FOR HAND HELD TRANSCEIVERR
rPlease read this manual carefully to become familiar with the features of this
transceiver.
rDo not transmit the radio without an antenna connected.
rWhen transmitting, hold the radio in a vertical position with its microphone 2.5
to 5 cm away from your mouth and keep the antenna at least 2.5cm away from
your head.
rThe radio must be used with a maximum operating duty cycle not exceeding
50 %, in typical Push-to-Talk (PTT) configurations. DO NOT transmit for more
than 50 % of total radio use time (50 % duty cycle). Transmitting more than
50 % of the time can cause RF exposure compliance requirements to be
exceeded.
The radio is transmitting when the red LED on the top of the radio is illuminated.
You can cause the radio to transmit by pressing the PTT button or by using the
VOX headset, if the radio is supported.
rAlways use the Vertex Standard authorized Battery Pack.

batteries according to the instructions.
rPerform the battery charging where the ambient temperature range 0 °C to
+45 °C. Charge out of this range could cause damage to the battery pack.
rBattery Pack shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or
the like.
rAlways use Vertex Standard authorized accessories.
Vertex Standard shall not be liable for any damage or accidents such as fire,
leakage or explosion of batteries, etc., caused by the malfunction of non-

This radio is designed for and classified as occupational use only, meaning
it must be used only during the course of employment by individuals aware
of hazardous, and the ways to minimize such hazardous. This radio is not
intended for use by the General Population in an uncontrolled environment.

WARNING: DO NOT operate the radio when any person(s) (bystanders) outside
the vehicle are within the distances shown in the chart at the bottom of this
section.
Safety Training information: Antennas used for this transmitter must not exceed
an antenna gain of 0 dBd. The radio must be used in vehicle-mount configurations
with a maximum operating duty factor not exceeding 50 %, in typical Push-to-Talk
configurations.
This radio is restricted to occupational use, work related operations only where
the radio operator must have the knowledge to control the exposure conditions of
its passengers and bystanders by maintaining the minimum separation distance
shown below.
Antenna Installation: For rear deck trunk installation, the antenna must be
located at least 1 m (VHF model) or 0.8 m (UHF model) away from rear-seat
passengers. For roof top installations, the antenna must be placed in the center
of the roof.
Warning!: The HIGH voltage is applied to the antenna terminal of the
transceiver while transmitting.
Do not touch the TX RF section absolutely while transmitting.
Caution: The radio can become hot.
Do not operate the radio continuously in transmission mode for longer than
7 minutes. Ensure enough standby/reception time for cool-down between
transmission periods. Be sure that TOT timer is correctly installed and
properly working. Avoid touching the rear bottom of the transceiver’s body
while transmission.
Automotive Directive E-Marking: In order to meet the requirements of the
Automotive Directive (72/245/ECC, as amended by 95/54EC) this product must
