Using System (First time Opening The Head Unit)

Please Note: Update your Phone Firmware to the latest version to avoid connection issues with
Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
1: To connect your phone, turn on your Bluetooth within your phone. Once that’s done,
follow the image instructions below:
Tap Bluetooth Icon
2: Tap the “Magnifying Glass” icon to search for your device. Once you see your device, tap the
Glass Icon to stop the search.
Then,
tap the Bluetooth with the “Check” icon to pair your device. After that, your phone will ask you
for the Pin Code. Input 0000, and it will pair your device straight away.
It should look like this once the head unit is paired up with your phone.
3: Once paired with your phone, the head unit should show Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
As for Iphone users, once connected to the head unit, on the phone itself will ask a prompt
questions if you want to use Carplay, press yes. (Need to put a picture on here)

Car-Play and Android Auto allow users to use their frequently used apps that are displayed
on the head unit, such as sending a text message, calling someone, using maps navigation,
or listening to music or podcasts.s
● Troubleshooting
Iphone:
- Head Unit - Bluetooth - Click on your phone which will be on he paired devices side and press on
the trash can icon
- Phone - bluetooth - CAR KIT-K - Click on the small "i" next to it and click forget this device
- Phone - settings - general - car play - My Cars click on any cars under here and then click on forget
this car.
Android:
- Head Unit - Bluetooth - Click on your phone which will be on he paired devices side and press on
the trash can icon
- Phone - bluetooth - CAR KIT-K - Click on the small "gear" next to it and click forget this device
● What Apps are on the unit
Our Android-powered head unit works just like your phone - you can install any apps
available on Google Playstore! Download apps like Netflix or YouTube for your
passengers to stream videos, listen to music and podcasts via Spotify, or even browse
the web.
● Downloading Apps PlayStore
To download apps from the Google PlayStore, your phone needs to be hotspot to your phone
or using a 4G Dongle to have internet access. Once that’s done please sign in sign in to access
millions of apps.
Once you sign in, you now have access to whatever apps you like.
● AM/FM Radio
Need to work on this a bit more as it has many functionalities
● Navigation Apps
For navigation, Vhedia head units have Google Map, Waze, IGO pre-installed. Another option
is to install HEMA for best 4x4 navigation that offers essential information when you’re on your
trip.

As for 4x4 Driving, we recommend using the HEMA app. This app features detailed maps and
roads for 4x4 Wheel Driving.
● Wired Car Play and Android Auto
1: To connect the phone manually, you need your phone's cable.
2: ConnectthecabletoyourphoneandtheotherendtotheheadunitUSBWiring labelled
“CarPlay/AndroidAuto”.
3: All connected and ready to go!
● Volume Setup and using DSP
Here’s the Digital Sound Processor (DSP) home page, where you can access different menus
that have each unique functionality to suit your audio liking.
To access DSP from the home menu, swipe from the top to the bottom to access the top
navigation bar, in which you’ll have access to the main control centre. Now tap the “Speaker”
icon to access DSP.
If you cannot find it at the top, please expand the bottom bar to access DSP.
Sound Effects: Here’s where you can adjust different Audio HZ to suit your liking - more
Bass, more input into your SubWoofer, etc.
Sound Field: Here’s where you can select preset sound settings that suit you better
Settings:
Sound Effects: Select and customise different sound presets for each media-sound category.
If you’re mainly into music, you can select from different effects to get the best sound
experience.
Equaliser: Play around with different settings with also the option of Graphs for Decibels:
Balance: Customise sound outputs on different angles/speakers with the help of the Balance
tool to suit your wants/liking.
● Settings
Access tons of different settings that work just like your phone - may it be Wifi, Bluetooth, or
Hotspot connections. You’ll have access to everything you need.
● Changing Widgets:
To access widgets, navigate to the main selection of apps. Then, select the Widget bar to
access all the widgets accessible.
To place a widget on the main screen, press and hold the widget that you like and drop
it wherever you want on the main home menu.

● Firmware Update
We have just made some changes to the UI and bluetooth firmware and also changed
CarPlay/Android Auto App from Zlink to SpeedPlay.

1. Download all file from here and put them on a USB:

(re format as FAT32 format if having issues)
2. Plug USB into Head unit and choose ok to run update.
3. Once done run bluetooth update - settings - car settings - factory settings -
09271111 4. Choose 210 as file type and system will reboot.
5. Hotspot phone to unit so unit has internet or connect to house WiFi. Open speedplay app and
send us a photo or the QR code and we will activate it for you.

Diagnosing Common Problems
Bluetooth Car Delay
-To avoid facing connection delays please update your phone to the latest firmware.
If unsuccessful please try these different fixes.
-Please try unpairing your phone and pairing your phone again with the head unit
-Update your head unit firmware, for any assistance please email or call us -
Unpair devices from your phone that might be messing with your connection
Phone Not Pairing
-Please reset your head unit by turning your car on and off to have a full head unit reset -Do a
full bluetooth connection reset by selecting forget this device for android and unpair this
device for android. Once done, connect it again and put 0000 for the pin code.
Head Unit Too Slow
-Reset the head unit by turning your car on and off to have a full head unit reset -Update the
head unit firmware, for any assistance please contact or email us for direct support
Location Services Not working
-Put the gps module at the base of your car windshield to get a better signal -
Make sure the gps module is plug in correctly to the right position and plug tightly
Phone Battery Draining Issue
-AndroidAuto/AppleCarPlay are widely known to have heavily drain smartphones which why to
fix these problems you will need to have a fast car plug charger and a fast charging cable that
will permanently fix your battery drain problem. We also have an article voering the full case the

Microphone
Can be installed optionally within the head unit to receive better voice recognition within
a call.
GPS
Plugs back in the back of the head unit for navigational functionalities mainly use for
SatNav, Google Maps, Waze, iGO, Hema and other navigation apps.
Wifi Antenna
Gives the head unit a Wifi Functionality mainly for accessing the internet. Some head units
already have Wifi integrated into them
Antenna
Plugs in the back of head unit for radio functionalities, this is required in order for your Radio
to work for AM/FM Stations.
3 RCA PLUG
Auxiliary Plug which usually is not needed unless you have an amplifier installed within your
car.
20 Pin Plug
Converts all of your vehicle voltage into the head unit and speaker functionalities as well so
you don’t have to cut anything making the installation easier as you think!
5 Pin Plug (2 USB & Microphone)
One external mic input for the microphone included in the kit and two usb for wired
CarPlay/Android Auto and lastly the other USB for plugging in your flashdrive for firmware updates
or for charging your phone
7 Pin Plug with 7 RCA
Will only be needing this if you’re running an aftermarket amplifier which you can directly
plug your amplifier’s wirings.
Grey 3 Pin Plug
This have two Yellow RCA PLUG that can support 2 cameras at onces, this is where you
will be plugging in your reverse camera.
Purple 3 Pin Plug
Allows for an additional USB Socket
5 Meter Long Lead
This is mainly use for the reverse camera that is connected to the head unit and can be run
all the way to the back of the car to install the reverse camera. Positive and Negative should go the
reverse wirings to get some power and Red RCA should be plug to the camera itself.
