Battery Monitor Results:
Low battery voltage (yellow or red LED)
is not always due to a dead battery.
It could be an indication of several things,
including, but not limited to:
• Possible problem with the alternator
• Dirty battery terminals
• Extreme outside temperature
• Undercharged battery
NOTE: WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING VOLTAGE METER WILL
MEASURE ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE. NORMAL READINGS
FOR STANDARD ALTERNATORS RANGE FROM 13.5 - 14.5 V.

Vehicle LCD Battery / Charging System Tester Manual
Battery Test Mode (Range: 0 - 13.5 Volts)
1. With vehicle turned off, insert the electrical contact end of the tester into cigarette lighter socket or power receptacle.
2. Turn key ignition to accessory power. Battery / charging system tester should display results.
(For vehicles with push button start, press the start button without engaging the brake.)

Good Battery Test Result
Green LED Illuminated | Voltage Range: 12.61 - 13.5 Volts | Charge Graph: 5 Bars +
Indicates Good Battery
Bad Battery Test Result
Yellow or Red LED Illuminated | Voltage Range: 0 - 12.6 V | Charge Graph: 0 - 4 Bars
Indicates Possible Battery Problem - Charge or replacement may be necessary
Proceed to steps below to test alternator. This may help to determine if problems exist with the battery, alternator, or
possibly both.
Alternator Test Mode (Range: 13.51 - 16 Volts)
1. Insert the electrical contact end of the tester into cigarette lighter socket or power receptacle.
2. Turn engine on and leave running (If engine does not start or does not continue to run, consult automotive technician).
Understanding Alternator Test Results
Good Alternator Test Result
Green LED Illuminated | Voltage Range: 13.51 - 14.5 V
Indicates alternator is charging battery and powering electrical system.
Bad Alternator Test Result
Yellow or Red LED Illuminated | Voltage Above or Below Target Range of 13.51 - 14.5 V
Indicates alternator is overcharging or undercharging system, or there could be other electrical problems.
Consult automotive technician.
