you feed the desired amount, which
you program, up to eight times a day. As all the feed will be eaten, the pond
environment will not become extra polluted and your fish will stay healthy. Certainly
for ornamental carp lovers, a sophisticated feeding of these fish is important for
obtaining an optimal range of colouringanda constant growth.
The capacity of the feed container is about 2.5 litres. The upper part of the container is
transparent, so that the feed level inside the container remains visible. The sophisti-
cated design of the feeder and the feeding mechanism stops moisture getting into
the feed. The device also includes a removable dosing screw for dispensing pellet or
grain feed ranging from 3 to 6 mm. The Fish Feeder Basic has a digital operating dis-
play. The display is splash-proof with an LCD screen. The settings for the feeding times
and doses are preserved evenafter a mains interruption.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The Fish Feeder Basic can be simply applied near the pond, using the peg supplied
along. The peg should be placed near the pond, about 25 to 30 cm deep in the
ground, as close to the feeding place as possible. Ensure a strong and straight an-
choring. Next, press the connecting piece on it and fasten it by screw. In the con-
necting piece the horizontal tube should be fastened. Please pay special attention to
the fingers coming into openings of the tube.Tighten the screw till the tube is locked.
On the other end of the horizontal tube the feed container should be fastened in the
same way. The feed container should remain at least 20 cm above water level.
Tighten the cap well. The operating display can be fastened to the connecting piece
or in a different place protected against the sun. The Fish Feeder Basic is supplied
with 5 m safety cable for outdoor use. Optional is an extension cable of10 m, enabling
you to control the operating display remotely (for example from the terrace).

AUTOMATIC FEEDING
The Fish Feeder Basic can dispense feed automatically up to a maximum of 8 times a
day. The intervals between the feedings must be at least 60 minutes. No feed will be
dispensed if the automatic feeding is turned off. Manual feeding is always possible,
whether or not the automatic feeding is turned on. The factory default applies after a
reset or if you do not enter any settings: 1 dose of automatic feeding 4 times a day.
Number of feedings a day
You can set the number of feedings a day between 1 and 8. The feedings are spread
automatically between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. If you opt for 7 feedings, your fish will be fed
at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. If these are the feeding
times you want, select 'feeding times ok'. If you want to change the feeding times,
navigate to a particular feeding using the arrow keys and make your selection with
the middle key (set). Then you can change the hours using the arrow keys, and
confirm the settings with the middle key (set). After that, you can change the minutes
using the arrow keys, and confirm the settings with the middle key (set). You can
repeat these steps to change the other feeding times. In this way, you can also set
feeding times before 8 a.m. and after 8 p.m.
Amount per feeding
You can set the amount of feed per feeding at between 1 and 10 doses. You can test
the dose dispensed and select the number of doses per feed. An advanced and
particularly sophisticated feature is that the automatic feeding system does not
dispense the set amount of feed at once; it splits it up into 3 portions and releases
them at intervals of about 1 minute.
Extra manual feeding
Manual feeding is always possible, whether or not the automatic feeding is turned on
or off. You can set the amount of feed per feeding at between 1 and 10 doses.
AUTUMN AND WINTER
When temperatures drop in autumn, fish require less food due to their low energy
use. Limit the amount of feed during this period. When the water temperature is 8°C
or less, the feeding device can be removed from the pond. At these low tempera-
tures, itisenough to hand feed the fishonce or twice a week with winter food.
MAINTENANCE
In order to guarantee proper feeding continuity, the Fish Feeder Basic should be cleaned
occasionally during the pond season. In any case, when you refill it. Make sure the feeder
is empty and remove the screw by turning it to the left. Use a brush to remove dust from
the screw and the housing. Before the Fish Feeder Basic is stored for the winter, make
sure you clean and dry the feed container, the screw housing and the screw and then put
the device away in a dryplace until the followingspring.

SAFETY REGULATIONS
Ensure a durable grounded connection to the electric mains and use an earth leakage
circuit breaker of nominal 30 mA. With damage to the device, control display or cable
the apparatus should no longer be used. With activity in or around the pond, all electri-
cal pond apparatuses should be unplugged. This also applies to the Fish Feeder Basic.
GUARANTEE
